El has been with the site for nearly two years now and has continued to prove her value. Currently, she is heading up our site event, Battle for Liberterram, on top of keeping up with her own personal plots.
Lux's posts are all wonderful to read. She has done a wonderful job of grasping the new universe and incorporating Peggy into it.
It's good to see Spidey back on the site. Watching him deal with the universe shift in his own snarky way has been nothing short of entertaining.
Eight O'Clock on the Dot!
El and Lux are making magic in this thread. Straight up fireworks, and the way they've played with drawing out the reveal is top class.
Power: Power is what Amora has lusted after for as long as she can remember. It has become an obsession, her quest for power is what drives her with little regard for anything else. Her power makes her feel superior to others, especially when she is able to overpower fellow magic users. It's almost like a drug to her and she wants to constantly become more powerful so that she can show the nine realms that she is indeed Asgard's most powerful inhabitant.
Asgard: Although she is currently banished from it, Asgard does hold a fond place in her heart. It is her home after all and it holds a great deal of good memories to her. She doesn't want to destroy Asgard and would in fact protect it given the chance. While she may not see eye to eye with Odin (no pun intended), she won't deny her love for the place. Which is one of the reasons why she wants to rule the realm.
Success: Whether it be in magic or seduction, Amora loves to succeed. It gives her a sense of gratification and validation that she is capable of the things she imagines. After being banished for so long, even the minor successes are of importance too her. Once her power is fully restored to her, she'll be able to test herself properly. The exile from Asgard has shown what failure feels like and it's not something she wishes to experience again.
Love: Love is one of the most powerful forces in all of the nine realms. It is why Amora chooses to use it like a powerful tool. The results are almost always different, which is fascinating to her. Every creature has a different tolerance to it, which is also fascinating. Humans are one of the more interesting species when under the influence of love. Something that she plans to exploit whenever she is in Midgard.
Herself: Amora is vain and arrogant. She knows how powerful she is and even though there is some doubts, especially after being so easily banished by Odin, she still feels that she is capable of so much more. Not only was her beauty constantly complimented before her banishment, but she also found out how easily she could seduce even the most powerful of Asgardians. She only cares about herself and sees others as mere pawns to help her complete a task. However, such a view can't last forever and eventually there will inevitably be someone else who she'll find that she cares for.
Odin: It was he who banished Amora and condemned her to spend her life in a prison cell where she couldn't tap into Asgard's mystical energies for power. Because of this, her powers have severely diminished and now Amora seeks vengeance for what he has done. When she feels that she is powerful enough, she will take on the Allfather. However, until then there are always other methods, such as turning his children against him.
Karnilla: Although Karnilla taught her a great deal, Amora wants vengeance after she was expelled for being too undisciplined. Her powers have increased drastically after their last meeting and it was millennia ago, but Amora still holds a grudge. Also, Karnilla is regarded as one of the most powerful sorceresses in Asgard and Amora wants to prove that she is so much better by eliminating her.
Midgard: Amora's disliking towards Midgard goes back a long way. She didn't mind the realm and even found it charming in some ways long ago. However, when stories of Asgard made their way to Midgard and were spread around, there was no mention of her. Thor, Loki, Odin even some of the lesser Asgardians had their stories told, but even someone as powerful as she was not to be seen. Her pride was hurt by what she now considered a weak and primitive realm. This disliking has worsened recently with the knowledge that Odin has sent Thor, arguably Asgard's finest warrior to defend Midgard, putting Asgard at risk if another attack were to happen.
Being Regarded as Evil: Despite everything that she has done, Amora doesn't consider herself as evil. Sure, some of the things she did were immoral, she won't deny that, but being called wicked is something that angers and almost hurts her. The Allfather had called her wicked when he banished her and it has stayed with her over the centuries.
Captivity: Her time spend in captivity hasn't humbled her by making her feel weak. It has shown her the importance of never failing again and has only increased her lust for power. When she is free, her priority will be restoring her power, something that won't take long when she can draw upon Asgard's energies.
Sorcery: Amora has dedicated her entire life to the study of the magical arts. She has been taught by, Karnilla, one of the most powerful sorceresses in all of Asgard. After being expelled by her for being too undisciplined, Amora increased her power by seducing the most powerful magic users in Asgard to learn their secrets. Because of this, she has gained immense skill and knowledge of magic and has became one of the most powerful sorceresses in Asgard herself.
Seduction The art of seduction is second nature to Amora. Using her natural beauty combined with her magic, she is able to seduce just about any living person. When she was at the height of her power, she was able to do this with a single kiss, however this ability has gone after her banishment from Asgard. That being said, she is still extremely skilled at seducing others, even when they know who she is and what her gaols are.
Manipulation: Even without seducing others, Amora is still talented when it comes to manipulating others. She can easily make it seem like she is helping others, when she is really getting them to help her without their knowledge. The more she knows about a person, the easier it is for her to say things that she know will affect them. She is constantly observing others and listening for anything that she may later be able to exploit.
Physical Combat: The phrase "I'm a lover, not a fighter" has never been so apt. Amora relies on her magic as well as magic items to do her fighting. While she can greatly overpower humans, in Asgardian terms she is still incredibly weak and can easily be physically overpowered by other Asgardians, as well as those who possess superhuman strength.
Other Realms: Because Amora's magic is derived from Asgardian sources, time spent outside of the realm of Asgard will cause her powers to diminish. While they won't disappear completely, the longer spent in other realms, the more her powers decrease. Only by returning to Asgard will her powers come back to her. Because of her current banishment, Amora is in an extremely weakened state and is currently trying to use her powers of seduction to return to Asgard by whatever means possible.
Obsession: Amora's pursuit of power has become an obsession. It is what drives her every action and what has gotten her into so much trouble, which resulted in her banishment from Asgard. Even her desire to seek vengeance on those that she feels has wronged her takes second place. After all, she is going to need as much power as possible if she wishes to even think about taking on someone as powerful as Karnilla.
Amora's primary goal is to be recognised by all of Asgard as the most powerful user of magic that ever lived. After devoting so much of her life to bettering her abilities, it has become all she cares about. Her seduction of some of the most powerful sorcerers of Asgard have all been to learn their magical secrets. She also seeks vengeance against both Odin, for banishing her from Asgard, as well as Karnilla, for expelling her for being "undisciplined".
Amora's greatest fear is that she isn't as powerful as she believes she is. While she is confident in her abilities, there is still the natural doubt every so often in the back of her mind that makes her wonder. If she doesn't possess the power needed to be considered Asgard's most powerful sorceress, then she fears she will just fade into obscurity. Midgard already has legends of Asgard with no mention of her, something that is deeply hurting as well as insulting.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Amora oozes sex appeal, even without her powerful magic to influence the thoughts of others. Her natural beauty and charm have made it extremely hard for any creature to resist her. She isn't the evil witch who many Asgardians see her as. While she may want to take down Odin from his throne, she initially only wanted to because she felt that she possessed the capacity to be more powerful than Odin could be. Now, it's simple vengeance that wants Odin gone. However, her lust for power is still her number one concern. While she may be vain, Amora isn't blind to the fact that there are bigger threats out there - Thanos being exhibit A. She isn't opposed to making alliances, however she won't be above betraying them if their goals come into conflict with hers. However, with such a threat to Midgard and, more importantly, Asgard, Amora may even wish to help the Allfather if she was given the chance. She sees the bigger picture and will put her plans on hold if it means the safety of Asgard - hell, she'll even tolerate being on Midgard. Of course, her reputation will prevent her from being freed by Odin himself. Then again, this crisis could be just what she needs, with Asrgard distracted Amora could use it to her advantage. Cunning and beautiful, her impulsive nature means that not even she is sure what she'll decide to do.
Currently lives in an Asgardian prison cell.
Unnamed Mother and Father. Amora and her sister know who their parents are, as well as most of Asgard. However, because of both Amora and Lorelei's actions, they disowned their children many centuries ago and wish to have nothing to do with them - a feeling that is mutual, for Amora at least.
Lorelei - Younger Sister.
Amora's family are not from royal lineage, her parents are only minor gods.
Amora doesn't really have long term relationships. She uses love and sex as tools to further her goals. She has seduced many of the most powerful Asgardians. Whether or not she has had history with others on the board is purely up their respective players.
Note: Because there isn't much to go on for Amora's history from the comics and the fact that she doesn't appear in Norse mythology, much of her history is created to try and best fit her into the movieverse and site. While trying to fit in as many canon events as possible, this history is largely AU due to non-canon events and altered timelines.
While other Asgardians' births were considered the start of legends, Amora's birth was a much less fussed over affair. Her parents were two minor gods, neither of which were privileged enough to be granted audience with any of Asgard's royal family. From the beginning of her life, she was taught to worship the Allfather, something that she had no problem doing. After all, he was an ancient warrior and his power and influence was felt through all of Yggdrasil. It was only natural for the people of Asgard to put all their faith in their all mighty leader. The Allfather was king of the realm and from early in her life, Amora gained ambitions of one day achieving a level of greatness that would one day allow her to meet him.
As a child, Amora showed an interest in the arcane arts and was somewhat of a child prodigy. While she had great still, Amora quickly grew arrogant and this showed in her work as she grew more and more undisciplined. Even as a child, her ambitions were extraordinary and her delusions of grandeur even more so. She believed that she would one day be Asgard's most knowledgeable figure on the subject of magic. This is how she imagined she would be able to be granted an audience with the Allfather. However, whilst attending her school of magic, she had heard rumours of much more powerful beings living elsewhere in Asgard. The teachers were powerful, but from what she had heard, these others dwarves the power of the teachers. Amora knew that this was the best way for her to achieve the greatness that she so sought. At the school of much that she attended, she hadn't be well liked. Her arrogance had made her disliked by the teachers and her developing beauty had made her an object of attention to the young males. Not knowing how to react to their feelings, they decided that picking on her and bullying her were the best options. The other girls grew slightly jealous of not only the attention she was receiving but, once again, the arrogance she displayed. As she entered the phase of adolescence, she realised that she was more interested in Thor than she was about meeting the Allfather.
It was whilst in adolescence that Amora had finally decided that she had learned all she could from the convention Asgardian schools of magic. Without saying goodbye to anyone, not even her younger sister Lorelei, Amora ran away to the land of the Norns. She had heard rumours that the powerful sorceress Karnilla lived in these lands, a place forbidden to venture to. After finally locating her, Amora proposed that Karnilla take her on as an apprentice. Initially, Karnilla refused, however Amora was able to impress her with her abilities and eventually she agreed to train her. All the while, everyone that she had known were curious and worried about where she had gone. Amora had used her magic to conceal herself from any magic used to locate her, which was enhanced the land's natural magic.
Amora began to see Karnilla as a much more powerful being than the Allfather. The stories of the Allfather were just that, stories. She had never seen him do acts anywhere near as great as the things she had seen Karnilla do with her own two eyes. However, when she brought this fact to Karnilla, she was berated by the sorceress. The time she had spent with Karnilla was fruitful indeed. She had learned many impressive skills over the years as she had grown to maturity. Some of the techniques she had learned had even been deemed unnatural by the teachers of Asgard, something that made her feel even more powerful. As the years went on, Karnilla had grown weary of Amora's attitude as well as her lack of discipline. Eventually, she expelled her, sending her back home.
She grew angry at her now former master, to the point of almost wishing to destroy her, instead she wanted to show that she was a more powerful sorceress. However, she knew that she would need to learn a lot more if she ever wished to achieve this. It didn't take Amora long to discover that she had grown up into a beautiful woman. Anywhere she went she was always the focus of attention. She had learned many spells about love and seduction from Karnilla, but it appeared that she didn't need to use them. She also discovered that her beauty was a method of getting what she wanted. Using a mixture of both her natural seduction techniques and magic, she began to seduce the most powerful wizards in Asgard to learn their secrets so that she could grow in power. A string of powerful Asgardians fell for her charms and revealed their biggest secrets to her, all the while she was able to keep what she was going a secret.
With everyone she seduced, her powers grew more potent as she learned ancient secrets that few were privy to. As her powers grew, so did her ambitions. She was no longer happy with just meeting Thor or the Allfather. She wanted to rule Asgard, with perhaps even Thor as her King. Amora began to plan just how it would be possible to take Odin from his throne so that she may rule over Asgard, all the while continuing to grow stronger.
The time finally came when she decided to make her first move. Her plan was to use Brunnhilda, the leader of the Valkyries, and turn the Valkyries against Odin with several lies. Initially her plan seemed to be working and the two joined forces in order to remove Odin from power. However, Brunnhilda quickly discovered Amora's plan and tried to break off their alliance and inform Odin. Before she could get anywhere, Amora trapped Brunnhilda in a mystical crystal of souls for all eternity. With Amora's ever diminishing power, Brunnhilda has recently been freed from the crystal. After this, Amora became a fugitive of Asgard and she fled in order to avoid punishment.
Whilst a fugitive, Amora seduced Skruge the Executioner into helping with her plot. For years the two had an alliance, working together to try and rid Asgard of Odin, each time failing. Skruge's infatuation with Amora was so strong that he was literally willing to do anything for her, even die for her. However, Amora had no feelings whatsoever for him and constantly refused the offers that she had made him. Despite this, his feelings for her never changed.
Eventually, Amora was captured and brought to trial for the crimes she had committed. Odin himself was there to sentence her. The irony of the fact that she had wanted to grow powerful to meet the Allfather when she was young was lost on her. She was sentenced to life imprisoned and banished from Asgard. Before she was sent away, Odin called her a wicked enchantress, words that she has not forgotten.
For several centuries, Amora has been imprisoned, in the darkest part of Asgard's prison. Because of this, her powers have diminished and she is extremely weak from her being unable to draw her strength from Asgard. Luckily the one thing that hasn't weakened is her ability to seduce. Using her charm, she has been able to make friends with the guards, which have kept her up to date in what has been going on. With the recent attack on Asgard, she knows that this is her best time for freedom. She could help Asgard or use the distraction to complete what she has wanted for so long. Whether or not she is officially released doesn't matter - all it takes is one guard to open her cell and she has had centuries to work her charms on them.
