[PTabbedContent][PTab=GENERAL INFORMATION] CHARACTER INFO: NAME: Thor Odinson ALIAS: The God of Thunder, Donald Blake AGE: Ancient OCCUPATION: MEMBER GROUP: Asgardian AFFILIATIONS: Asgardian, Avengers POWERS AND ABILITIES: - Asgardian Physiology, Known even amongst his own people as a man of the highest physical caliber, Thor possesses every power bestowed on the Asgardian and then some. Seen as one of the strongest amongst his own kind, he's able to easily launch anyone with little effort whatsoever. And whilst he is not fully immortal, his constitution is at such a high level that it's nigh impossible for ordinary beings to end his life. - Peak Asgardian Strength, Even amongst the Asgardian race itself Thor is regarded as one of the strongest people in Asgard, even without the power of Mjölnir he is stronger than many of his kin, but with the power of the hammer his power grows exponentially and enables him in going toe to toe with some of the mightiest beings in the universe, for example with his bare hands he was able to stagger a rampaging ‘Hulk’, and with Mjölnir in hand he was able to topple a leviathan with a single blow from the hammer. If he was to use all of his strength and the full power of Mjölnir, the results could be catastrophic, and as a result Thor must always show restraint in employing his strength. - Mjölnir, Being the current chosen being that is able to wield Mjölnir to its fullest abilities, he can use the mighty hammer to even further enhance his already mighty power in combat. But he is also able to manipulate the weather, and even conjure up mythical blasts of lightning to bring his foes to their knees. Using his power he can also swing the hammer around and use the force to propel himself through the sky at crazy speed, either as a way to travel or to propel himself and the hammer as a torpedo. Finally with the hammer being the source of his ultimate power, losing the hammer for too long of a time can weaken him and even cause him to lose the power of the weapon, and end up being 'only' as mighty as an ordinary Asgardian. PLAYBY: Chris Hemsworth OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: Marty AGE: 25 GENDER: Male TIMEZONE: GMT +1 OTHER CHARACTERS: Megan Hopkins , @shiroiakuma , Kayley Ryan [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES: - Mjölnir, 'Its name is not Mjuh Mjuh!' Bestowed on him by his father, and the ruler of Asgard, Odin. Being the man worthy to wield the mightiest weapon in the arsenal of Asgard. The hammer bestows him the strength becoming of Thor, without the hammer he would simply be less than a man, he has lost it before and it taught him an important lesson in humility, he shall not lose its worthiness a second time. - Jane Foster, 'I give you my word, I will return for you.' Although his father Odin does not approve of his feelings for the mortal Midgardian woman named Jane Foster, she is in fact the love of Thor's life and every minute not near her feels like a stab to his heart. Even if Asgard does not approve of their love, he shall forsake anything to be with Dr. Foster. - Asgard, 'Brothers and Sisters of Asgard, I shall defend you.' Even though his interest lie more with Midgard, he shall always be a child of Asgard until his last breath. His brothers and sisters of his race are dear to him and he shall always defend his people through battles. In its hour of darkness he shall be there amongst his brothers and sisters in arms to man the battlements and fight back any invader that dares attack the mightiest of all realms. - Midgard, 'You people are so petty... and tiny' Ever since he was young he was fascinated with the people of Midgard, and although they have not worshipped Asgard in nearly a millennium, he still watches over the realm with a keen eye, knowing that there are many dangers that humanity is not aware of. Although he might come across as condescending, arrogant, and aloof to the plight the humans face from all sides, he knows that he cannot interfere and must let humanity fix its own problems, so that it can grow strong on its own. - Loyalty and Courage, 'I would rather be a good man than a great king. The virtues of the warrior are the ones that he exemplifies through and through. He rather be honest and kind to the people around him, give them a chance of redemption, rather than force destruction and servitude on them. He sees weaker people as sheep that need a shepherd, rather than peasants that need ruling. He will uphold these morals through almost anything, and admires anyone that exhumes these same characteristics. - Odin Allfather, 'Do not dishonor my father’s name with your lies!' The King of all Asgardians, and his father. The one man that he feels inferior to in might and character, his father has shown to be a wise and tough ruler, not afraid to teach even his own flesh and blood a lesson in humility when Thor was flying too close to the sun. Although Odin does not approve of Thor's interest in Midgard and the human female Jane Foster, they both know that Thor will one day rule over all of Asgard as its King. - Battle, 'Break their spirits so they’ll never dare to cross our borders again.' Although he sees no point in the bloodshed and terror that war brings, he still revels in battle and seeks to write his name in legend as the finest warrior that has ever lived in Asgard and all of the nine realms. He hears the story his father Odin has fought, and he dreams of being in battles greater than his and championing the day and scoring a victory for Asgard. And although Asgard is at peace, he still looks for battle wherever he can go, perhaps this is also the reason why he has taken such an interest in Earth's Avengers, and their fight against all forces alien. - Lady Sif, 'Live, and tell those stories yourself!' His relation with Sif has always been a complicated one, but he sees in Sif one of the finest warriors in Asgard and is honored to be able to fight side by side with the finest shield-maiden to have ever lived. He knows how much Sif cares for him, but he sometimes does not realize the true depths of feelings the Goddess feels for him. And her feelings are not reciprocated by Thor. Thor also knows that Odin seeks the two together, and that further complicates the relation between Thor and Sif. But ultimately his heart does not belong with Sif. DISLIKES: - Loki, 'Loki, stop this madness!' Thor and his brother Loki have always had a troubled relationship with each other, going back as far as they were little. Thor has always been the apple of his father's eye, whilst Loki has always felt jealous and lonely not being the chosen successor for the throne of Asgard. When his brother found out his father was actually Laufey the Frost Giant something snapped in the trickster and he sought to take control of Asgard for himself. And despite foiling his plans, he managed to escape and later seek control of Midgard instead, even going as far as orchestrating a Chitauri invasion to assert his dominance over the human race. Even though Loki failed his second attempt at domination, and the bitterness and hatred Loki shows towards his brother, Thor truly believes that Loki can still be redeemed and will always seek to give his brother chances he otherwise might not deserve. - Frost Giants, 'When I’m king, I’ll hunt the monsters down and slay them all! Just as you did, father.' The sworn enemies of Asgard since time immemorial, the Frost Giants have always had a very special place for Thor's dislike. He is not a man to harbor grudges, but despite all that he sees the Frost Giants as a menace and a danger to not only Asgard, but the entirety of the nine realms, and will always be wary and mistrusting of the Frost Giants as they have proven to be untrustworthy in their dealings. - Orders, 'Do not touch me again.' Whether they are orders from humans, other Asgardians, or even his own father Odin, Thor does not appreciate being pushed around by anyone. He's simply not a man to be bossed around and will often do what he thinks is the right course of action, even if it's not the right course of action. Thor is stubborn and headstrong, and has a proclivity of wanting to show that he is as might as legend tells he is. This also means that he will be gone for long times without anyone knowing where he is or what he is doing. - Senseless destruction, 'You can’t kill an entire race!' Even though he loves battle and warfare, it is not for the destruction of life. Battle for Thor is for the thrill and honor of battle. Despite his reckless nature, he has wizened up over the years and seeks to have peace with all people, even the Frost Giants. And he shall stop anyone or anything that tries to cause destruction and terror in all the nine realms. - Being without his powers, 'This mortal form has grown weak. I need sustenance!' Being a human taught him a great lesson in humility, but it is not a phase in his life that he would like to relive. The frailty of humans disconcerts him and simply does not fit in a person that lives for combat and warfare, and seeks the glory in battle. Not having the possession of Mjölnir is something he cannot imagine suffering through for a second time, and he shall do everything in his power to stay worthy to wield the hammer. STRENGTHS: - Mjölnir, The mightiest weapon in the Asgardian arsenal is Thor's greatest weapon. Being the current chosen person that can wield the hammer, he can use it to great effect to fight his enemies and produce blasts of lightning that can topple even the biggest of foes. And even though there are a select few other people in the nine realms to be worthy of wielding the hammer, anyone who isn’t deemed worthy by the hammer will simply be unable to move it, regardless of their strength. Without Mjölnir he still his powers are still formidable, but greatly diminished in comparison. - Legendary Warrior, Written about in Norse legends, Thor is one of the mightiest warriors in all of the nine realms and has the strength and guile of a warrior that has only a few that are equal to him. With his powers so mighty, he is able to go head to head with almost every opponent in existence and walk away a victor. - Peak Asgardian Physiology, Even the weakest of all Asgardians are born with physical gifts that outclass even the finest ordinary humans, but Thor is the very opposite of weak amongst his people. Even in battles that he loses he is near invulnerable, and any injury he does sustain will heal in an extremely quick amount of time that leaves him able to fight longer than anyone else, and not feel any negative effects from being hurt or even tired. - Allspeak, All Asgardians have the ''Allspeak'', which allows them to communicate with every being in all of the nine realms as if they were speaking in his own language. For anyone he speaks to he simply sounds as if he's fluent in the language they are speaking. - Loyalty, Honour, and Courage, Being the legendary Thor, he defines these three aspects the most and wears them with great pride. He shall never leave his allies in danger, and shall always make sure to protect his friends, allies, and all life equally. He shall never try to lie or betray people, and he shall always carry himself in an honest and honorable way. WEAKNESSES: - Pride, Arrogance, and Impulsiveness, Despite being honorable, and despite the lessons learned when he lost his powers. He has never truly lost his pride and his almost reckless impulsiveness in all his doings. He is easily ticked off, and he will often rush off into battle and situations that need a thinking man to deal with. He simply lacks the patience, and believes that many problems can simply be fixed by brute force... And it is easy for enemies to have him do foolish actions by simply hurting his ego. - Thick Headed, As an Asgardian he enjoys superior knowledge of the human race, but he does not often shows this intelligence towards anyone. He is slow of learning, and when something can't be fixed through brute force he can quickly be stumped and forced to rely on the intelligence and smarts of other people. He's just a bit slow, but he has no problem admitting that people like Jane Foster, and Erik Selvig are smarter than him. - Jane Foster, The frailty of the love of his life is not lost on him, and he knows that bitter truth that he shall see Jane Foster grow old and perish whilst he will look as young as the day they had met each other. And his feelings for Jane Foster are ones that can be easily abused by anyone with a lack of morals and simply wishes to seek Thor to be weakened or pained. Jane Foster is perhaps the only thing that he would forsake everything for, even the loss of his Asgardian longevity. - Loki Laufeyson, His brother is a troubled individual, and despite all his transgression towards Asgard and Midgard, he still truly believes that his brother can be redeemed. Whatever might happen, he sees Loki as family, and the fact his brother is of Frost Giant birth and 'adopted' is something he simply does not care for. Family is to be cherished, and he shall go to Hel and back if it meant he could find a way to redeem his brother and bring him back into the family that loves him unconditionally. GOALS: - Make sure that Loki stays on his current path of redemption, and keeps helping the people of Midgard. Although he will always be wary of his trickster nature. - Protect the nine realms from all that seek its destruction, regardless of how powerful they might be he will always be prepared to sacrifice his own life for the people he has sworn to defend. FEARS: - He always fears that his father might one day banish him from Asgard for some of his actions, and he does not wish to lose his grasp of Mjölnir, and the realm that is his home always. - The death of the love of his life, Jane Foster. He always fears hostile beings will use her to get to Thor, and he is always afraid that she might become a victim in the wars he fights. - The destruction of Midgard by a power he cannot stop. - Loki once more falling to the temptation of his trickery and deceit, abusing his abilities to gain power that Loki is not worthy to wield. Even though his brother has apparently turned over a new leaf, he knows that his brother’s nature might mean there is more beyond the surface than helping others. OVERALL PERSONALITY: As a young man Thor was often impetuous and destructive, seeking combat at all costs and not caring for the pain that war would cause everyone. He cared more about gaining glory through combat and seeking battle, rather than showing restraint and humility. And despite learning a big lesson when he was banished to the earth the first time, he still retains some of the pride and arrogance that caused his first fall from grace, his quick-temper still being a painful and easily exploitable blemish in his character. Despite those weak points, Thor is still greatly charismatic and charming towards his brothers and sisters and arms, and everyone else he meets. Even on Midgard people often look past his eccentric behavior (in comparison to human behavior), and will quickly learn to like the Asgardian and find him a quick man to befriend. Although he has a quick temper, he is not one to be angry often and even shows optimism when everyone else has lost hope and sees only fear. His positive and excited demeanor can sometimes even be described as childlike, especially when confronted by the prospect of battle. And his unwavering positivity goes a long way in his natural leadership ability, as he is able to lead by example and keep everyone in his company in high spirits and motivated, despite whatever might be happening around them. He has shown more wisdom over the past years too, after learning important lessons when his father Odin banished him to Midgard and he had to learn about the true frailty of life when it was his own life at stake, being reduced to Midgardian physiology caused him to become more humble as a result. But even then people still chide him over a lack of wisdom and foresight, and even after all his lessons his impetuosity tends to be a leading trait. Finally Thor is fiercely loving and loyal to the people he counts as his friends, family, and kin. Being the crown-prince of Asgard he sees himself as an example to every other Asgardian, and he will do his best to lead the best he can. He will protect them with all his might, and will easily give up his life in protection of the realm. Even through the strained relation with his father Odin and brother Loki, he shoes an unwavering love towards them despite all that has happened. And despite all of Loki's crimes he still believes there is something inside Loki that can be redeemed, even if Loki sometimes fails to see it himself. But regardless of his general loyalty, he has often shown only a flaky devotion to the Avengers initiative, oftentimes disappearing for long stretches of time without the Avengers and SHIELD knowing what he’s doing or where’s he has gone. Additionally his fierce stubbornness often comes into conflict with the organization, often ignoring orders and instead doing what he feels is the best course of action. OVERALL HISTORY: Being a being that lives nearly five-thousand years, even in his ‘younger’ years he has left a lasting impression on the people of Midgard, which is shown in the human legends of the Old Norse and Germanic religions that focused on worshipping the people of Asgard. And from a young age on he has always sought to be the strongest, bravest, and mightiest warrior in all of the nine realms, even going as far as hiding his true nature in an attempt to fight alongside the Midgardian people during their Viking era. As a young boy he was always brought up hearing the stories from his father Odin, of the mighty and epic battles with the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, and as one of the main successors to the throne of Asgard he knew that he wanted to be known as a great warrior before he could become a great ruler, and as a result he took every attempt to find glory in battle, whether that was going on adventure with his sword brothers, the Warrior Three, or find other ways to help and find glory for himself. From a young age he was loved by many, and despite his father not yet having chosen a successor, many saw Thor as an easy choice to eventually ascend to the throne of Asgard. With his abundant charisma, natural leadership ability, and prodigious fighting skills, he was really the definition of the Asgardian spirit. Growing up, Thor was raised mainly alongside Loki who – as Thor was unaware of his brother’s jealousy and growing hatred – he considered to be his best friend and playmate. He knew of course that they were rivals for Asgard’s throne, however he never considered that Loki took such great offense to his natural, assumed heritage. After all, it was neither Thor’s fault that he had been born first and neither was it reasonable for Loki to get so upset about it. Thor insisted, unaware, that Loki accompany him anywhere his father sought fit to send him. He always included him even as his group of friends grew, and sought sometimes his advice and council when things didn’t go as he liked or wanted as Loki always seemed to have all the right words. As he grew older, he also grew bolder, prideful, and impetuous. Aspiring to become a greater warrior than his father, and seeking all ways to become a warrior of such great stature. With his band of warriors in Loki, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, and Lady Sif he fought many battles, yet these battles felt nothing compared to the always held wish to fight the true enemy of Asgard, the Frost Giants. His over-confidence and arrogance turned into recklessness as one day he secretly rode out against the wishes of his father, and talked Heimdall in sending him to the realm of the Frost Giants. When he was there he quickly lost his temper and started a massive battle on the turf of the frost giants themselves, his recklessness causing him to forego any sort of common sense in favor of blindly seeking glory and fighting the biggest possible foe he could find. After a costly battle for the Jotuns he and his comrades were still outnumbered by the many Frost Giants that sought to destroy the young and impetuous Thor. But fortunately for all, Odin stepped in at the last second and put a halt to the battle, but the damage was already done as the threat of war had once more returned to the peaceful realm of Asgard. Having brought shame to himself, his comrades, his father, and all his kin. He lashed out at Odin's attempt to teach him a lesson, and in a final attempt to have Thor see the light Odin took away Mjölnir and stripped him of all his Asgardian powers, banishing him to Midgard until he found a way to redeem himself in the eyes of his father. Falling to earth, he ended up being hit by a team of Jane Foster, Eric Selvig, and Darcy Lewis, who see in him a madman who has truly lost his mind through his insane ramblings about being a god... In a bid to return his power, he barged into a SHIELD field facility to reclaim Mjölnir, but there he realized he could no longer lift the mighty hammer and truly had lost his worthiness to be the god of thunder. Additionally Loki appeared and through deception claimed that Odin had passed away, and he would never be able to return to Asgard if he didn't want to provoke a destructive war with Jotunheim. Knowing he is stuck on Midgard, he is helped by Jane Foster and her friends to get used to life as a fragile human being. And in their time together Dr. Foster and Thor grow close and develop a romantic bond, with Thor fully being ready to accept his fate and live a human life on Midgard with Jane Foster. But the peace was quickly broken up when his shield brethren (sans Loki) appeared and made clear the deceit and treason his brother had done to come into power, and they had come to Midgard to return him to Asgard to put an end to Loki's madness. But before that could happen Loki intervened by sending a destroyer to stop Thor and his comrades, but not wanting any of his friends to come to harm he sacrificed his own life so the rest could live. In that moment Mjölnir activated once more, and once more saw him worthy to wield the might hammer of the thunder god. Having regained his powers he defeated the destroyer, and proceeded to go back to Asgard to put a stop to Loki once and for all. After a hard battle to stop Loki, the Bifrost is destroyed and Loki lets himself fall into the abyss as the Rainbow Bridge collapsed all around them. Peace seemingly returned, but with the Bifrost destroyed he was unable to return to Jane Foster, who continued to search for him regardless of the Rainbow Bridge's destruction. But finding out Loki was still alive and was seeking to use a tesseract to attempt to take over Midgard, he had to spring back into action and through dark energy Odin sent him back to Midgard to find and stop Loki once more. On earth he came into confrontation with a group that named themselves the Avengers, and not knowing their motives he fought Iron Man in an attempt to regain control over his brother, but fortunately Loki could not escape during the fight between Thor and Tony Stark. But it all was a ruse from Loki, as the Avengers become divided about their plan of action, a possessed Clint Barton and other agents attack the Helicarrier causing a battle to rage. Thor is forced in a fight with the green monster The Hulk, and during all the chaos Loki is able to escape with the tesseract. As the Avengers are reeling after the violent breakup of their team, Loki strikes in New York by opening a wormhole to lead a Chitauri invasion of New York. Knowing they had to act, they find a way to work together once more and came to the rescue of New York, and in their actions prevented Loki from once more trying to rule one of the nine realms. With Loki once more in his custody, Thor leaves his newfound allies and returns to Asgard to have Loki stand trial for his actions. After Loki was imprisoned and interrogated on Asgard, the prophecies of their brother Baldr painted a disconcerting picture, Ragnarok was coming and it would hit Midgard with all its might. And realizing they needed all their might to stop it, Loki offered to return to earth to atone for his actions by assisting SHIELD in preparing for the impending disaster. Despite Thor’s reservations about trusting Loki after his actions in New York, and on Asgard itself, Odin made the decision for them and sent Loki back to Midgard with Thor being ordered to keep his eyes on him… But that wasn’t the only decision, to the shock and dismay of Thor his father decided that Baldr was to be the new chosen heir to Asgard due to Thor’s disinterest in truly commiting to being the heir himself, partly caused by his feelings for the human Jane Foster which his father Odin strongly disapproves of, instead wishing his son favored an Asgardian for marriage. With these two choices made, Thor returned to Midgard together with Loki, with the latter showing a true desire to rehabilitate and show Thor and everyone else that he has truly turned over a new leaf. But Thor is still skeptical, and with Ragnarok nearing ever the sooner, his attentions are whisked away from Loki as he himself decides to hunt down leads regarding the impending disaster.[/PTab][PTab=IMAGE][/PTab][/PTabbedContent={width:485px;border:0px;margin-left:-2px;}] |
