Whether it be standard pistol like 9mm or using a .50 Cal Sniper Rifle, Grant is quite capable when it comes to hitting his target where it needs to be hit. Hand to Hand Combat - Grant's Hand to Hand Capability makes him as deadly unarmed as he is when he's carrying a firearm. An Expert in Hand to Hand he can match opponents skilled unarmed, blow for blow as well as disarming a target just prior to subduing them. Making him just as deadly close range as he is from a distance with a firearm. PLAYBY: Brett Dalton OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: Ruin AGE: 26 GENDER: Male TIMEZONE: US and Canada (Eastern Timezone) OTHER CHARACTERS: (Once played Logan and Simon Stanton before real life got in the way) [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES: Hydra Although Some might view Hydra as something terrible, he on the other hand thinks that Hydra has to be one of the best things for both him and the world. He was in a bad place when he was brought into Hydra and they made him into the person he is to do which is a person who can hold his own and keep himself from being vulnerable as he once was. The World would be a lot better off in the hands of Hydra than shield because Hydra would do what needs to be done to keep the world from spinning out of control like it is today. Women Although he doesn't allow himself to feel too attached. Grant like most men likes women and finds them somewhat of a good distraction from his true mission. From actual flings to charming women, Grant can't help but like being with women. Being Independent Although Grant is actually a Team player fro Hydra, he does enjoy doing things on his own. The more people involved in a mission, the more chaotic it can be. But when it just him, the mission will be so much easier to complete without having to concern himself with the well being others. Not to mention he likes to think for himself rather than deal with the opinion of others. The Mission Although He's deceiving a lot of people about his true ties, Grant can't help but enjoy his true mission to Hydra. Hiding in plain sight, fooling everyone into thinking he's someone he's not. He can't help but take perverse pleasure in the idea that no one truly knows what's lurking within shield nor who Grant Ward really is. The Action One of most favorite things he likes about missions in Shield is the action. The trouble he finds himself dealing with that can be simple or just plain dangerous. He likes slipping into hostile environments to eliminate threats. Seducing targets to gather information or swiping something dangerous that is well protected. There is just something just so enjoyable about it all. DISLIKES: Working for Shield After Spending so much time under Hydra, Grant can't say he likes working for Shield. It's got so much resources at it's disposal yet they don't do what needs to be done as far as Grant is concerned. The Organization concerns itself to much with moral or governments that Shield holds itself back from doing what really needs to be done to get the world under control. Not to mention Agents like Phil Coulson are too weak, allowing their emotions to cloud their judgement to easily. His Family His Childhood has to be one of the things that Grant doesn't take about and that is because of his family. After his rough patch with him he can't say that he likes any of them anymore, even his younger brother who was a victim too. His parents were easily manipulated. His older brother threw everything he had done on him and his younger brother didn't say one word about the truth. So at this point Grant has to say he dislikes his family and might even plain hate them for his terrible childhood. The Past His past is not something he likes to discuss. The fact of the matter is that Grant has a lot of secrets that he keeps close to the chest because quite frankly it's hard to maintain the image everyone sees if they know about his history. But it's not just about that or the bad memories of his life that makes him dislikes discussing it. It also has to do with the fact he thinks talking about the past gets you know where and that it's better to focus on the present or future than worrying about what may lay in the past, especially his past. His Cover Grant can't say he likes his current cover all that much. Although most of his cover ring true, the whole boy scout thing is rather annoying. As if the not-play-with others facade that he's supposed to maintain. He understands why he needs to maintain the cover but he can' say he likes being the Mr. Save the Day that cares about others than himself. Being in the Dark As an Agent there is a lot he doesn't know and on some missions for Shield he's kept in the dark about certain things he should have probably been told. He doesn't like being kept out of the loop and it annoys him when he learns about what people neglect to tell him. STRENGTHS: Master of Deception and Seduction As both an Agent of Hydra and his training as an espionage Agent in Shield, Grant Ward is trained to use both deception and Seduction. The Former of which he uses on a daily basses. Hiding the truth with well placed words or convincing lies. Hiding true intentions and tells that would expose him for the liar he is. And then there is using his charm to win over women to gain people's trust for whatever the mission might require. He's a Master at both and unless the person knows who he really is, they can easily find themselves fooled by Grant Ward. Multilingual Like a lot of Agents of Shield he is well versed in more languages than English. In espionage you need to know the language otherwise your a pretty terrible spy. Grant is well verse in many languages like Russian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and perhaps many more. But not only though is he multilingual but he also can alter his accent and speak the languages fluently fooling people into believing he is anything but American. Expert Spy Grant is said to be one of best in Espionage next to Black Widow and some other notable Agents. Back in Operations he scoured high enough marks which has put him near the top of list when it comes Espionage Missions. From Marksman to Actual Spy work, Grant is quite skilled at all of it making him a good agent, or double agent in his case. Grant knows how maintain cover and handle himself when a situation turns dangerous. WEAKNESSES: Selfish Although he might appear selfless, the truth of the matter is that Grant is anything but. After his rough childhood it's not really all that surprising that Grant has become a person who is concerned with himself more than anyone else. And he isn't above using other people to get what he wants. This makes it hard for people to relate to him and makes him sometimes easy to manipulate when it comes using his selfishness to get information from him. Feelings Although Grant has tried to keep himself from forming attachments to people especially those in shield since at some point he might end up betraying them, that doesn't mean he feels nothing. He hides it well but Grant does sometimes generally care about some people when he's been around them long enough and that can make him hesitate when he really shouldn't. Feelings are weakness when your Hydra Agent and that could hurt him if he lets them cloud his judgement like it does for Actual Agents of Shield. Unstable Although Grant appears to have a level head the truth is that he is probably like a dormant volcano. He's likely to blow eventually. After everything he's been through it's impressive that he's kept it together. But the truth is that he's only able to maintain himself because he cuts himself from his past and buries his true emotions. However the point may come where the mold will crack and when it does he will probably snap which could very well turn him into a full blown sociopath or something worse. GOALS: Completing the 'Mission' Aka the return of Hydra. Remaining Undetected by Agents of Shield. FEARS: Feelings, They are a weakness. If his training in Hydra has taught him anything is that Feelings are likely to leave you vulnerable and he's afraid of getting too attached because whoever he might care about can easily turn on him. Or break him. OVERALL PERSONALITY: Grant Ward true self is rather a frightening person. Selfish describes him very well. He might play the Agent of Shield who actual cares about other people but the truth is that Grant could care less about anyone but himself. If push comes to shove he will look out for himself most of all. Friendships and Relationships are means to end. So not only is he a selfish person but he's also manipulative and doesn't seem to really care about consequences for said friend or lover. So Loyalty other people aren't high on his list of priorities. There is also anger buried deep under his self control. Mostly for his family for his childhood. Although he's not someone who has a big temper it's possible that he might at some point explode and make his family pay for all the troubles he has gone through in his life. Basically blaming them all for the twisted man he has become. His Loyalty to Hydra seems strong. He feels grateful to them for making him into the man he is today and because of that despite not being particularly loyal to other people he still maintains a great deal of loyalty to organization. Not to mention he sees them as something the world needs. With all the conflicts int he world it would be easier if Hydra was there in place of Shield because they wouldn't hesitate to eliminate threats. Not to Mention rather than reacting like Shield does, Hydra would be the one taking control of world and eliminating problems before they happened. His distaste for Shield stems from the fact that he sees them too caught up with emotions to do what needs to be done. Sure he has seen the good shield can do but the fact of the matter is that it is too caught up in politics to do their job effectively. Shield is too focused on borders and laws to make use of their spies effectively leaving the world vulnerable. Not to mention they don't even notice Hydra in their ranks so obviously Shield needs to be replaced if it can't even see the foreign eliminate in it's own ranks. Although he might seem all bad it may be entirely possible that buried under all the darkness that there may be some good in him. He does actually care about some people even if he hides it well and maintains that he doesn't truly care about people. Grant does have some feelings for people and does care about the well being of select individuals other than himself. But whether or not he will actually look out for the well being of others above his own is hard to say. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Unspecified RESIDENCE: Place in New York PARENTS: Unspecified and He has general dislike and hatred for them. SIBLINGS: Thomas Ward (Younger Brother), Senator Christen Ward (Older Brother), Unspecified Sister IMPORTANT RELATIVES: None to Note IMPORTANT PERSON: No One at the Moment OVERALL HISTORY: Grant Ward's childhood was terrible. Although on the surface to people outside his family would blame him for everything bad that happened the truth is something that no one would believe about his family. People when they look at his brother the Senator and his family they think that everything was perfect. And the Grant Ward was just a troubled youth starving for attention. But the truth is that things were bad and Grant was abused by his older brother Christan. Maybe not physically but his brother treated their younger brother terribly and Grant was forced to take all the blame while his older brother was considered a saint. That left some serious emotional scaring and his time in juvenile facilities made him hate his life. It was at that facility that Grant's life truly changed. When a man named Garret came to him and offered him a chance to be free of his past. Grant didn't trust the man at first. When he had taken him out into the wood than left him there with just a knife and a dog, Grant wasn't sure what to think. But rather than running away back to civilization, he stayed. And survived without any real supplies. Garret visited him from time to time but for the most part he left Grant alone allowing him to be independent. Which made him respect Garret and when the man returned years later to offer him a place in Hydra he didn't hesitate. Although he might have when Garret told him to kill the dog he had bonded with in those woods, he still did what was asked of him. Afterwards his Training began. His training was complicated. Both his training as a secret Hydra Agent and becoming an operative for Shield. Deception wasn't something that came naturally. Like Hand to Hand and Weapons training, it takes time and effort to be able to hide the truth. To tell people a lie with a straight face or fool lie detectors but with time and patience. It along with all the other training that came with being an Espionage agent wasn't easy. But grant managed almost master all the training and gain high Marks when he graduated to an Actual Agent of Shield. Being a double agent in an organization like Shield is interesting. Maintaining a facade to fool his co-works and completing assignments along side his missions for Shield isn't exactly easy. But Grant has been easily able to pull them off. Making him easily one of best in both organizations. He was the agent that was sent to deal with situations alone that would normally take teams. IF a target needs to be eliminated, Grant was the man for the job. Acquisition of something in hostile environment. Grant was near the top of the list. It is only recently that things have gotten interesting. The Attack in New York forced the Director of Shield to create the Avengers which combined with Mutants and other Superhumans makes the world a lot more dangerous. Nick Fury has been building bigger and better weapons which Grant has heard may allow for Hydra to finally take center stage and take down Shield. However Grant's objectives isn't the rise of Hydra at the moment, he's been directed by Garret to get Close to Coulson. Who's formed a team of his own that may become a problem when Hydra makes it's move. [/PTab][PTab=IMAGE][/PTab][/PTabbedContent={width:485px;border:0px;margin-left:-2px;}] |
