[PTabbedContent][PTab=GENERAL INFORMATION] CHARACTER INFO: NAME: Aquaria Nautica Neptunia ALIAS: The Sea Beauty, The Sea-Woman, Lady Aquaria, Namora (she is not fond of this one) AGE: 97 OCCUPATION: Atlantean General MEMBER GROUP: Superhuman, Mutant POWERS AND ABILITIES: Amphibious Adaptation: She has the ability to survive under water or on land indefinitely, harboring gills behind her ears to breath when underwater and lungs that have developed to breath on land as well. On top of that, she also has superior eyesight that allows her to see in murky depths, and can withstand extreme temperatures with ease. She does need occasional contact with water to survive though. Superhuman Strength: Aquaria is superhumanly strong, and can lift approximately 75 tons, possibly more in water if she is also pushing herself. She becomes weaker the longer she is outside of the water though, and is only at full strength within it. Superhuman Speed: She can run at speeds about 50 mph on land, though she really shines in the water, being able to swim at approximately 300 mph. It should also be noted that she is just marginally faster than her cousin as well in the ocean, a point she enjoys bragging about. Superhuman Stamina: Her body creates considerably less fatigue toxins compared to humans, and even other Atlanteans, and can keep doing strenuous activities for over several hours without having to take a break. Like with many of her other abilities though, the longer she is away from water the weaker she becomes, and will exhaust faster. Superhuman Agility: Aquaria’s agility is way beyond even the finest human athlete’s, being extremely graceful both in and out of the water (although much more so in it). Superhuman Reflexes: Allows her to dodge, or even catch slower moving objects, making her difficult to hit by average human standards. Superhuman Durability: It is difficult (though not impossible) to injure Aquaria, easily surviving being shot by high caliber bullets, falling from great heights, or even being hit by powerful energy blasts. Naturally, the extreme exposure she faces in the water from both temperature and pressure do nothing to phase her as well. Healing Factor: In the water, she can heal quickly, even more so than normal Atlanteans. While she can do the same outside of water as well, it is slowed, although still fast by human standards. The longer she is away from the ocean though, the weaker this ability becomes. Extended Longevity: Atlanteans have an average lifespan of approximately 300 years, and she is no exception to that. Aquatic Telepathy: Capable of telepathically talking to (intelligent) aquatic lifeforms, she can hold a conversation with them, and even get them to aid her if they feel so inclined. Flight: She can fly at superhuman speeds, and if she pushes herself can even keep up with military aircrafts, though only for a short time. Heightened Senses: Along with her advanced eyesight mentioned above, she also has extremely sensitive hearing (so gossiping behind her back is ill-advised). ”PP NAMOR” Sense: While not a true power, Aquaria seems to have the uncanny ability to sense when her cousin is getting himself (or Atlantis as a whole) into trouble, or alternatively just causing trouble. PLAYBY: Natalie Dormer OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: Query AGE: 20+ GENDER: Lady TIMEZONE: EST OTHER CHARACTERS: Tabitha Smith [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES: Whales: They're such gentle, ancient creatures, and she loves to listen to them talk. Aquaria is also fiercely protective of them, and will make any whalers regret their choice of occupation. Her Cousin: Namor can be difficult at times, but she has a special bond with him, and they're closer to siblings than cousins, really. Human Accents: Some are quite pleasant to listen to, not to mention she gets endless amusement out of humans trying to pronounce Atlantean words. Her People: It should go without saying that she cares deeply about the Atlanteans, and wants to protect them above all else, no matter what it takes. Wit: She doesn't tend to suffer fools for long, and she prefers someone who can keep up with her intellectually. A pretty face will only get you so far with her (though if it's pretty enough, perhaps farther than she'd like to admit). Fruit: By Atlantean standards, Aquaria possesses a sweet tooth, and while she still can't stand most candies, she does enjoy fruit, even if it took her body a while to properly digest it. DISLIKES: Namora: While she adores her cousin, the laziness in which many surfacers exhibit by merely referring to her as “Namora” (an apparently “feminized” version of her cousins name) instead of using her name is both insulting and disgusting. So, in short, don’t call her Namora unless you want to start something. Pollution: Fairly straightforward, especially when it comes to the ocean, considering it has killed many of her people already and could very well be the death of her one day. Human Architecture: It’s so drab compared to what she is used to. All concrete and grey—it has no life to it, and certainly no personality. Misogynists: While she is not a fan of any kind of bigots, misogynists have a special place in the crack of her ass. Aquaria does not tolerate being seen as lesser merely because of her gender, and even implying something like that will most likely result in a lot of pain for the offending party. Pettiness: She doesn't like petty people or arguments, and will nip them in the bud before they even start. Dairy: Betty tried introducing her to it, but there is nothing quite so disgusting as throwing up dairy products, along with chunks of Alfredo. Even the smell can make her slightly nauseous if strong enough. STRENGTHS: Confident: Aquaria has complete faith in her abilities, and does not often second-guess herself. She is good at commanding peoples attention, and self-assured enough to make others want to trust her. Level-headed: She is very sensible, and can stay calm even under stressful or otherwise unpleasant situations, not usually losing her cool unless faced with some sort of severe trauma. Typically she is seen as the voice of reason among her people, managing to stave off most of the more detrimental knee-jerk reactions, unlike some of her family. Passionate: The female tends to feel very strongly about things she believes in or cares about, and it comes through loud and clear in her personality. Not typically one to back down, she will argue or fight for what she believes in, even if everyone else is against her. Intelligent: She excelled in most of her schooling, and has always had a very strategic mind. That on top of her cool demeanor and common sense, she is quite an intellectual force to be reckoned with. Loyal: Above all else, Aquaria is extremely loyal, especially to her people. They always come first, and she would never do anything to harm or betray them. The same can be said for her family, as well as her friends, making it unwise for anyone to mess with them unless they want to face her wrath. WEAKNESSES: Blunt: While she can be tactful, Aquaria is much more prone to speak her mind whenever she feels like it, and doesn't usually sugarcoat her words, finding little use for such niceties in most situations. This can lead to her offending others (typically surfacers), though she has little remorse over that. Conceited: She has always had a high opinion of herself, being used to praise, getting her way, and having been born into royalty. Aquaria definitely sees herself above others, especially humans, and can sometimes treat them more like pets than (supposedly) intelligent lifeforms. She can become easily offended if someone sees her as lesser, and will deal with them swiftly and most likely painfully. Fiery: While slower to anger than some, she is still quite a firecracker and can hold grudges. When she is truly angry though, it is best to stay out of her way, and if you're the one that angered her...well, groveling might work. Imprudent: Being Atlantean royalty, she can get away with murder. Literally. This can make it difficult for her to really care about the consequences of her actions, seeing as she is nearly untouchable. Offhand: She has a habit of speaking to others in a very nonchalant or dismissive manner, even authority figures. GOALS: Aquaria wants to reach an understanding with humans so they can live together in peace, without having to shed any blood in the process, though she is not so idealistic to believe this will actually happen. Still, whatever it takes, she will protect her people and make humans stop polluting her home. Also, she one day hopes to make a name for herself and stop living under her cousins shadow and being referred to as "Namora". FEARS: Becoming the new Ruler of Atlantis. She has no doubt she is a fully capable leader, but the thought of losing her cousin is not a pleasant one, and she knows it would change her, something she would prefer not to do. OVERALL PERSONALITY: Even from a young age, Aquaria has had a good head on her shoulders. She is a natural leader, and confident enough in her abilities not to crack under the pressure, managing to make quick decisions without being too rash. She is flexible though, and can also take orders from others so long as she deems them capable and worthy of her respect, otherwise she might try to strong arm them into following her lead instead. If someone manages to gain her favor though, she becomes fiercely loyal to them, occasionally to the point of detriment. Even if they’re in the wrong, she may still defend their decisions or back them up, especially when it comes to a certain irritating Prince and conniving Lady she knows. Typically amicable, she is one of the more approachable Atlanteans, and will reserve her disdain for others until after she has spoken with them. Often times she views humans as stupid, injured birds, needing protection and mending more than anything else. Will they fly into her window again? Probably, but eventually they’ll either learn or break their own necks, and no longer be her problem anymore. Until then, she finds them rather amusing, and enjoys the praise she receives from the ones she rescues, and the cowering from the ones she doesn’t offer. Aquaria is one of the few Atlanteans that is actually capable of lying, though she does not often choose to exploit this fact, and is typically brutally honest like the rest of her people. On top of that, she is also rather blasé about it, exhibiting a very dismissive demeanor when talking to most. Some would call her disrespectful, and honestly, she wouldn’t really argue with them, though she doesn’t view many as being worth her full attention anyway. The fact she is acknowledging them at all should be an honor, really. Of course, she does have a much more volatile side, and it would be a misconception to think she is soft. Aquaria can be terrifying, and often brokers no room for argument when she has decided something, and attempting to challenge her ruling can quickly derail into a fight, verbal or otherwise. Even if she loses, she may very well do what she wants anyway, not one to allow herself to be cowed by others. The female sticks strongly to her ideals, and while she may decide to change them of her volition, no one else can force her to change her mind. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Maritanis RESIDENCE: Atlantis PARENTS: Nalis (Father, deceased) SIBLINGS: N/A IMPORTANT RELATIVES: Prince Namor (Second cousin) Lady Dorma (Fifth cousin) IMPORTANT PERSON: Talan, her now deceased husband. OVERALL HISTORY: Aquaria was the result of a human and an Atlantean courting, and although it was no more than a fling, she was still the product of it. Her mother was unable to rear her, so her father was more than happy to take on the task, returning to Maritanis with a beautiful baby girl. No one aside from Nalis knew that she was not full Atlantean, and he made sure to keep it that way, for his daughters sake. Many did not like surface dwellers, and he did not want his daughter to face such prejudice at such a young, especially since news about the young Prince Namor and his heritage had travelled there and was met with disdain from many. Thanks to her father, she grew up as any other child would. Many still questioned her about her mother though, after all blonde hair was not something any full Atlantean seemed to possess, but her father always halted the inquiries as quickly as they came, and Aquaria herself did not seem to mind only having one parent, after all he always promised to tell her of her mother once she was older. As Aquaria grew, she showed much promise, and wanting to give her every opportunity possible Nalis decided to move them to Atlantis itself, where he was greeted by his cousin and Queen with open arms. This is where she met Namor for the first time, and she immediately garnered a poor opinion of him when he tried to refuse to play with her because she was a girl, but Princess Fen gave him little choice in the matter. Her own father also insisted she get to know Namor, so begrudgingly they stuck together. They were joined by Namor’s other friends, and it was not long until they were getting her into trouble. She was much more sensible than the boys, but trying to reason with them was like trying to talk to a Jellyfish (although, at least the Jellyfish had the excuse of possessing no brain, unlike her cousin who just seemed to not want to use his). During one of their outings, they decided to explore a submarine that had sunken into the oceans depths, and while attempting to show off Namor managed to get himself stuck in a torpedo tube. Aquaria had to step in, exhibiting her (surprising) poweress and freeing him, while simultaneously earning his respect. After that, the two became as thick as thieves, and spent much of their adolescence together, along with Dorma who decided to join in on their troublemaking, much to Aquaria’s chagrin. Namor was enough of a handful, after all. Once her schooling was finished though, she moved back to Maritanis with her father, albeit it slightly reluctantly, having grown close to her cousin, Dorma, and many others in Atlantis. Now an adult though, Nalis finally revealed to his daughter that she was only half-Atlantean, and that her mother was a human. She suddenly understood why both him and Princess Fen were so keen their children becoming friends, and it also explained why she seemed to be much stronger than most Atlanteans, her cousin of course being the exception. Aquaria was not put off by this news though, and did not shy away from telling people about her heritage. It was initially met with some shock and disgust, but that soon faded into indifference, especially when she did not give them the satisfaction of even being bothered by any of their comments or scandalized stares. Things were going good for the young woman, even finding a potential beau by the name of Talan, but before it could go anywhere news of Princess Fen and Lord Thakorr’s death reached them. Aquaria tried to go to her cousin, but in his grief and anger, he had flown into a rage that even she was unable to calm. She went through her own mourning, having viewed Princess Fen as a mother figure, but forced herself through it anyway. She decided to make herself useful, traveling to the different Atlantean cities and helping the people out there as well, doing her best to help keep order while her cousin grew into his place as the new Atlantean leader. It was not until her cousin had calmed down a little that she actually traveled to the surface world with him, finding the sights…well, a bit underwhelming to be honest, but intriguing nonetheless. She found Namor’s sudden change in dress (specifically the fact that he actually wore something now) odd and insisted she too cover up, considering how apparently squeamish the surfacers were about nudity. It did not make any sense to her, but Aquaria agreed nonetheless, even if she did find it rather uncomfortable and unnecessary, though humans seemed to liked to wear layers of the suffocating fabric. She was also introduced to Betty Dean, who she immediately took a liking to, and could tell her cousin was smitten with the woman, even if he himself hadn't realized it yet. While still primarily residing in Atlantis to help out while Namor was busy with the war and his continued attempts to woo Betty, Aquaria still found time to visit the surface world whenever she could, curious about the other half of her heritage. She became fast friends with Betty, deeming the woman more than worthy enough to be with her cousin, and hoping she may just humble him a little as well. On that front, she was definitely not wrong. Aquaria had her own flame to kindle though, becoming closer and closer to Talan who had traveled to Atlantis shortly after her, though she was hesitant to enter a relationship at the time. He did not seem to mind waiting for her, instead merely offering her friendship and support. On top of that, Aquaria also began to help with the warfront on the surface, though not as much as her cousin did. Perhaps because they had taken to calling her “Namora”, after Namor, and while the comparison was not abhorrent she found it rather distasteful to merely liken her to a female version of him. That on top of their obvious gender-bias was a rather large turn off, and did not usually leave her feeling particularly inclined to go out of her way to help them, unless absolutely necessary. Besides, Namor was more than capable of handling it himself anyway. When the war finally ended and things calmed down, Betty and her cousin wed. Feeling like her friend would be able to keep Namor under control, she returned to Maritanis with Talan, where they continued courting. A year later they were engaged, and four months later they were happily married, much to her fathers joy. Several blissful years passed, and Aquaria began to talk with her husband about starting a family, something she had always wanted to do once she was old enough and had found the right paramour. Unfortunately, their marriage did not get a happy ending—a large earthquake struck Maritanis, destroying the city and killing both her husband and father in it. Aquaria was lucky enough to get away with only minor injuries, but now heartbroken and homeless she went back to Atlantis to lick her wounds and grieve. It took her months to regain any semblance of normalcy again, and a couple years for her to even want to look at another person romantically. She spent much of her time with Betty Dean, the two bonding and terrorizing Namor whenever the chance would arise. She began going off on her own more, at first just to explore, but then she started to help people. Saving sailors from sinking ships, rescuing others that got swept up by the oceans currents from drowning, or helping to repair submarines. It felt nice to be useful, and they were always grateful for her help, but not everything she did was quite so benevolent. Aquaria had little time and patience for people who hunted in the sea, sinking many whaling ships, and even bullying ships out of parts of the ocean that were getting overfished. Anyone who did not comply with her wishes did not get to see her better side. Aquaria could be just as ruthless as her cousin, not taking threats to her home lightly. She became renowned among sailors, both loved and feared, and quite enjoyed the attention, even if most mistook her for a mermaid or siren. When she heard of Betty's illness, Aquaria decided to put a hold on her adventures to stay with with her old friend, especially since Namor had become obsessed with finding a cure for his wife. When it became clear that nothing could be done and Betty finally passed, Aquaria did all she could to comfort her cousin, but knew that that she could only offer so much, remembering her own husbands passing and how nothing seemed to make it better, aside from time to grieve. Things only escalated when the Ixtoc Oil Well burst, spilling oil all over the ocean and killing both animal and Atlantean alike. Her cousin reacted predictably, and before she knew it they were at war with the surface world. Aquaria was one of the leading Generals in it, and while she did not harbor as much ill-will toward humans as most Atlanteans, she also found it hard to forgive the pollution, especially so soon after losing a dear friend. A year later with many victories under their belt though, Namor chose to abandon the war thanks to a letter the now deceased Betty Dean had written just in case he decided to do something like this. Understandably, people were much less trusting of Atlanteans now, so she decided to focus on helping her people once again and avoid humans for a time. Many had grown ill from the oil, others had gotten separated from their families, and most welcomed the sight of royalty coming to their aid, or at the very least to stay with them while they moved onto the afterlife. After things cooled down a little, Aquaria once again went back to her adventuring ways, saving wayward sailors and killing anyone dumb enough to try and illegally fish in their waters. She still makes visits to the surface world, especially now that her cousin has become so notable within it. Unfortunately, the name “Namora” has seemingly stuck, something she hopes to remedy.
