[PTabbedContent][PTab=GENERAL INFORMATION] CHARACTER INFO: NAME: Peter Jason Quill ALIAS: Star-Lord AGE: 34 OCCUPATION: Pilot / Guardian of the Galaxy / Ex-Ravanger MEMBER GROUP: Superhuman POWERS AND ABILITIES: Pilot: Learning the fly a ship is crucial for any serious space explorer. Peter is no exception to the rule. That being said, he is considered a top class pilot, able to fly almost anything and excels at maneuvering his vessels. Marksmanship: The ability to aim a ranged weapon well. Quill is an excellent shot, his choice of weapon are two Kree sub-machine guns. Alien Hybrid: Peter Quill's father is an alien of unknown ancient origin. This swirl in his gene pool has given him peak human physiology along with longevity. Basically, his endurance, stamina, strength, agility and mental processing are at the top tear for a homo sapiens sapiens PLAYBY: Chris Pratt OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: Cobb AGE: 21 GENDER: Female TIMEZONE: CST -6 OTHER CHARACTERS: N/A [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES: His Tapes: When Peter was a child, and his mother was alive, she used to make him mix tapes. She'd get all the songs she enjoyed together, and put them on a personalized playlist for her son. All she wanted to do was share the songs she loved, with the person she loved. After she died, and Peter was taken into space, the tapes she gave him was all he had left of his mother. They are his most cherished possessions. Women: And not in the good way. Peter Quill is what some might call a womanizer, pelvic sorcerer or man slut. Getting laid is a fun way to pass the time, but getting to know about the woman isn't on his top priority list. He really has a problem when it comes to remembering the names of his latest lay. Dinosaurs: It's a secret obsession of his. As a child he use to collect toy figurines of the pre-historic Earth creatures. Books about dinosaurs were almost exclusively the only thing he'd read. The other thing he read being books about space. His mother used to joke that he'd become a paleontologist when he grew up, just so he could play with dinosaur bones all day. Dancing: Dancing frees the soul. Plus it makes for an excellent stress reliever. Alyssa Milano: The actress, famous for her role in the eighties television series "Who's The Boss." She was his childhood crush. He even named his ship after her. DISLIKES: Thanos: The root of his problems. iPods: He understands the appeal to this device. It allows people to store more songs. The universe has many other things things that do approximately the same thing, but he's never been into them. They just aren't as personal. No one hands people their iPods and go "Here borrow my new awesome mix." Plus he find that digital just doesn't sound the same as his analog counter part. Modern Music: Once again there is a digital problem here. Upon returning to Earth, Peter was super stoked to get his hands on some new music. That's when he learned about autotune. It just doesn't have the same vibe as the music he's come to know and love from his mother's cassette tapes. That being said, he's still found a few songs that he can get his jam on to. Uptown Funk, Shake It Off, and Shut Up and Dance are all tunes that he's found himself enjoying. Bra's That Button Up Front: Imagine this, you're in the heat of the moment, clothes are coming off, all that's left is the final tedious task of removing a bar. Now, Peter is no stranger when it comes to removing a bra, but when he reaches around only to find no claps back there it makes him look an idiot who doesn't know what he's doing. That's not the vibe he wants to give off to his partners. A'askavariian Girls: They have tentacles, and needles for teeth. Sure, they might have good personalities, but really does he have to explain himself on this one? STRENGTHS: Alien Hybrid: It might be a new discovery in the life of Peter Quill, but his Terran blood is mixed with an ancient alien race that Nova Corps couldn't identify. However, these genetics do give him enhanced strength, agility, durability, mental processing, and stamina. While it's not enhanced to the extreme, it is about the same a normal human could achieve if they worked on it their whole life. His alien genetics also gives him longevity. Master Strategist: Peter Quill might not act like it but he's always a few steps ahead. He's quick on his feet, with even quicker thinking. If it's a plan someone needs, Peter is the one to go to. Not that he'll broadcast that, in fact he seems down right unintelligent to most people. All part of his master plan of not getting people to pay too much attention to him. Slight of Hand: Don't believe you're getting something if Peter is handing it to you. He'll claim it's a Ravanger thing. After all, when everyone keeps trying to take what you got. Don't believe that. None of the other Ravangers have the skill down, and he manages to fool everyone with it. Pilot: Some call it dumb luck, others say it's mad skill, either way Peter Quill is who you want behind the wheel during tough flying. He knows his way around a ship. WEAKNESSES: Emotionally Distant: Peter doesn't do feelings. He doesn't share them, he doesn't talk about them, and he sure as hell does not acknowledge them. They are just annoyances that get in the way. He'd much rather concentrate on other things. Good: As a mercenary, and general outlaw, being good isn't exactly the best thing to have on a resume. When he gets hired, it's to do a job. Not to worry about such things like 'the destruction of worlds' or 'death of millions.' Being good really hinders getting a job done in a timely manner. Unorganized: It's a problem. Trying to find something on Peter's ship is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It's a miracle that he manages to get anything done. GOALS: Find Rocket: Rocket was kidnapped by his creators, right from under their noses. The Guardian's managed to track him back to Terra, but they're having trouble pinpointing where on Earth. Their main reason for Quill going back to Terra is getting back his team member. Search for the Infinity stones: That's right, Peter Quill is on the search for the infinity stones. After seeing first hand what the power stone can do, Peter began searching for the others. As one of the universes's residents he wants to make sure that the stones don't end up in the wrong hands. Rumors reached his ears that some infinity stones have been spotted on Earth. After decades of being away from his home planet, he finally made his way back to help? Hinder? Well, do anything it takes to make sure the stones don't destroy his home planet and by extension the rest of the universe. Reconnect: It's been years since he's seen his family. His mother might be dead, but he had other family. A grandfather, aunts, and uncles. All of whom he only has the faintest of memory of. He's always been curious if he ever became one of the missing kids on a milk box, and meeting up with the family seems like a solid way to find out. Plus, now that he's got a greater understanding of the universe and knows that his father wasn't an angel, he hopes he'll be able to find some clues about his mysterious heritage. FEARS: Peter's greatest fear is that he will lose everyone he care about, and prove to be the galaxy's biggest fuck up. Look, he knows he makes mistakes, he knows he's far from perfect but if he can't do his job, if something he does causes his crew to die then he's failed. He wouldn't be able to live with himself after that. OVERALL PERSONALITY: A first glance at Peter Quill would show any curious persons a fun loving guy. Someone who just wants to get out and dance. Maybe flirt, probably bring home a few women. Peter is often seen as someone who can't be serious and doesn't pay attention to whats happening around him. That, is just the image he wants to broadcast for people around him. Peter is actually very serious about his job, and always on alert. Not much gets by him, even though it looks like he's just wasting time goofing off. When he sets off to do something, he always gets it done. His word, while it may not be up to boy scout's honor, is something he tries to upkeep. With exception of course. Peter is shameless and unapologetic. He lives life the way he wants to with minimal regard to the people around him. His music is constantly blaring, his ship is habitually messy and his jokes are hardly funny. That's just the way he likes to live life. Peter goes out of his way to not become attached to people. Attachments are messy. People leave. People die. It's better to stay detached and unhurt, then love and lose. He tries to keep himself at a distance from others. Sure, he'll be friendly, he'll make "friends", but at the end of the day he doesn't want to become attached. Of course people slip through his walls. His crew, for instance. There is something about almost dying that really brings a group of people together. Once more he has found himself with people he wouldn't want to see hurt, and that scares him. He worries about the calls he makes, and if it'll put them in danger. It would kill him if anything he did hurt killed the people he cared about. Not that he'd let them know that. He maintenance his easy going, careless personality around them. Life's just easier that way. At the end of the day, Peter is a good guy. As someone who lives in the universe, it's his job to help keep it safe. Plus, he's got nothing better to do. Crime is good and fun, but not at the expense of other people's lives. He doesn't kill lightly. If he can help it, he'd prefer that people just get knocked out. That being said, if it's a choice between someone else and him, he will not hesitate to make sure he's the one left standing. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin. RESIDENCE: The Milano. Yup, that's right, Peter Quill lives on his ship. It's portable home for any world. PARENTS: Mother: Meredith Quill, deceased. Father: Unknown SIBLINGS: N/A IMPORTANT RELATIVES: Yondu Udonta might not be related through blood, but Yondu was the closest thing Peter has to a father figure. After Yondu picked him up from Earth, he taught Peter everything Star Lord knows. From piloting to fighting, Yondu was Peter's mentor. Sure, he makes a few threats about letting his boys eat Yondu, but what family doesn't have their quirks? IMPORTANT PERSON: The Guardians. With everything they've been through, it's hard not to count them as important people. He's got their back, and he knows they've got his. Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot are his family now. A weird family that fights all the time, but family. OVERALL HISTORY: Having a child out of wedlock in the seventies, while it wasn't unheard of, was not the norm. Having a child out of wedlock, while not being able to identify the father was the real problem. "He's an angel." Meredith would tell anyone who would listen. That just caused even more problems. Rumors would fly that she's crazy, that she wasn't in the right mental state to raise a child. Everyone was worried about her. Her father made her move back in with him. He needed to keep a closer eye on his daughter. He wasn't cruel, but he wasn't kind. He was a hard working man, tired from years of work and ready for retirement. Retirement that he wasn't going to get now that his daughter needed his help. Still, he never complained. He never complained about anything life through at him. Life hadn't been an easy fairy tale for him. His wife died in childbirth and he was left to raise Meredith and her siblings alone. He never remarried, because he knew he'd never be able to love someone as much as he loved his wife. When he found out Meredith was pregnant, there was no joy. His daughter, his little girl, was spewing crazy words. She was saying that her son's father was an angel. All it left him with was worry. Still, he took his daughter in, he helped raise her son, and he took care of his family. That was a man's job. That was what he would do for his family willingly. Meredith was whimsical. Life was a game, an adventure, and she wasn't doing bad at it. At least, that's what she always thought. Her son, Peter, was the joy of her life. She'd do anything for him. All the money she got from her part time job was spent on him, all her free time was devoted to him. He was her best friend. Watching him grow up was a blessing in itself. She got a long with her father, and was thankful to him that he supported them. She always knew her father was a good man, and knew she would never be able to pay him back for everything he'd done for her. But she also knew she wanted to be as great of a parent for her little Star-Lord as her father was to him. Childhood for Peter wasn't a bad time. He had a mother and a grandfather that loved him. They were both supportive of him in their own ways, and it was a loving environment. Peter did well in school, he had friends, he was a normal boy. That was until his mother got cancer. Watching his mother die was the hardest thing Peter had to do. He spent most of his time in denial about it. Choosing to pretend that everything was alright, and his mom was going to be fine. Listening to the tapes she'd given him instead of sitting by her bed table. It was hard seeing his mom like that, but not as hard as the moment she died. Nothing in life has ever been as hard as the moment she died. He remembers the night vividly. It was also the night that he was picked up by Yondu and the Ravangers. That was terrifying to say the least. One moment he had been in a closed off world, next her was surrounded by aliens. It was a shock to learn that aliens weren't the green big headed creatures that media represented them to be, but that wasn't as big of a shock as learning they were real. Peter quickly learned that the alien in charge was a guy by the name of Yondu. He was blue, loud and always threatening to feed Quill to his crew if he didn't fall in line. He also learned that the group who picked him up went by the name Ravangers. A group of mercenaries, who do pretty much whatever they want as long as there was some units to be picked up in the process. Units being money device in the galaxy. They were a loud and rowdy bunch, but all of them had something to teach him. It wasn't long before Peter was flying ships, firing guns, and living every scifi fantasy earth could ever conceive. They trained him to be a Ravanger, and hell, he became a pretty good one if you ask him. His piloting skills were top notch, his aim was great, and he found he was good at taking things that belonged to others. It was the perfect job for him. He tried making a name for himself doing it. The name he tried making for himself was Star-Lord but despite his best efforts, it never stuck. The day he got his own ship was the day he decided to make it on his own. It was time to leave behind the Ravangers and find his own way. Of course it doesn't work like that. Once a Ravanger always a Ravanger. Yondu was constantly calling him about jobs to get done. Jobs that he didn't need, he could find his own jobs, but he still found himself doing the job's Yondu gave him. It was on one of those runs that he found the power stone. Back then he didn't know what it was the power stone, all he knew was it was an orb containing something that Ronan the Accuser wanted. And anything Ronan the Accuser wanted was something worth value. Quill took it to the Broker. The Broker was an alien who set up shop on Xander. He would take the Ravanger's questionably obtained items and sell them to his high paying clients. He was discreet, and perfect for any job really. That was until Quill mentioned that Ronan wanted the orb. He got all huffy about not wanting anything to do with Ronan, after all, Ronan was on some power trip trying to destroy the Xandarian nation. Kicked out and rejected, Peter was left with the orb. That's when he met Gamora. Gamora could have been the woman of the night, but that wasn't her interest. She was interested in the orb, and honestly almost got away with it, if it hadn't been for Rocket and Groot showing up. Rocket and Groot were after Quill for the bounty that Yondu put on him. Yeah, skipping out on Yondu must have made him pissy enough to put a bounty on Quill's head, but hey, all is fair in love and ravanging. The four's public display was not missed by the Nova Corps, who picked them up and threw them in the Klyn. The Klyn is a giant floating space prison where the Nova Corps likes to send wrong doers. They can do whatever they like to each other on the inside, as long as they stay inside. Putting Quill in, with Rocket and company was the Klyn's first mistake. It's second mistake was touching his cassette player. No one touches his cassette player. It was at the Klyn that Quill learned who Gamora was. The adopted daughter of Thanos, out on loan to Ronan the Destroyer. As a Ravanger, Peter didn't normally concern himself with galaxy politics. As long as he avoided the law, and got his job done the galaxy could do whatever it wanted. That was not the same for the other Klyn inhabitants. People knew who Gamora was the moment she set foot in the joint, and were ready to take her down on sight. Drax the Destroyer was one of these such people. Quill stopped him from killing Gamora by promising Drax he could tag along with their motley crew and confront Ronan when he came after Gamora. Drax agreed, as Ronan was the one who killed his wife and child. Now all they had to do was escape prison. That turned out to be easier done then said. Rocket had successfully escaped multiple incarcerations, and got a plan to get them out together. Sure, the plan went off a little sooner then expected, but they made it out. Next stop was Nowhere. Literally, it's a place called Nowhere. Once upon a whatever it was a celestial being, now it's just the decaying head of that being, that people do illegal stuff in. The black market was popular there. They went there to meet up with The Collector. The Collector, as his name suggestions, likes to collect rarities. He was prepared to give Gamora a large sum of units for the retrieval of the orb, and that large sum of credits was going to be split between Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Quill. Unfortunately things didn't go as planned when The Collector was telling them what was in the orb, he told them about the immense power that the power stone possessed, his servant girl got it in her head to try to use that power. It caused a huge explosion. They realized then that the power stone was way too powerful to just give to anyone. They had to give it to the Nova Corps. They were ready to leave when they hit another road block. Drax had called Ronan. That's right, Drax in all of his literal stupidness, had summoned one of the most powerful men in the Galaxy right to them. This battle didn't go in their favor. Ronan left Nowhere with the power stone, and Gamora and Quill found themselves in the possession of Yondu and the ravangers. Yondu was as happy as ever to have Quill back, and went through his usual routine of yelling at him and reminding him that he was the only reason the Ravangers didn't eat Quill as a child. Quill was having none of that, not today, not when Xander was in trouble. Peter managed to convince Drax, Gamora, Groot, and Rocket into helping him stop Ronan. Together they came up with a plan and presented it to the Ravangers. The Ravangers were in, with one stipend, they get the power stone when all was said and done. There was no time to argue it, and there was nothing else they had to offer. So, the crew agreed. The plan was simple. The Ravangers would do everything they could to keep Ronan from landing on Xander, and Peter, along with Gamora, Drax, and Groot would get onto Ronan's ship, and kill him. Simple, easy. They could do it. Everything went relatively to plan. Gamora got an unplanned encounter with her adopted sister Nebula, and the others battled it out it out with Ronan's soldiers. Outside the battled continued. Nova Corps joined the battled, creating a net of ships to keep Ronan's ship, the Dark Aster from being able to land, while doing a full evacuation below. Inside the Dark Aster, they made it into Ronan's inner chamber, everything was set up, and the shot hit Ronan perfectly. It just didn't do anything. They were no match for Ronan, and probably would have died there if Rocket hadn't crashed the Milano into them. The Dark Aster crashed into Xander. If it wasn't for Groot's self sacrifice, creating a shield of branches around them, the team wouldn't have made it through the crash. Everything seemed hopeless at the moment, laying on the ground, hurt, groot dead. They'd failed in keeping Ronan off Xander. They really were losers, but that wasn't going to stop them. They still had a chance. Rocket started repairing their weapon, while Quill, in all his genius, started dancing. "Ooh child, things are going to easier. Ooh child." As a distraction, it worked. Ronan watched confused as Peter made a fool of himself in front of him, and everyone watching. It was all the time they needed, Drax fired the weapon at Ronan. It hit his staff, dislodging the power stone. Quill managed to catch it. The energy that went through him was all encompassing, and terrifying. It was giving him power while tearing him apart. He wouldn't have been able to hold it for long, if his team, the Guardians of the Galaxy as Ronan had called them, hadn't joined hands with him, sharing in the power of the stone. They harnessed the power to destroy Ronan, before slipping it back into a protective orb where the power wouldn't be unleashed. They'd done it. The group of losers had actually managed to save the day. Yondu came to claim his orb. Quill didn't give a fight, instead he switched the orbs, giving Yondu an empty one and sending him on his way, reminding him not to open it because the power would destroy him. The real power stone was given to the Nova Corps. The Nova Corps expunged them of all their previous wrong doing, and remade the Milano for them. The now Guardian's of the Galaxy went on their way to find their own way in life. They traveled for a bit, rumors of more infinity stones reached their ear. The infinity stones were on Terra, or Earth as they called it. At first Quill wasn't going to do anything about it, they got their stone, and did their saving, someone else could take care of the rest. But Rocket's creators came back for him. It took awhile to locate what planet they took him to, but no man gets left behind on Peter's crew. Well, no rodent in this case. Rocket was on Terra. Damn Terra and their lack of intergalactic equipment. The crew made a B-line for Terra, headed there to find their missing team member. If they happened to pick up some infitiy stones while there? Well, better them then Thanos. [/PTab][PTab=IMAGE][/PTab][/PTabbedContent={width:485px;border:0px;margin-left:-2px;}] |
