[PTabbedContent][PTab=GENERAL INFORMATION] CHARACTER INFO: NAME: Steven Grant Rogers (Cap/Capsicle/Steve) ALIAS: Captain America AGE: 95 OCCUPATION: Superhero MEMBER GROUP: Avenger POWERS AND ABILITIES: (Referenced from: marvel-movies.wikia.com/wiki/Steve_Rogers_(Marvel_Cinematic_Universe) ) Super Soldier Serum The Serum with which he was injected has caused him to be forever at the peak of human physical ability. His strength is an impressive but often downplayed part of his abilities, as he manages to lift near 1000 lbs, and sometimes more than that. His speed, stamina, and agility are equal and even better than could be considered of Olympic athletes, with incredibly fast reflexes to complete the bundle. Not only that but he is also incredibly durable, with thick bones and skin that can manage to withstand far more than any average person might. While he is durable, his body also has the incredible ability to heal as fast as could be possible for a human being (although nothing like wolverine), which leads to the theorization that his aging process could be retarded, which is why he looks like he’s in his thirties when he’s 95. Training A big part of what makes Steve Captain America, is the training he has received from multiple different areas. He has undergone advanced military training, learning not only all of the basic fighting skills, but also how to use most guns and vehicles, as well as in depth strategies and tactics. During his time with the Howling Commandos he picked up several things, including basic knowledge of French (possibly German as well), and some basic training in several different martial arts, although he will always be more comfortable with boxing. However the one thing that makes it possible for Cap to be who he is, are his leadership skills, as he brings his team together and makes it all work. Shield After having acquired his unique shield, Steve learned how to wield it, but also how to use it in throwing maneuvers. He was already known as an expert marksman, and now he used his impressive intelligence to calculate trajectories in the blink of an eye, so that most every time his shield returns straight back to his hand. PLAYBY: Chris Evans OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: Dreamer AGE: 19 GENDER: Female TIMEZONE: GMT -5 (I think) OTHER CHARACTERS:None yet. [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: OVERALL PERSONALITY: ISFJ In so many ways Cap could easily be considered cliché. The epic hero of old, the one who could be considered the foundation for so many heroes in the days of today. What people seem to forget is that he is still a person, as legendary as he may seem. Yes he is a hero, although he refuses to call himself that. He’s known for trying to give other people credit more than himself. See as much as Cap is noble and heroic and all that, it is not something he does consciously. Instead it is one of those ingrained things, those things that to him should never be a question. If there’s ever a point where people need protecting you do that. He dealt with Bullies too much for his own liking, and as he has made abundantly clear he hates them. Mostly he wants to save other people from having to experience what he did. He sacrifices his happiness for the happiness of others, because that’s just who he is. Kindness and gentleness are just things that come from him naturally, unless you show yourself to scorn those things. If you don’t show respect or care for him, its likely he will do the same to you. Although Cap is known for his bravery and strength, he is still careful about what he does. He is not rash, going into things without thinking, at least most of the time. Yes he realizes that in some cases you cant have a perfect idea of what is going to happen, but he adapts and tries to be intelligent in dealing with shifting situations. He is actually incredibly adaptable, which is why he was able to wake up 70 into the future and slowly adapt to the new atmosphere. No this does not mean he doesn’t have issues, of course he does, and every day he continues to learn new things about the world he is living in, but he has a strong will and keeps on going. His will is one of his greatest traits, because no matter what happens he will always keep fighting. No matter how tired or how beat up, or how much stronger the opponent is, he does not bend his head, he does not bow. It is this strength of will and mind which originally drew Erskine to him, as well as his heart, and also quite possibly one of the things that made it possible for the serum to work as well as it did. Steve has strong morals, and is always honest about how he feels, or ends up saying nothing at all. He’s not necessarily super outgoing, although he’ll never say no to a conversation and doesn’t object to meeting new people, although he’ll be careful when first getting to know someone, as he cant be sure to trust them. One thing is for sure though, once you are his friend he would protect you at all costs, his loyalty being one of his stronger traits. In several ways he is also seemingly more innocent and uptight than would be considered normal in the current time, as he is still adjusting to having passed nearly 70 years asleep. LIKES: Sketching One of Cap hobbies and quirks is his love of sketching. He developed it more after he woke up, at first to sketch scenes from his memories while they were still fresh, so that he could continue to remember later on, and then to catalogue the strange new world he had come to. His favorite mode is basic white paper and pencils or charcoal, and his favorite thing to draw are usually realistic people, although he will occasionally draw random things for comic relief. Running You would think that because Cap’s body naturally stays fit he wouldn’t necessarily worry about getting exercise, but it seems that he still intensely enjoys running. It could easily be that he just enjoys the sense of freedom that it gives him, or maybe he’s just taking advantage of the fact that now he can run, compared to when he was a sickly kid. Either way, it is one of the important elements of his morning routine, and something he intensely enjoys. Dancing It may seem an archaic form of enjoyment, but in a time when options for entertainment were limited, he enjoyed one of the few but quite popular pastimes of dancing. True he never took a girl on more than one date (as charming as he was girls didn’t necessarily want to go out with someone they might accidentally squish if they stepped on), but he definitely learned some good swing. As for what dancing he does, it would definitely be swing dancing, nothing like the more modern dancing (which he definitely looks down on). Sparring Steve is an ever willing learner, and enjoys sparring with teammates and friends to not only exercise, but have a good time and learn something new, so that he might have more to draw on in his next fight. DISLIKES: Bullies Steve grew up a very scrawny and weak child, well at least physically, and automatically became the target of bullies. He couldn’t stand the way they treated him, even though they often would beat him, he would still stand up to them. Those people are the worst kind of people, taking advantage of those who cant defend themselves or force them to stop. Self-Centered People Because he is automatically wired to help people, when he sees people who are self-centered, he cannot help but be peeved at them. How could they focus on themselves when so many other people truly need their help? What gives them any more of a right? Dwelling on the past This dislike is not one that really needs to be explained. After all, if you fell asleep one day and woke up 70 years later, with all your friends and family members dead, you’d want to avoid thinking of the past as much as possible wouldn’t you? Video Games Most of the time Steve doesn’t mind the advances that technology has brought around, but for some reason he has a strange bias against video games. He feels that not only do all the video games of war he sees only further encourage violence, but they also encourage more and more self-centered people. Watching people play games that simulate death in a way he had to experience in real life, as if it were all just something so simple…. He cant stand it. Manipulation Steve hates to be manipulated. There’s no way around it. He doesn’t like to be someone else’s toy or puppet, he wants things straight. STRENGTHS: Humble As mentioned before Cap rarely takes direct credit or prides himself in any of his achievements. He does not think he is better than anyone, and goes out of his way to help others because he can. Strong Morals If anything, Cap has a strong sense of morality, he cares for the people around him, and he would never go against his morals, and do the wrong thing. He takes a firm stand on where he sits. Unbending Cap is not one to take things lying down, and has a will stronger than most any other man. He wil stand up for what is right, no matter who, or what, is in his way. Even if he has to force his way through on his own, he doesn’t back down or turn away, not when he is needed, not when he thinks he has something to do, something to live for. Someone to protect. WEAKNESSES: Lost in Time As quickly as Steve seems to be adjusting to the technology and new life in the 21st century, there is only so much he has been able to learn. True, he has been taught about, or figured out, most if not all of the major technologies, but he will still get stumped and confused, and still has a lot to learn, which can be a major setback if it happens in a time when he is needed. Self-Sacrificing If he thought it was worth it, he would easily give his life without second thought if he thought it would save someone else, which means he often takes unnecessary risks. So far he has evaded serious issue with that, but it is quite possible that because he is not necessarily cautious enough he may get hurt unnecessarily. Naïve It is somewhat amusing, because as much as he hates being manipulated, Cap almost seems to invite it. He is trusting and forgiving, when sometimes he shouldn’t be. GOALS: Do the best he can to protect people. Take care of Peggy… however much time she has left. FEARS: Betrayal For as long as he can remember, Steve has known who the enemy is, he has known who to fight, and how and where. But he also has seen horrible things happen, and is afraid that one day his kindness to other people and forgiveness could lead to ultimate betrayal. It would break him if someone close were to turn on him, to stab him in the back. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Brooklyn New York RESIDENCE: New York City PARENTS: Sarah and Joseph Rogers (deceased) SIBLINGS: None IMPORTANT RELATIVES: At the moment no one related to him is still alive, that he knows of. IMPORTANT PERSON: Single for now OVERALL HISTORY: "What makes you so special?" "Nothing. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn." Steven Grant Rogers was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 4th 1918. Even from nearly his birth it seemed he was destned to be embroiled in war. He was still too young to remember his father when he died fighting on the battlefield in France during Wolrd War I, but as his mother raised for some few more years, little Steve dreamed of one day being like his father, a brave soldier who would fight to protect and defend America. Even his mother, as she wasted away from tuberculosis she had contracted while working as a nurse, could see his fire, but she could also see his weakness. He would be too small, too weak, or so people would tell him. As she entered her last few days some of her last few words to him were “Don’t let people tell you what you can and cant do… because you may be small, but you have such a big heart. Steve was six when his mother died and he was officially an orphan. The young boy was passed around between relatives and close friends, growing up in the same area of Brooklyn he had been born in. It wasn’t long before the boy, who was smart and creative and excelled at school, became a target for bullies. He got beaten up several times, and one day was about to be beaten again in an alleyway some few blocks from his home, when another boy came to his rescue. The boy’s name was James Barnes, but he told Steve to call him Bucky. Bucky had come to Steve’s rescue because he heard the small sickly boy’s brave, but provocative, words to the bullies, and admired the kid’s guts. Bucky and Steve became inseparable friends. "A weak man knows the value of strength, and knows... compassion." About a decade or so later, the world was deep in the throes of WWII, and America had joined the war. Steve, still scrawny and weak, had tried in four different places to get into the army so that he could fight for his country. Bucky had been enlisted, and was soon to be sent off, when Steve gave one final try. Again he was rejected, but then he was called back and introduced to a man named Dr. Erskine. The man old him of a program called the Super Soldier program, which was looking for volunteers. It involved scientific research and a formula of a sort which was supposed to enhance the human body, but that wasn’t what mattered to Steve. What mattered was that he was given a chance. Whisked off to basic training, he faced a long several weeks of basic training, as he trailed behind everyone. But he never gave up, and never faltered. He spoke with Erskine and expressed his desire to be at the front. Not to kill Nazis, but to do what he could to protect his country whatever way he could. Eventually Erskine told the commanding officer in charge of the project that he had decided to choose Steve as the main test subject. The officer, scoffed and said that wars weren’t won with heart, but with guts, and threw a dud grenade at the soldiers that Erskine was choosing from. All of them, believing the grenade to be live, dove to side. Except for Steve, who immediately curled up around it, intent on sacrificing himself for the others. Needless to say he was chosen. During his time in training he met Agent Peggy Carter. She was an assistant and aid to the commanding officer, but she was not like most women, not just there to do some basic work. She was commanding and respectable, and obviously deserved her place in the program, as an agent of her govenrment. Finally the day came for the procedure. With Howard Stark and Dr. Erskine managing the machine, and Peggy and the other higher officials watching, Steve was put into the Capsule to undergo transformation with the serum. Although he felt a rather large amount of pain, the experiment was a success. But Dr. Erskine would not be able to revel in his success for long. The doctor was shot, right then and there, by a nazi spy, who then tried to escape. The new Steve Rogers chased after him, going through extreme lengths to get to the man, only to find the spy to swallow poison rather than submit to the Allies. The experiment had been a success but now Erskine was dead, and Steve Rogers was a novelty. He would have been the first of the great super soldiers but now he was just a toy. “Star-spangled man with a plan.” Peggy and the rest of the military officers who had been working on the project were sent off to Europe, and Steve was given another task. One that he would soon grow to very much dislike. He was branded Captain America, and was used to spread war propaganda for the US, staring in short movies and taking a show tour across the US. One of the features of his show, aside from his American flag themed costume, was a scene where he punched “Hitler” in the face. Needless to say he grew restless. Eventually the tour went overseas, to the battlefront, where he performed for a group of tired and unamused soldiers. They sent him booing off stage, where upon he found that Peggy had been stationed there. He also found out that this was the same regiment that Bucky had been in. A regiment that had lost many men as POWs even then, including Bucky. Afraid for his friend’s life, Steve asked to be included in whatever rescue mission was being concocted, upon which he was told that there was no rescue mission. Unwilling to just leave his friend to die, Steve set out to the facility where Bucky was supposedly being held. Steve saved Bucky, and was confronted by a man who came to be known as the red skull, one of Erskine’s former partners and test subjects. Red Skull told him about an organization by the name of HYDRA which he was the head of, an organization within the Nazi army. An army within an army, whose goals were to seek out new technologies, and then use them to take over the world. For many years after, Captain America would grapple with HYDRA in an attempt to wipe it out. Either way, Cap took the base and saved all of the POWs, and then returned to the original base with a triumphant victory under his belt. He would never be held at the sidelines again. For a few years he fought the threat of HYDRA with a team of specialists called the Howling Commandos that he assembled from several different countries, which also included his friend Bucky. Sometime during this time, Cap gained his shield, a unique mixture of vibranium and adamantium, the only such one in existence. He also grew close to Agent Carter, although they never acknowledged it as more, it was clear to just about everyone else. Unfortunately events conspired against them. In order to finish taking down HYDRA it was necessary that information be found, which meant capturing a higher official. Cap and the Howling Commandos had located HYDRA’s last base, and needed a way in It was to be simple. Well, not simple really, beyonda seemingly basic plan there was plenty of risk. The team would have to hijack a train moving at incredible speeds as it raced along the side of a mountain and ride it to the base. As always things never work out as planned. In the heat of battle, a hole was blown in the side of the train, and Bucky as brave as he’d been hung from only a small metal rung. Steve frantically reached out to his friend, the one person whom he had known and cared for the longest, only to watch him fall to the ice. Steve lost a part of him that day. A part he has never regained. At the base, Cap faced off against the Red Skull, boarding a plan armed with nuclear bombs targeted for several cities. It was an epic battle, and although Steve was able to fight off Skull, he was left no choice but to down the ship in the north seas instead of risking that the warheads might be activated and destroy any cities. He stayed in contact with Peggy through the end of it, promising her a rain check on their dance. And then he fell. “The soldier. A man out of time.” The next he knew, he woke up in a strange hospital room. He could tell immediately things were not what they seemed and broke out of his “room” trying to escape whatever facility he was in. He found himself in New York, but not the New York he knew. A man by the name of Nick Fury, tried to calm him, to assure him that he was safe. He told him that he had slept 70 years. The next few months were long months of recovery. He had to come to terms with the fact that he was now in a completely world, and begin to adapt to a new life. He learned about SHIELD, the organization that his dear Peggy and several others had started and threw himself into their cause. He trained and trained, and although he never shunned human friendship and comradery, he found he didn’t exactly fit as well as he used to. Then came the Avengers initiative. Some strange man, named Loki (who was apparently a god of some sort, although Cap never believed it), had stolen the cosmic cube to make portals, as well as put several people under his spell. Cap, along with Tony Stark, or Iron Man as he was called, was sent to capture the man. After a somewhat confusing but satisfying battle, Loki was captured ad taken back to the helicarrier. In a whirlwind of the next few days the helicarrier almost crashed due to Loki’s mischief, and aliens invaded New York. Cap found himself again in the fight, drawing the ragtag group of superheroes together and making a team. They saved New York and formed close bonds. No longer were they just the super heroes, SHIELD’s pet soldier, now they were heroes. They had saved the world. After that Cap decided to put himself more into the world and more into SHIELD, and began leading teams and missions for Fury. He encountered mutants, and to the surprise of many, embraced them. If anyone understood what it was like to be different he did. And he would always strive to be the best he could. "The price of freedom is high, always has been and it's a price I'm willing to pay! If I'm the only one, so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not." [/PTab][PTab=IMAGE][/PTab][/PTabbedContent={width:485px;border:0px;margin-left:-2px;}] |
