[PTabbedContent][PTab=GENERAL INFORMATION] CHARACTER INFO: NAME: Hela Lokisdottir ALIAS: Goddess and Queen of Hel AGE: Ancient OCCUPATION: Ruler of Helheim MEMBER GROUP: Asgardians POWERS AND ABILITIES: Sorcery, Illusion, Levitation, Astral Projection PLAYBY: Katie McGrath OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: danisaur AGE: 23 GENDER: femme fatale TIMEZONE: Mountain Standard Time OTHER CHARACTERS: Kate Bishop, Bobbi Morse [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES: Sunshine: In Helheim, she doesn't see much sunshine, so when it come around for a week or two throughout the year, she can be found basking in its glorious rays, reminiscing her child hood. Being Queen of Hel: Even though Hela hates the place she is confined to, being the Queen of the Realm isn't so bad. It was a complicated task sometimes, but most of the time it gave her many chances to find the interesting things about the realm that no one would ever know about it other wise. Power: Perhaps this came from being Loki's daughter and the need to prove that his first born was a strong individual, but she enjoys being in a place of power, as well as having the powers she has. Gowns: Usually they are ones she has fashioned herself from things she found around Helheim, but she enjoys them a lot. They make her feel beautiful and regal, just as her father always wanted her to. Family: Family has always been Hela's favorite thing. And that derives from the fact that there is the saying "Distance makes the heart grow stronger." And she believes that of her small family, just like any othe, should be protected and loved. Animals: As a small child she was always fascinated by animals and their differences to humans. She didn't appreciate them as much as she did when her brothers took their animal forms, because she saw the beauty in it. In Helheim, Hela has no technical pets, though there are two crows that keep coming back to her, therefore it's assumed that they are now hers. Her Magicks: Hela knows her magic scares some, and she likes that rush of dominance over them, but all in all her magicks are mostly for her, and things that she likes or needs to do. DISLIKES: Solitary Confinement: being confined in Hel for the first few years of her life had been rather empty and she found the only solace she had was in her dreams with her Father. It was the only place she felt safe, and loved. Helheim was cold and dark most of the time and it was no joy to live there. Helheim: It is her prison. The one place Odin thought she would simply lay down and die in, like every other soul condemned to it. But nonetheless she hates it. Odin: I believe this is an obvious reason. He banished her without just cause, all based on a prophesy no one was actually sure to be true. And she hates him for that. Defiance: Hela knows when she needs to set someone back in line and in fact it irritates her to no end when someone goes against what she has laid out. The Remainder of her flesh: The fact that she has skin left at all was amazing to some, but the shapeshifter magic helped her with that, once she learned how to use it. When in her normal form though, she would rather not have any flesh left, than the half that was still clinging to her body. STRENGTHS: Determined: When Hela wishes to learn something, she won’t just let it be learned and leave it at that, she has to know a lot about it. Also when she sets her mind on something that needs to be done, such as setting Fenris free, she did just that. It also was why she proclaimed herself Queen of Helheim, because she had the drive and determination to do it. Strategist: All of Hela’s planning takes time and is well thought out when she has the chance. And they have possible outcomes also planned in case she has to make quick decisions about them. But it is in her blood as a Queen to strategize her movements. Quick Thinking: If she has to, yes Hela can think quickly on her feet, and devise things in a moments notice, though she still prefers to be able to plan things out. Clever: There are many things that she found to be clever little tricks that she learned with her magic and they just make things seem less dreary in Hel. She is also clever and can be rather mischievous when she needs to be, though there are few people that receive that side of her. Sharp Wit: Her father being who he was, it was no surprise that Hela's wittiness was sharp and quick in the tip of her tongue. Other than looking very similar to him, in many ways this was one of the sure traits that people knew she was his daughter. WEAKNESSES: Fairly Short Fuse: Though she can be rather patient at times, Hela's patience doesn’t last forever. And when it sets her off, her anger is swift and she gets things over as quickly as she can. Prideful: Hela's prose of being Loki's daughter sometimes clouds her judgement when she hears things and it leads to her fuse being cut shorter. No matter what she hears about her family she is more than glad to be who she is, even if it leads to many differences and disputes. Holds Grudges: Prime example of this is the grudge she holds against Odin for casting her out and making a spectacle of it. It only fueled the hatred she has been bottling up for centuries for him. Her ties to her family: Some could look at this as a strength, but most see it as a weakness. She thinks too highly of her family and one wrong word uttered about them gets quick action from her. GOALS:Bring her Family together again: It has been far too long, as far as Hela was concerned that her family wasn’t broken, and she wanted to be able to see her family as an entirety, to feel that love they once had. Prove to the Allfather that she isn't just the monster he that she was: Hela wants to show him, just like her father had, that the Silvertongue's children were not monsters, and were just as capable of being of Royal lineage as much as Thor and Loki were. FEARS: Losing her family: In a way she never really lost them, thanks to their shared dreams, other than Fenris who did not ever join them, but she knew that he was well, whenever she and her Father spoke. But actually losing them, either them being killed, or whatnot, that frightened her more than anything and she would do whatever it took in all her power to prevent it. Complete Insanity: With her 'younger' self with her at all times it makes her wonder if after so many centuries, if it won't actually drive her mad one of these days, and the last thing she wants is Loki to be set free, and her being completely useless to him as a daughter. Being Disowned by her family: She looks at this completely different that losing them because she is scared that after all these years, they won't look at her the same. She has changed so much since being sent to Hel, and being disowned by Loki, and her brothers, would tear her apart. OVERALL PERSONALITY: There are a lot of people that assume Hela is a cold, shut out kinda person. The queen looked at as a hard exterior, and a brutal person when need be. But onc you get past the formalities and shell of a woman, she still has the heart of a child. One that was eager to learn and playful. Hela, especially with her family feels at ease, and smiled a lot. On top of having to put on a cold front as Queen, she felt like it destroyed bits of that playful childlike thing she wanted to hold on to. Because of isolation for so long, she has some small quirks, especially with her speech. These quirks come from the differences in dealing with the dead, rather than the living. Also, from having seem so much death, the idea of it doesn't phase her at all. People live and die every day, and this gives her no qualms about killing if she has to. There is a lot of the time that she analyzing herself and she found that, honestly, she was fairly rounded. There were many things she didn't like about herself, yes. There are also a great many that she does like. Hela's fear of insanity pushed her to find ways to avoid it, such as learning languages from the dead souls who were not from Asgard. She was a quick learner, and found that she enjoyed learning a lot of things. Hela also found that she was wonderful at crafting herself various things from bones and other things left behind, just as her father has done for her. It was he small comfort to remind her of him. Her mastery of sorcery can make her feel above others, but only certain people. In her mind, it gives her an upper hand. In the other hand, Hela knows that she can be cut throat and ruthless when need be. And she also knows that she isn't trusting of anyone, minus her family. It was in someone she trusted greatly that betrayed her, and as such, it takes years for her to be able to trust someone. And her magicks can also be a weakness for her. They have always been something she relied in, and it is something she finds comforting and also a thing that she knows could so easily backfire on her; not that she knows it will, but that it might. As she holds a grudge, revenge is very much something she feels deep in her heart, and he day she wishes to succeed in that revenge and right her families name, considering there was no reason for it except the word of Ancient with the prophesy. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Jàrnvid, technically, but she considers Asgard to be where she was born. RESIDENCE:Helheim, and now the Helicarrier. PARENTS: Angrboða and Loki though Hela does not remember much of her mother because they did not form much of a bond as Loki was given the children when they were very small. Loki was the parent that she looked unto for guidance in everything she did and he was the only true parent she knew. SIBLINGS: Hela considers herself to have three brothers; Fenris, Jörmungandr, and Sleipnir, even though Sleipnir was a magical entity created by Loki, she knew that their magicks were an extension on them so she would consider him a brother, even though all she knows of him is from what Loki has told her. She and Jörm are perhaps the closest of the three main children Loki raised, she also considers herself to understand the pain and resentment that Fen was feeling. IMPORTANT RELATIVES: The only relative that Hela remembered much of and felt anything other than the hatred that she felt towards Asgard, was Frigga. She holds her memories of her grandmother dear even though they were so many years ago. What she remembers of Odin was the last moment before falling through the Bifrost and the fear that washed over her. Nothing more. IMPORTANT PERSON: There is no one currently involve in Hel's life, and at the current moment she prefers it that way. OVERALL HISTORY: Ragnarok. That word was uttered for years before the children even came into existence. Being the eldest of the Loki trio of little ones, Hela appeared to be a gorgeous healthy young girl. In her Æsir form, one could have considered the small one to be a glorious creature. Dark curled locks that could easily have been from Loki’s own head reassured them that she was most definitely his daughter. And, though she did not find out until much later in her life, she was very much a young image of her mother. A strong willed, determinate child, who was eager and feisty to learn. The day that she had ceased to be considered an Æsir by the masses was the day she and Loki had experienced the first episode of her decay. Her heart simply stopped beating beneath her breast and as such her breathing stopped and it, for all intensive purposes, had killed her. Bit there something deeper within her soul that kept her alive and she did not understand it to be some sort of magicks that kept her in the half alive half dead state she was in. And though she was partially dead on the inside, such things did not start to appear on the outside until she was older. Toddling along with her father to everything he needed to do was wonderful and she found her brothers to be wonderful playmates. All the times they were left to their own devices gave them plenty of time to form unbreakable family bonds and she loved her family, though it was broken, more than anything else she would ever love in her existence. She heard some of the whispers of what the trio of them could cause, but all the reassurances from her father eases her worries about it. Hela felt no better pride in her family than her brother’s shifting to their animal forms. Watching them was the most amazing and interesting things she could ever watch and where was nothing that brought a wider smile to her face than seeing them happy. She was just as happy for them about that as she was about finding out the limitations of her magicks, and other things. She accidentally had set one of her gowns on fire before her father put it out and told her all was well. She knew she would have to learn how it worked eventually, and Loki assured her he would teach her when the time was right. The decay started in her extremities; fingers and toes, only on one side, and the odd one or two on the other, and it frightened her, though she hide it as best she could until it began on her face and neck. It was then she could no longer hide it and the seven year old child, faced with the deformity of her body, fell before her father in fear. A father’s love - her father’s love - showed her that it mattered not, as long as all was well. The first time she faced more of the Asgardians, there were gasps and more murmurs about the prophecy and she could do no more than cling to her family for comfort. More often than not, Hela was dutifully by her father’s side, just as a princess would. Three years had shown her just how much decay would be inflicted upon her flesh and she found that though the Allfather was displeased with it, her grandmother was the one to do her hair most of the time. It gave them a chance to bond, and she was a woman that she looked up to the most. Her first meeting with Heimdall had been unplanned of sorts, she had not been needed to sit in on the meeting her father had been called into and thus she had gone to see what she could learn. Unbeknownst to her, Odin has set in motion a plan to rid the ‘monstrosities’ from his kingdom and she was the first to go. Large hands of guards sent after her stroked cold through her veins and she knew something was horribly wrong. Eyes fell on Heimdall and she demanded an answer, as a princess of Asgard to speak with her father that minute. The sound overwhelmed her ears as she looked back and the Bifrost was open. If her heart had still been beating it would have stopped in that moment when she was pushed through. All she could do was scream, though it did no good as she soon hit the cold ground of Hel. Banished. She had been sent here to rot, like the half of her corpse already had, and she did not take kindly to it. Denial, and pain surged through her like there was no other feeling her body could hold. It was damp and desolate in this imprisonment, and the young Hela knew she would either have to make do here, or find a way elsewhere. Try as she might to summon Heimdall, she was denied and as such found that she would have to make do, much to her distaste. In fact after that realization the next thing she felt was fear. Hela knew that she had to do something to protect herself and so she did the only thing she could think of and that was to make herself look as normal as possible. The first thing she worked on was sustaining her shape shifting abilities until she could go a day without it faltering. Then two. And three. And eventually it was a mental trigger she could bend and shift to her will. However, back in line with the story. It didn't take her long to figure out that no one actually ruled over Hel. The 'kingdom'as she learned to quickly call it, wasn't much more than a plane of existence for most souls there. And when she reached out to her father through her mind, and projected herself, after a few failed attempts. She learned more from him in their time apart than she ever would have in Asgard, for the fact that she never had to learn to use her magicks tasks as this. Hela's only saving grace was a young version of herself, young from before the decay and miserynthat had landed her here, tha followed her wherever she went. It wasn't a projection though. I was just a memory that she just lingered on when she felt wronged and pained. Their dream realm, as she called it was the only safe place they could be together without fear of someone finding them. They spoke every night for years and when Fenris would join them, she was more than pleased. It was one of the small comforts she had in her isolation from those she cared for. Though she became its ruler and Queen, Hel was still a prison for her, and she tried many times to see if she could find a way to teleport herself places. That was a trick she had taught herself, and thought she would keep it a surprise for her father, one day. And when she learned of how much he brother was suffering in his banishment she knew she had to figure out a way to help him. Her family was one of the only things that she truly cared for, even here. The now Centuries old woman, having seen so much death and destruction from her small realm in the dark underside of the world, slowly realized that she was succumbing to the isolation. It was more like slight insanity more than a complete breakdown, and as such, Hela used far more desperate measures from the constant sorrow and pain she felt from those lost souls residing in her realm, such as attempting teleportation, though that never worked until she practiced enough, but with trying to focus on what time she could spend with her family, she did that as much as she could. The only comfort she knew, and distraction for herself from the mental plagues, she could give both her brothers was try and be there for them the only way she knew how, without causing issues. Her projection, thanks to Loki and teaching her things in this kind of matter. And though her meetings could only be brief, the Goddess was most pleased to see that even though her brother Fenris was imprisioned, he was still mostly okay. It was actually during one of her projection times to Fenris when she felt something horribly wrong. It cut their meeting short so she could figure out exactly what had happened, and trying to reach out to her father, only finding she was unable to do so cause a slight bit of panic. Losing her family was probably one of the things that frightened her the most, and not being able to make sure they were okay made her feel empty and cold, much like her father had started to feel towards, Asgard, she too felt that disgust in Odin’s actions, and decided to take things into her own hands. It started with small things like flickering into Asgard as a projection for a few seconds, whispering little things to the already paranoid Odin. It was in the alone times, away from concentration on projection, or granting things, that Hela found the time to practice her teleportation. At first it was small distances, but the able travel distance grew exponentially with practice. And though it was rather stressful on her body it was well worth the trip. Unable still to reach her father, Hela devised a plan of what was going on. And it was in the midst of planning that Jörmungandr came to their dreamspace, and she heard of what had happened. It hadn’t scared her as much as the silence had, and it was nice to know that her father was still alive. It took Hela weeks to realize that bodies were entering her realm much much faster, which gave her an inkling that something had gone terribly awry somewhere else, on top of her father’s disappearance and that was when she went to Fenris and told him what she knew so far, which unfortunately was not much. But just as she had made herself a second chance, she was giving him his. With her magicks of Death, she broke the chains that bound her brother, and she told him if he needed her all he had to do was ask. When he came to Helheim with her, she was more than ecstatic for him to be there. And it gave him a chance to see what destruction she knew happened before his journey to Midgard, and she hadn't been sure where to go. Asgard, as Queen and ruler of Helheim to offer help, though she didn’t not think that would go over well with the Æsir, or follow her brother, to Midgard, but with her father and Thor instead, though from what she remembered of Thor, she knew that would not go over well either. What she did know, was she had to make a decision and soon, for there was much more in the balance than finding out what was going on. All the unrest was heavy on her, and the Goddess was going to get herself some answers sooner or later. [/PTab][PTab=IMAGE][/PTab][/PTabbedContent={width:485px;border:0px;margin-left:-2px;}] |
