The nearly instantaneous transformation grants him an enormous amount of strength and durability. His skin takes on a reflective metallic surface and he grows from 6' 6" to 7' 5" and goes from 250 lbs to 500 lbs while still maintaining the mobility he has in his regular form. He is capable of staying within this form for an extended period of time that has yet to be determined he even loses his dependency on oxygen. (He lost patience after 5 days of waiting for results.) Though suspects it may be indefinite. Once he is in this form he remains in it until he either wills himself to change or his knocked unconscious which causes him to change back. Enhanced Strength/Stamina: While in his human for Piotr is capable of bench pressing 700 lbs. He trains like a world class weight lifter and takes great pride in it. In his transformed state he is capable of lifting near 100 tons with effort. His transformed state gives him an increased stamina level, he is capable of pushing himself to the limit for up to two days before being effected by exhaustion. Enhanced Durability: His Organic steel form renders Piotr near invulnerable making him capable of withstanding most forms of bodily harm. Ballistic weapons such as guns and missiles have virtually no effect on him. Years of training in the Danger Room has helped him figure out his limits and so far they have gotten up to a 155 millimeter Howitzer Shell with hardly a scratch. Extreme temperatures have little effect on him. He can survive from near absolute zero to up to 9000 degrees Fahrenheit. His durability is comparable being able to take a hit from a fully loaded semi going 100 mph or a blast from 4500 pounds of TNT. This also allows him to walk away from falls from extreme heights. He spends many hours lost in museums and galleries enjoying all art new and old. He has quite the gift for it as well, much of his time is spent paintings a decent amount of them hang about the mansion. He is now the acting art instructor for the student at the institute. Exercise: A gym rat by nature. Piotr follows a strict routine he practices every day and it shows. He take great pride in his fitness and his massive strength has lead to custom equipment to help present a challenge. Cats: Ever the cat lover he has always had a soft spot for the furry little creatures. He has a small tabby name Dominika he keeps in his room. Cheeseburgers: In his opinion the greatest thing to come from modern american culture. Helping Others: One of the simple joys Piotr takes in this life is doing everything he can to help anyone who asks. He is often sought out by residence of the mansion to help with random tasks because most know he will always say yes. X-Men: Piotr is a strong supporter of the X-mens goals and what the team stands for. He is a firm follower of Xavier's teachings and longs to one day see those goals come to fruition. Neil Diamond: The man was a great songwriter, it's a guilty pleasure. DISLIKES: Extortion: After spending many years indentured to the Russian mafia there is nothing he hates more than people forcing others against there will. Its one of the few things that makes him angry. Organized Crime: In his eyes there is nothing more down right and dirty than mafia life and crime families. He takes great pleasure in Rude Behavior: Piotr is a gentlemen through and through. He is easily taken aback by anyone's rudeness and often goes out of his way to correct students on proper manners. Loud Places: Bars, Clubs, Rallies. These are all things he desperately avoids. Piotr prefers a quiet room with a view and a canvas in front of him. He's never been one for the wild life. Cruelty: Pete was forced to do some pretty terrible things while being used by the Russian mafia. He has little tolerance for those who take pleasure in the pain of others. Fighting: Despite his massive strength and ability he takes little joy in conflicts. He tries to save it for only when necessary and training purposes. STRENGTHS: Skilled Combatant: Years of training have honed Piotr's ability in combat to the point where he is a well oiled soldier. He spends much time in the danger room and training to make sure he is at his peak whenever his skills are needed. Though he is not a fan of conflict he is not afraid to step up and do his part when necessary. Gentle Soul: Despite his imposing figure Pete's a gentle giant. Most feel a level of intimidation when the first meet him it is quickly set aside upon him showing his true nature they find him to be a big teddy bear. He's the strong silent type that looks only to make things better for those around him. Selfless: From a very young age he stopped living for himself and started living for his family, looking to take care of his sister after their parents deaths and while his brother was in space. There is little regard he puts towards his own well being. Almost every action that he takes is to take care of his family (which has grown considerably since his coming to Xavier's) WEAKNESSES: Poor Self-Image: Piotr doesn't think much of himself and never has. Years of being put down and stepped on by the mob and being treated as nothing more as a tool stuck with him. Though he puts on a smile and will act as though nothing bothers him deep inside he views himself as near worthless. It doesn't take much to get him on the line of self-destructive thought and it's hard for him to snap out of it. Gullible: He is easily fooled. Pete likes to assume the best of people and more often than not this is used against him. He'll often enough fall for any little deceit or lie especially if there's a female involved. Magnetic: If you were made out of metal this would be a big problem for you too. Though while in his metal form his strength is able to overcome any sort of magnetic binding his can still be lifted and manipulated slightly. (Plus some students think it's funny to throw fridge magnets at him during Danger Room sessions) GOALS: -Make the world a safe and welcome place between both humans and mutants. He believes very much in Xavier's mutant agenda and would love nothing more than to see it achieved. -Help guild and aid the young minds that pass through Xavier's and try to help them with the difficult transition of mutant life. FEARS: -He will fail to protect those he deems his to guard and care for. Such as his sister or his fellow X-men/students OVERALL PERSONALITY: When it comes to Pete there is definitely more than meets the eye. Most would see the mountain of muscle that he was and assume him to be all brawn and no brains. However beneath that muscular exterior is the artistic mind of a peaceful painter. He finds no pleasure in violence. In fact he down right despises it, the time he likes to resort to violence is when it is completely necessary. He finds much joy in the simple things: beautiful scenery, time spent with his loving comrades and of course painting. His gentle demeanor normally surprises those who do not know him but to those who do know that he is simply a giant teddy bear. He is not an outspoken individual. Piotr will often sit in silence observing those around him while not on the field though never turns away one who wishes to speak. He has a great deal of loyalty and love for those who call Xavier's home. He considers them an extension of his family which he holds on a pedestal all their own. There is an overwhelming call to protect these individuals in his mind, there is little he wouldn't do if someone he considered family were to be put into danger. This is one of the few things that makes this large man mad. Normally he has the patience of a monk but when his family comes into play then he can be quite explosive. When it comes to working Pete loves having a task to do. Residual from his years working on a farm in Russia he was instilled with a great work ethic, he is always happy when his hands are busy and never complains about a task. He normally will go out of his way to find something to do our help someone around the mansion. Most know that he is happy to help with almost anything so he is frequently brought requests from those around him and he will preform with a smile on his face. He's not a fan of loud music or obnoxious parties. If given the choice of going to a club or an art gallery he will take the gallery every time. This constant search for peace is a way to balance the violence and chaos that ruled his life in his years with the mafia. He tries to overcompensate and balance out all the bad he has done try and make himself a better person in his own eyes. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Lake Baikal, Siberia RESIDENCE: Xavier Institute, Staff floor just off the stairs to the Dorms PARENTS: Nikolai Rasputin (father, deceased) Alexandra Rasputina (mother, deceased) SIBLINGS: Mikhail Rasputin (brother) Illyana Rasputina (sister) IMPORTANT PERSON: None yet but one day the big ball of chivalry hopes to find someone OVERALL HISTORY: Nikolai and Alexandra Rasputin were both born on the same collective work farm and eventually married to raise they're children in the same collective. The oldest was Mikhail, then five years later Piotr, and finally the youngest Illyana. The boys grew to work on the collective with their father, helping out as soon as their backs were able. Nikolai raised his boys with a solid work ethic and often spoke with great pride of his strong sons, both of whom stood well taller than him by the time Piotr was thirteen. Mikhail as soon as he was old enough joined up with the Russian space program becoming a famous Cosmonaut. This left Piotr to work the farm with his father. Though he was quite happy to do so he was not a fan of living in the shadow of his brother's fame. One day when he was fourteen Piotr was hard at work in the fields while Illyana played in the flowers near by. A faulty tractor that had been having mechanical problems kicked into drive and took off, heading right for the unaware Illyana. Piotr instinctivly jumped into action rushing to get between the tractor and his beloved sister. The tractor hit him but he held firm, his strength grew and his skin turned to metal. The tractor was demolished and his younger sister was untouched. The discovery of his abilities was a shock, but it was taken as a blessing from the people of the collective farm. His massive strength made quick work of the hard farm labor and they were sure to prosper, that was until word got out of the collective's new hero. The Russian mafia came to Piotr, offering him a place in their organization as an enforcer. His abilities opened up many opportunities to them and they planned to pay him handsomely. When the Russian boy refused to use his abilities to aid the evil men's plans they quickly executed his father in front of Piotr, Illyana and his mother. The man promptly threatened to continue through the rest of the new found mutants family should he decline. There was little choice for Piotr. The next eight years of his life was similar to imprisonment in his eyes. They took him to America, keeping a close eye on his family back home should he disobey. He was taught english and used mainly for intimidation, a show of power and making sure the Russians got their way. They would often send him alone into obvious ambushes to come right back out unscathed with the saboteurs in tow. Being forced to kill a man was the final straw that made him snap. He was living as a tool, only doing as he was told to ensure the safety of his family. America was a new experience for him, something he didn't enjoy at first though what little bit of culture he was able to absorb. He grew a distaste for violence. The cruel ways of his would be captors left him feeling hollow and empty, as though his soul was forfeit. Miraculously the men who controlled him had their enemies. He quickly took up a role in looking over the new students. His protective nature making him a natural to act as an adviser to the students attending classes. He often attended himself to make up for years of lost education. He even found romance in the form of a young girl capable of phasing through walls. Though the flame was hot the young love grew apart with time, life as an X-man could be a hard one to bare. It wasn't long after he became a student adviser the school was raided late at night. Colossus did the first thing that came to him: protected the children. Thankfully the good Professor had thought ahead to the cruelty of man and built escape routes to help get the students to safety. After a few days of lying low they were able to return back to their mansion. It was after this Xavier offered Piotr a position as a instructor. He had taken note of the Russians skill and talent in the arts and believed a role of teacher would fit him well. When the announcement for 'cure' of the mutant state came about it stirred the school. Sides were drawn and students left, Piotr fought for his students to take pride of who they were and that it was who they were. When all was lost he stood alongside his comrades on Alcatraz against the vicious cult of the Brotherhood. When the dust settled Pete helped to restore the school structures and guide young mutant minds towards peace with who they are. Once things at the institute returned to normal Piotr took a bit of a vacation. His mother's failing health drew him back to the farm. He spent near a year in the Siberian collective aiding Illyana in taking care of their mother. It was late into the harvest when the Rasputin's mother passed. Piotr was crushed, though he had rarely seen her since he left for the X-men his love for his mother ran deep. The young Russian could not bring himself to leave his new home at first. His worries were with the people of the commune and his old home. It was filled with memories of his easier life before his fathers death and the end of life as he had known it. The labor was like meditation for him and helped him to come to terms with the demons of his past. For six months he remained in Russia, using his abilities to aid those on the farm. The place held fond memories but no joy. It wasn't long before he missed the familiar faces of the mansion and the promising young students he looked over. After the time spent meditating on the teachings the X-men had instilled in him Piotr returned with a renewed vigor, happy to return the Illyana and the rest that he now considered his family. After the assault on New York brought a scary realization to the Russian. He had seen amazing things in his time with the X-Men but aliens was a hard concept for him to wrap his head around. It seemed every day the giant man grew a little bit smaller. He was not thrilled with the idea of working with SHIELD. Though he respects the Professors judgement in making the alliance he is hesitant of such organizations. He stands ever on guard, not wanting to be taken in as a tool like he once was. For the most part Piotr likes to remain around the mansion. Happy to mingle with his expanded family and aid around the estate where ever able. While still active with the X-men since his return from Russia he has been hesitant to sign up for some of the more confrontational missions.
