El!
El has been with the site for nearly two years now and has continued to prove her value. Currently, she is heading up our site event, Battle for Liberterram, on top of keeping up with her own personal plots.
CHARACTER
SPOTLIGHT
Peggy Carter!
Lux's posts are all wonderful to read. She has done a wonderful job of grasping the new universe and incorporating Peggy into it.
CHARACTER
SPOTLIGHT
Peter Parker!
It's good to see Spidey back on the site. Watching him deal with the universe shift in his own snarky way has been nothing short of entertaining.
THREAD
SPOTLIGHT
Eight O'Clock on the Dot!
El and Lux are making magic in this thread. Straight up fireworks, and the way they've played with drawing out the reveal is top class.
The year is 2014. Two years have passed since the devastating attack on Manhattan that left the Senate completely incapable of denying there truly was life outside of Earth. (The fact they were still trying to deny it after the events in New Mexico was rendered completely moot after the Manhattan incident.)
The media coverage on Manhattan had finally begun to die down when an assassination attempt on Tony Stark brought everything back to the fore. After Stark's brave rescue of the President, the Avenger Initiative was once again brought to light as media outlets debated whether or not Stark's actions were truly beneficial to the communities at large.
Mutant rights activists continue to battle for full scale acceptance, while S.H.I.E.L.D. subversively takes control of all things Alien and Foreign. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. along with the infamous X-Men have formed an uneasy alliance in the event of another extraterrestrial attack. Nick Fury placed the Avengers Initiative in charge of the Mutant Unit - though how well the two forces will combine when push comes to shove remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, trouble is brewing in Asgard. An ancient enemy has awakened and dark forces have been pushing relentlessly against her borders. It is only a matter of time before these forces see fit to take on Midgard, the weakened child of Asgard and when they do, all Asgardians must be ready to assist their small comrades - or all things mortal will truly meet their end.
This is the Mortal Endverse canon timeline. The films listed here are the only Marvel films that bear any impact on Mortal Ends. Events on the site will take place in real time with concepts presented in the MCU added as the staff and members see fit.
Characters and plot-lines in any of the MCU films released after Iron Man 3 are treated on a case by case basis and films released by other studios [e.g. Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Punisher, etc.] are not counted as canon, with the exception of the original X-Men trilogy.
X-Men: Mutant Rights Activism Begins - 2000 X2 & The Hulk: Bruce Banner is exposed to gamma radiation not long after an attack on the President; a tentative peace is struck between man and mutant - 2003 X-Men: Last Stand: A mutant cure is created, only to be destroyed - 2006 Iron Man & The Incredible Hulk: Armored super hero 'Iron Man' comes to light as the Hulk brings down the Abomination - 2008 Iron Man 2: Tony Stark is informed of the "Avengers Initiative" - 2010 Thor: New Mexico Incident - 2011 Avengers: The Manhattan Incident - 2012 Iron Man 3: Presidential Rescue - 2013 Guardians of the Galaxy: Quill and misfits defeat Ronan and upset Thanos' plans slightly - 2014 Ant-Man: Scott Lang is recruited by Hank Pym to assist in keeping Pym Particle technology out of the wrong hands (Note that the bits of this movie involving The Falcon and referencing AoU are not canon) - 2015
Our timeline is NOT compliant with Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, or the Agents of SHIELD TV show by default, however some storylines and characters will be integrated into the plot here. Below is a list of how.
Thor: The Dark World
Our Dark Elves are different! Check here for details. In addition, Loki was sent away from Asgard and agreed to help S.H.I.E.L.D. The plot of Thor: TDW is completely un-compliant with Mortal Ends, however Thor's emotional arc in the film is compliant.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Some of the characters introduced here are in our canon list! Character information revealed in this movie does not have to be utilized by players on the board. The plot of TWS has not happened yet in Mortal Endverse. However, that's not to say it couldn't be integrated later...
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Some of the characters introduced here are in our canon list! Character information revealed in this movie does not have to be utilized by players on the board. Some backstory shown in this movie may be utilized, but the events of the movie itself are not complaint.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Some of the characters introduced here are in our canon list! The general premise of AoS (Coulson's special team) has been integrated into the site, however as the plot ties heavily in with TWS in the back half of Season 1, it has not happened yet in Mortal Endverse. That's not to say it couldn't happen later...
In addition, any knowledge on Inhumans that we have gotten on AoS can be used on-site, as we can presume that these things are still going on behind the scenes here, even if they aren't as well-known yet on Mortal Ends.

{Timeline Date Conversion - Click}Due to periods of activity hiatus, we decided that posts made in 2013 and 2014 canonically take place in the year 2014, with the following date/time conversion:
June/July 2013 = January 2014 August 2013 = February 2014 September 2013 = March 2014 October 2013 = April 2014 November 2013 = May 2014 December 2013 = June 2014 January/February 2014 = July 2014 March/April 2014 = August 2014 May/June 2014 = September 2014 July/August 2014 = October 2014 September/October 2014 = November 2014 November/December 2014 = December 2014
Loki came to S.H.I.E.L.D. for a new start, with a goal of protecting his family and getting out from the Allfather's thumb. S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers had to start facing the facts that they were in a war that they needed his help for and reluctantly brought him on board, though he proved his loyalty.
As everyone got used to working together, Fury and Xavier started to integrate the X-Men into S.H.I.E.L.D. as the Mutant Unit, teaming up agents and mutants to train together in order to promote camaraderie and to send after the smaller attack forces the Chitauri had started to prefer.
S.H.I.E.L.D. itself became somewhat of a battleground upon the discovery of a possible mole within their ranks. Although Fury launched a covert investigation, no mole has been found as of yet, and the information flow has seemed to stop, at least for now...
In addition to fighting the Chitauri S.H.I.E.L.D. put plenty of time and effort into researching how to create a weapon that would work against the creatures more efficiently, given their unique biology.
Meanwhile on Asgard, the Allfather began training his youngest son, Baldr, to take his throne, worried that Thor would perhaps abandon his home for Midgard. Baldr was sent to S.H.I.E.L.D. as a liaison between them and the Asgardians, the only one to travel back and forth commonly. This has created a stronger alliance between them for the battle ahead.
Svartalfheim, home of the Dark Elves, had become overtaken by Thanos before he set his sights on Earth, and a battalion of the elves has taken human form, acting as scouts for their master. The elves, however, do not want to serve Thanos and could perhaps be persuaded against him if they knew their freedom could be guaranteed...
S.H.I.E.L.D. begins to make progress on the weapon for use against the Chitauri and the Mutant Unit is being integrated into their ranks, with new mutants coming on board often, with the help of talent scouting by some of the agents. Chitauri seem to be growing slightly bolder, attacking Los Angeles, but being fought back due to the new team.
Murmurs start among the media about what is really going on with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Chitauri invasion, with conspiracy theories popping up no matter what S.H.I.E.L.D. does to attempt to alleviate them. Small Chitauri scouting groups continue to pop up, though S.H.I.E.L.D. is getting better at dealing with them. They keep pushing for more manpower, knowing that a bigger attack will surely come soon...

Asgardians continue to assist S.H.I.E.L.D., knowing that defending Midgard from their enemy will help all the realms. Baldr attempts to re-connect with Loki, even if Thor is less forgiving, and his dreams of the beginning of Ragnarök have returned, which leave Baldr worried about it approaching quickly.
Meanwhile both the Brotherhood and Sinister are beginning to make moves to assert themselves in the game, with the Brotherhood going back into recruitment mode even though their leader is still being enigmatic.
S.H.I.E.L.D. attempts to recruit the Wolverine, who returns to the X-Men's base upon hearing of Xavier being alive still. Most of the X-Men are now working with S.H.I.E.L.D. as a combined force. Barton somehow catches a lot of this recruitment work and he isn't necessarily happy about it, although he does develop an interest in Rogue and her powers. He decides to take a vacation with Agent Morse in protest of his workload, where they perhaps drink too much.
The Winter Soldier also begins creeping out of his shadows, which throws the Black Widow off her game just in time for a mission to go wrong...
