[PTabbedContent][PTab=GENERAL INFORMATION] CHARACTER INFO: NAME:Barbra Morse ALIAS: Bobbi, Mockingbird, Agent 19, The Huntress AGE: 35 OCCUPATION: SHIELD Agent, Biochemist MEMBER GROUP: SHIELD POWERS AND ABILITIES: No powers to be noted. Abilities include excellent hand-to-hand combat, and ability to use a wide range of weapons. Generally batons are her weapon of choice, followed by a gun. Superbly trained athlete and gymnast, also skilled in multiple martial arts, including Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do, and excellent in espionage. PLAYBY: Claire Danes OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: dani/danisaur AGE: 23 GENDER: la femme TIMEZONE: Mountain Standard OTHER CHARACTERS: Hela Lokisdottir, Kate Bishop [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES:Her uniform: It makes her feel empowered and hey can’t complain when it’s made from Kevlar and Beta cloth which means it’s bulletproof as well as fire resistant. Science: Specifically Biochemistry. She had a PhD in it after all. Bobbi’s always been interesting in human chemistry and how to make them better, and she’s also been fascinated by the opportunities SHIELD has given her to advance her skills in her field, with testing a new, possibly more stable version of the Super Soldier serum. Being a spy: Okay so playing James Bond is definitely one of the better parts of her job. Being an expert in espionage and counter-terrorism, she probably prefers it to being a pain old field agent. She likes finding peoples ticks, almost as much as she likes science. French Fries: Sometimes all she craves is really the salt on them, and sometimes it’s just because she wants something starchy. But generally it’s because french fries are from heaven and she enjoys them. Gravy, ketchup, or some other dip generally to go along with them. Gravy and cheese, as she found out from a mission in Canada make the ultimate combination. Massages: After a really long mission, all she could ever want was a very long deep tissue massage to just relax and unwind from it all. Also just helps her to get back in the groove of her ‘normal’ life in New York. And what girl doesn’t like a good pampering once in a while? Tea: She will drink coffee if she has no other option, or if someone ordered one for her, but generally she will drink tea. It was something she learned to do with her own biochemistry and how certain teas are filled with antioxidants. She learned this long before the whole health fad of them became a thing. And she is definitely more of a tea totaller and is more than willing to try almost anything if it’s considered tea. Days Off: Bobbi enjoys her days off to do the things that she normally wouldn’t get to do, like laundry, and organize her apartment so it actually looked livable. Also to do her shopping, whether it be groceries or otherwise, it was just the chance to feel semi-normal. Not to mention sleeping in. DISLIKES:Being Farsighted: When she’s filling out paperwork, or working in the lab, Bobbi has to either wear her contacts or her glasses to be able to read and work. It’s bothersome and she finds it irritating, but it was either that or get someone else to read things to her and that just didn’t seem like a good option. Being lied to: That is partially because she is an espionage expert and generally can catch people in their lies. If it’s someone she works with, it’s a different story, but if it’s something she needs to know, and they’re lying about it, she’s not against putting them and making them spill. Being called Doctor: It’s not anything against her degree which she is proud of, she just found that it gave her weird chills and she didn’t like the sound of it when people called her Doctor. Bobbi was just fine. Or Mockingbird if she was in the field. Having her picture taken: Bobbi knows she is a fairly decent looking woman, however she hates having her picture taken unless it’s for a mission, or it’s absolutely necessary. Other than that it is just a pet peeve. Incompetence: Over the last few years she had worked with some brilliant undergrads who needed some field experience for their dissertation to graduate, but mixed in those brilliant minds were also some stupid ones. She has no patience for any sort of incompetence and now needs proof from any sort of intern that they aren’t going to waste her time. Nicknames: The only nickname Bobbi likes is Bobbi. No variation on it. One of her nicknames in university was Morse Code. The only person who was ever allowed to call her Morse Code after that though was Nick Fury, because for a while he thought it was fitting as a ‘call sign’. However that doesn’t mean she likes it. It’s very much the opposite. Call her Bobbi, or Mockingbird. That’s it. STRENGTHS:Bilingual: Bobbi is fluent in both English and Spanish, and tries to keep up her Spanish skills as much a possible. Leadership: Bobbi is well versed in a leadership role from being Captain of her gymnastics team as a kid, to being head of the BioChem student research department at Georgia Institute of Technology in her final year of her PhD program. It is something that comes fairly naturally to her and she doesn’t see an issue in being a strong woman. Quick Learner: When she finds something she likes, either as a hobby, or sport, or just in general, she tends to be able to pick it up fairly quick. It is a strength she is quite happy to have Weaponry skills: Between being able to kick some major butt with her hands and feet alone, Bobbi is also quite pleased that, thanks to her SHIELD training, she is capable of handling a wide array of weapons. The weapons she uses the most are her Battle Staves. These are her alloy steel batons which she can screw together to create an eight foot bo-staff. WEAKNESSES:Being Farsighted: It means she has to wear her contacts or glasses, and they can be a pain. Her distance vision is fine, thank god, but she still finds it irritating, and Bobbi considers it a weakness. The only thing her glasses are helpful with is the tech built into them changes the lenses for night vision when necessary. Guilt: There’s not a lot of things in her life that Bobbi feels guilty for, but the few that she does are sincere, deep seated guilt. Prime examples of this are Clint’s loss of hearing for trying to save her life, and the loss of her mother all because the wrong people found out she was alive. These are things that she hold over her own head and find very hard to move past, in fact seeing Clint, it still makes her heart hurt knowing it was partially her fault. If he hadn’t needed to break them out, he would’ve still been fine. Can be overly Blunt: To most people this comes off as rude, but Bobbi finds it better than beating around the bush, though even when she’s trying to be polite it doesn’t always come out the way she thought it would. It isn’t that she wants to be rude, she would just rather say what’s on her mind. PTSD: It took Bobbi a long time to realize she actually did have a streak of post-traumatic stress disorder, and actually avoided it for a long time. It wasn’t until one of her interns found her having destroyed a lot of things in her lab one night that she willingly spoke to a therapist about it, and got on some medications to help even it out. The catalyst for her PTSD stems from a mission she was on for SHIELD, which should have been a simple in and out kind of thing. It wasn’t and she ended up off the radar for a week where her captors emotionally warped her and used her body hoping she would break and reveal SHIELD secrets. GOALS:Do something to leave her name on: Like Einstein with his equation, and Tesla with his coils, Bobbi wants to leave her mark in the Biochem field, maybe even set up a scholarship at one of the universities. Just something to prove that all her hard work wasn’t for nothing. Prevent another ‘Manhattan Incident’: If Bobbi can help it she would much prefer to avoid another type of attack, by Alien fiends or otherwise. She feels very uncomfortable having the Asgardians aboard the Helicarrier, but it isn’t her call to make. If she can help in anyway to avoid some sort of all out war, she will. It was part of the reason Fury called her back in, wasn’t it? FEARS: Being the cause of someone else’s death is Bobbi’s biggest fear. After she knew that she was the reason her mother had died, she swore that she wouldn’t let that happen to anyone else she knew. OVERALL PERSONALITY: Most people look at Bobbi and see a pretty face. Talk to her for five minutes and you know she is way more of a brainiac than a ditz. She will stare you down and tell you straight up how she feels about things, and she will also tell you to go to hell in one sentence. She can play nice and generally not act like a complete geek, but geek is her specialty after all. Don’t piss her off though, she is a SHIELD agent after all and she will definitely kick some serious ass if it needs it. If she considers you a friend she more than likely would be willing to risk her life to save yours. She doesn’t really have a temper, or at least not any more. Between the Tae Kwon Do, and Kung Fu training she had learned how to lock it away and it takes a lot to piss her off. She knows how to be flirty when she wants to be, but generally she bother with it. If someone doesn’t like her for who she is normally, they don’t see to see her in any other state. She does need to be reminded to laugh though, sometimes she takes things too seriously. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: San Diego, California, USA RESIDENCE: New York City, New York, USA PARENTS:Susan Morse, mother. Susan raised both Ben and Bobbi on her own after he took off when both kids were pretty little. Bobbi doesn’t remember a whole lot about what life was like when both her parents were there, but she remembered her mom worked hard, and helped her get through University. She accounts a huge part of her strong character to her mother’s unwavering support. It wasn’t until Clint researched her past that information that Bobbi was alive reached her mom and as a result she was targeted and shot. Bobbi holds herself accountable for her mother’s death. Father unknown, Bobbi doesn’t remember her father, and she never really asked her mom about him. He deserted them and she had no need to talk to him for anything. SIBLINGS: Ben Morse, unknown whereabouts. Ben is Bobbi’s little brother, and she treats him as such. After she went to college, and started on her degree he went off to college and they fell out of touch. The last Ben knew was that Bobbi had died before joining SHIELD by faking her death. This caused a huge divide between her and her brother though she does wish to make it up to him somehow. IMPORTANT RELATIVES:Clint Barton: ex-partner, Hawkeye. She owes her life to Clint, probably more than one time over. He got them out of a sticky situation and was more than glad to still be alive. However she’s afraid that it cost him his hearing, and she feels partly responsible for it. Even in her off time, she’s been trying to find a non-technological way to fix it, as repayment. So far she’s come up empty. Nick Fury: Her excellence in the field as well as in the lab was only propelled by Fury’s belief in Bobbi and her abilities. He was the one who recruited her for her science skills, but found out soon enough that she wasn’t just brains, but she was capable of being a good agent. She will forever look up to him and thank him for all the things he taught her, and still teaches her from time to time. IMPORTANT PERSON: Currently unattached, and mostly uninterested. Bobbi is quite wrapped up in her work between SHIELD missions and her science. OVERALL HISTORY:Growing up in San Diego, you get used to constant sunshine and frequent trips to the San Diego Zoo and Disneyland. You get used to looking like a beach bum and a constant summer tan. Unless you’re Bobbi Morse. She found out at a very young age that science was something she really enjoyed. So much so that she would spend her summers on the beach because her mother said so, but her nose in a book of some sort. Generally science related. She did like things like going to the places they went, but she always made sure that she learned something while they were out. If she wasn’t reading science books though, Bobbi had taken an interest into Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and when she was old enough to read them, James Bond. She found all of those very interesting. Getting into school, she excelled and her mother always told her how proud she was of her, being on honor roll almost every year. Her brother Ben was almost the complete opposite of her though. He was more rough and tumble, and liked to get into trouble. Bobbi thought this was because he thought it would get her attention more or something. She wasn’t really sure. But they got along well enough, and when Ben started school, Susan reminded Bobbi to look out for her brother and make sure nothing happened to him. Well she took this to heart. Even though she was one of the ‘nerds’ in her class, the first time her brother attracted a bully, Bobbi gave the kid, who was older than her, a broken nose. Her brother was mad because he was sure he could take care of himself, but Bobbi was proud because she stuck up for her brother like her mom asked her to. Science was always her best subject. Even in middle school, where she joined the science club and at the end of the year at their science fair, Bobbi won first place in her class. High school was no different. She did well in her other classes, but Science was her full on interest. Her teachers noticed this and Biology was introduced to her. The year after Chemistry was added and Bobbi thought she had died and gone to heaven. In her Junior year, Bobbi went to her counselor and asked him what schools she could go to for BioChemisty. He was surprised that she actually wanted to go to school for such a male dominated field but gladly recommended a few that he knew of. So in her senior year of high school, the application process started and she sent off as many applications to as many Technical Universities, and science based places she could. Even to a few of the international schools, in places like London and Dublin, and as far as Germany. Bobbi hadn’t know how nervous and excited she would be until she started getting the letters back from a few of the schools. Some of them declined her because their program was already full, but that didn’t deter her from her hope. University was the one thing she wanted now. Even if she didn’t make it all the way through to have a Doctorate or anything, she wanted to get through school. Of all the schools she wanted to get into, her research told her that the Georgia Institute of Technology had the most promising program for her specialty. The day her acceptance letter came from GIT was the most excited she have ever felt. And realizing that she got in was even more exciting. That fall, moving halfway across the country, Bobbi felt free, and she felt like she was going to accomplish everything and anything. Of course it took her a couple weeks to fully adjust to the differences in college life, but she could not have been happier. The first week she found a few extra curricular classes and clubs that she thought she’d want to try out. One of them was the Spanish Club. Bobbi’s roommate was Spanish so she started to learn from her, then between that and the club, she caught on to it pretty quick. And living with a Hispanic roommate helped. They talked non-stop in Spanish so Bobbi could keep it up. If they were together it was a constant thing. From there she found a couple other things, being on her own and all, that she thought would be a good starting point as a young woman. There was a weekly Tae Kwon Do class that she thought what the hell, it was worth a shot. Once she got hooked, she sought out more of these types of things to keep up with and she felt it was a good place for her to keep physically as challenged as she was mentally on a daily basis. It was in one of her Kung Fu classes that she was introduced to Staves and their capabilities. Just like science took, Bobbi found ways of physically pushing herself which varied from Tae Kwon Do, to Kung Fu, right up there with yoga, and even found acrobatics. Her mom always told her that she was doing too much and she needed to slow down, but Bobbi didn’t see what the problem was. She was still getting all of her school work done between all the other things she had picked up, more as hobbies than anything. It was in her final year of grad school that she was approached by the man she would soon call her boss. Nick Fury was scoping out the people in her department for the brightest minds for a project for the ‘Military’ which by the way she learned later wasn’t really a military program, but it was run like one. Fury explained to her what they were trying to accomplish within the BioChem labs they had and even though he couldn’t tell her a whole lot, unless she joined them of course, her interest was piqued. But she had a lot of digging around to do until she was done school in the summer. Fury agreed to revisit the issue once she had graduated her doctorate program. It was in those few months that Bobbi sort of took up a ‘private investigation’ title. She went by The Huntress and scoped out the workings of SHIELD that she could legitimately find and everything about them seemed clean and legit. It still made her curious as to why this agency wanted her to be on staff. It was one night that she was doing research that she was attacked, and subsequently she kicked butt before the cops were called and she left quick back to her dorm. She called Nick Fury on the number he had left and told him she’d do it, on one condition. That she not just be a brainy type - that she got their full training and full Agent status. Nick agreed to this and once she moved all her work to New York. they had faked her death. For obvious reasons, it was to keep anyone from ever looking for her and she knew it was going to suck, because she couldn’t go home, or call her mom on Christmas, but it gave her the opportunity to expand on her theories and dissertation that she had handed in to SHIELD. The things she had available to her at her fingertips were almost endless and she was sure she had a lady-science boner the minute she stepped into one of their advanced labs. Once they had determined where she was going to be stationed and who she was going to be working with, Fury tossed her into the Agent training. He hadn’t been sure it was a good idea, but hey if she failed it, she was still a scientist and that was where she would thrive. He was fairly sure that she actually wouldn’t pass the training. How shocked he was when all of her examinations and reports on her training came to his desk. That was when he determined that she was even more useful than he ever thought she would be. He granted her Level 6 access, and she was awarded the code name Mockingbird or Agent 19, which ever she prefered, actually. It was a couple years after joining SHIELD that she actually came into contact with Clint Barton. They were teamed up on a mission where it didn’t end exactly how they wanted to. Well Clint had to break them out, and Bobbi was afraid that because of this it cost him his hearing. SHIELD made him temporary hearing aids which were small enough that if you didn’t know he was mostly deaf, you wouldn’t even have noticed. Bobbi held herself mostly responsible for it, and this was why she started looking into his DNA profile and started trying to find a way to fix it. A few months after that though, she was sent on a mission alone, which did not lead to good things. Her extraction team had been late and she was recaptured by the people she had been running from in the first place. The week she had been stuck there because no one could contact her had been hell. She was used by more than one of her captors and beaten severely until she almost couldn’t talk, in hopes they would get SHIELD intel from her. Bobbi held out until a team finally managed to track her down and get her out. This scarred her for life. She knew there had been risks, and she expected them now, but that was too far. She didn’t tell her handler at the time what happened. But Clint thought it was a good time to try and get a deeper look at Bobbi, and he dug around into her past. The word got out through a rogue agent that Bobbi’s family was still alive and it killed her mom in the end. She bottled everything about this up for a long time, and it was just recently that her PTSD kicked in full force and she had a mental break. One of her interns found her in the lab, having tossed the entire room in anger and emotion. The issue was brought up to Fury and he told her to see a therapist. She did, thankfully, though sometimes her hands still shake when she’s in the middle of something. These days, with the heightened worry of another war, she is a bit more on edge and she tries to hid it as best as she can.
