Eight O'Clock on the Dot!
El and Lux are making magic in this thread. Straight up fireworks, and the way they've played with drawing out the reveal is top class.
Chitauri have begun an assault on the West Coast of the United States, and SHIELD wants to neutralize the threat as soon as possible. Noticing that there are three hubs for the attack, they have split their forces among those cities. To Los Angeles they send members of the Secret Warriors, z inactive timothydugan and @bobbi , as well as the Asgardian Baldr Odinson and a few more agents for crowd control.
Armed with bullets that contain nanites that should be able to shut down both the biological and electronic systems of the Chitauri at once, they are more prepared for that threat than before, but the Chitauri have brought with them beasts that Earth has not seen before.
You are allowed to control as many enemies, allies, and civilians in your posts as you need to.
Event thread should take priority over other threads.
You will have three days to post once its your turn. If you miss, the next person can post. If you miss twice, your character may receive a more serious injury that will disqualify them from further phases.
Leviathan: Large, flying, whale-like creatures built for destruction, the weapon is not effective on them due to their size. Armed with teeth and size.(Approx. 5)
Chitlian: Bulked-up Chitauri soldiers that are more machine than biological. The weapon will take them down for brief periods, but they do reboot the system. Stronger than regular Chitauri and exempt from the hive-mind. Armed with Chitauri guns and spears.(Approx. 250)
Available Allies:
SHIELD Medics: Deployed to assist with the civilians more than anything, they are not particularly useful for fighting.
SHIELD Field Agents: Deployed to help take down the aliens, they are armed with the weapon in their favorite gun, in addition to a close-quarters weapon.
SHIELD Snipers: Deployed to buildings and surrounding areas or in choppers and planes above the battle with long-range weapons, they function as eyes in the sky and long-range gunmen.
Los Angeles Police: Armed only with their issued weapons, the police will mainly handle crowd control.
The emergency signal rang out on the Helicarrier without much warning, with Chitauri flying into cities along the Western Coast suddenly. The Helicarrier changed course to intercept the attackers, deploying agents to the cities and special teams to those hardest-hit.
Los Angeles was already a disaster area by the time it was in view for the planes carrying agents to the site. Buildings smoking and rubble hitting the streets as the Chitauri wreaked havoc on the populace.
The police force is trying its best to keep the aliens at bay and get the civilians to safety, but they are clearly outmatched and the arrival of SHIELD could not come at a better time.
The attack is concentrated on the downtown area where it can do the most damage, but has already begun to progress out towards Burbank and Pasadena. The hope is to contain it before it can get too much further.
With aliens screeching all around, there is already chaos while agents get into position above and boots hit the ground below...

There was no hesitation in him as he volunteered to touch down with those that were called the Secret Warriors, adding his sword to their varied weapons along with his other abilities. A simple summoning of his sword and the battle armor that came with it and he was ready to join his comrades. The flight to the area of attack made him itch for the battle ahead instead of uselessly sitting around, but traveling to the location of the fight was necessary and already moving as quickly as it could.
Baldr was out of the plane they used to get to the scene of the battle as soon as the door was open wide enough and he quickly waded into the chaos on the streets. “I shall assist those civilians,” he announced to those with him, pointing his sword toward a group being accosted by multiple Chitauri before entering the fray himself. He was unfamiliar with modern Midgardian weaponry still and as such was not carrying the supposed Chitauri-killing weapon that the SHIELD agents all had, but he did not believe that it would slow him down all that much. He might not like war, but that did not inhibit his talent for battle when there were such things on the line.
His sword sliced easily through the first of his enemies as he put himself directly between them and the injured civilians. “Back, foul beasts,” he demanded as he parried a blow from one of their spears and spun to plunge his sword through its chest. One of the Chitauri made a grab for him and he forced his glow to the surface, heat building on his skin as the light around him until the beast let go with a squeal. Spinning his sword in his hand to plunge into the creature, he spun then to usher the civilians towards the waiting medics that were attempting to get the injured off the streets to someplace rather more safe. The last two from the group that had been terrorizing the civilians were cut down with ease before Baldr was turning to find the Lady Bobbi and the man called Timothy that he had touched down with.
Seeing them not far from his own position, he knew that he should stick close and he set his sights on more of the Chitauri creatures. These looked different than the ones he had just been fighting and it was clear from the first blow he struck against them that they were more durable as well. One of them stabbed out with its spear, catching Baldr in the side just barely and leaving but a small scratch due to his mother’s tidy spellwork.
Putting more strength into the next cut of his blade, Baldr hacked at the creature’s neck, cutting through half and swinging the blade around to the other side to finish the job. Severing the head seemed to do the trick for the more powerful beast and he took the spear from the ground with interest, using it to sweep another enemy’s legs out as he attempted to figure out how the Chitauri got the weapons’ odd glow to work, as it sent a jolt through him when it had connected previously.[/style][style=width: 401px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; background-color:#fcf76b; text-align:right; color: #333333;]z inactive timothydugan .

Hadn’t they done this already? Dum Dum was fairly certain that they had gone through this attack before. Apparently they had done something to piss off these aliens because despite their defeat in New York a few years back they were here once again for another licking. One he hoped they would be able to provide. After Tony had released that nuclear bomb into the portal that had hung over New York Dum Dum had figured that would be the last time they had seen of the Chitauri.
Apparently not.
Dum Dum had thought they had been rather on the ball between when they were notified of the alien invasion to when they rallied up the troops and became mobile, to when they arrived on site. While he might have thought they had made good time in getting to Los Angeles the Chitauri had wasted no time in getting down to business - whatever that was.
The plane touched down and Dum Dum was jumping out on to the street feeling quite a bit like Rambo. Knowing he was most likely going to be going through quite a bit of munitions he had all but drapped it on his person. Every spare clip he had for his guns were brimming with bullets and strapped about his person. Hopefully he hadn’t bogged himself down too much and compromised his mobility.
His feet had not so much as touched the ground before he began to fire at the Chitauri. In short staccato bursts he aimed for their heads, whooping each time managed to fell one of the creatures. ”Do you mind?” He asked the Chitauri who had purposely sent a bit of debris flying his way. ”I’m walking here!” Dum Dum was happy he had seen the bit of cement and had been able to dodge it in time. Otherwise he’d be lucky just to be seeing stars.
Thoroughly brassed off at the rudeness of the alien Dum Dum shot out the motor on the little hover craft he had been zooming about on. ”Not so tough now are you?” Dum Dum called, grinning broadly. The alien’s response was to pick up more debris and send it flying at the former strong man. Ducking quickly he barely avoided eating concrete but his hat wasn’t as lucky; his bowling hat was knocked clean off and sent flying off to the side. Dum Dum narrowed his eyes at his adversary. ”If I so much as find a scratch on that hat…” He warned.
”Quit playing with your food and get back to work,” One of the agents berated him over the comms. ”Yeah, yeah, yeah,” A few quick pulls of the trigger later and the Chitauri he had been playing with was lying where he stood. Stomping over to where his hat had fell, Dum Dum brushed off the dust it had gathered and placed it back on his head. He was good to go.
Not bothering to holster his weapon (he was going to be using it a lot) he ran over to where Baldr was working to drive of some Chitauri from a handful of injured civilians. ”Impressive,” He said catching the Asgardian decapitating one of the creature before emptying his clip into another who was approaching their little group.

obbi knew that her and Tony’s weapon would work. Or rather she was about 99% certain that it would. Tony was a genius after all, and she wasn’t too far behind. She just hoped she had enough rounds to take out a large number of the Chitauri. When the alarms rang Bobbi hopped up and booked it to the hangar deck, already geared up and packing extra weapons. From her Staff to a couple guns with the poison rounds, plus several extra clips filled with the rounds, she hoped it was enough to start.
If nothing else it would give them a chance to see the live rounds in action.
In a way she was glad Baldr was joining them. The Secret Warriors was a pretty strong team already, but she wouldn’t say no to the extra hands. She nodded when Baldr said he was going in one direction and the team split off in others. Dum Dum, in very Dum Dum fashion, seemed to be enjoying this a little much. She took off around the back of the plan to take out some of the Chitauri around there.
The first couple rounds she fired made contact and she watched the body writhe and crumble to the ground. Okay so it did work. And well. She hoped they couldn’t form a resistance before this whole debacle was over. She ducked behind a flipped car, and waited to hear one being closer to her position.
She stood and fired off two shots, hitting it center mass with both shots, and it staggered for a moment before falling like it’s previous comrade. “How’s it going on your side of the street?” she asked into the comms, snickering at hearing someone give Dum Dum shit for horsing around. Now was not really the time for that kind of thing. She spun around as she heard the heavy stomping of another foot soldier and she aimed higher than center mass, knowing headshots were better. She thought she dropped that one and went to move on before it seemed to jolt back to life. “Oh shit. Guys! We’ve got immune ones!” She holstered her gun and pulled out her staff, spinning it around in her hands. It wasn’t a pretty sight because now it was just pissed off.
It came at her full speed, and Bobbi ducked, rolling between it’s legs before getting back to her feet and jumping to try and land on it’s back so she could zap it with her staff, which she then took apart into the batons and hit it on both sides of it’s neck, hoping it would overload the mechanical systems and shut it down.
It crumpled to the ground a few moments later, but Bobbi wasn’t sure it was for sure dead. “Baldr! What are the ones that look like Chitauri but stronger??” She asked, hesitating to see if it twitched by her feet. She took a regular clip of bullets and emptied it into the head of the alien. In a way, she was glad she wasn’t around for this crap last time.

He was not self-obsessed the way that some Asgardian soldiers could be - Fandral came to mind - but it was still nice to hear appreciation of his skill. "'Tis not too difficult," he called back to the man as he swung the spear out, finally discovering how to make it blast out energy the way the Chitauri were able to use it. The blast hit the last of the creatures threatening the people that he'd set his sights on protecting. With that, he turned to usher the civilians towards the SHIELD agents that were attempting to move them to safety.
The Lady Bobbi's shout that the bigger ones were immune to the special weapon they had created was not good news, and Baldr turned to look in her direction in the hopes that he would see she was handling herself. "They got them at the other locations, too," one of the agents that was on a frequency with others informed him, "Bigger, stronger, harder to kill. Chitlian, Loki said." Baldr nodded and turned back to battle. He would take care of them, he was sure.
He went to the Lady Bobbi's side, cutting down one of the Chitauri that got in his way. "My brother says they are Chitlians," he replied, "They appear to be stronger and are giving other teams troubles as well." There was a wave of them and the regular Chitauri coming their direction, and he stepped in front of the Lady Bobbi and Agent Dugan. Now that there were no civilians in the area, Baldr had an idea to cut down on their ground forces. "Stay behind me for a moment!" he called to everyone, throwing his sword into the ground so that it stuck, hilt up, and closing his eyes.
Calling upon his center of light, Balder allowed it to swell up inside him and build up until his body could not contain the light and the heat. Ramping it up even further, he opened his eyes as he thrust the energy forward, it exploding out of him and engulfing all the Chitauri and Chitlian in visible range of them, bright enough to blind and hot enough to melt.
The light and heat died down after long moments of searing, leaving behind twisted, melted bodies of the aliens that had been creating trouble on this block, seventy or more now twisted into unrecognizable corpses of metal insides with their flesh burned away. Nodding in satisfaction, he lifted his sword back up and turned to his companions. "We should move to another street and assist further," he told them, "I shall need to recharge a bit." It took much of his energy to let out a blast like that, but he did not regret the action, as it would be a great assistance to their overall battle.
"Friend Agent!" he called to the Agent he knew was in contact with the Helicarrier directly, "I would like my brother to come this way. I believe he would be of assistance." Loki would be of much assistance to getting Baldr's energy back up so that he could perhaps use his Light again sooner. Turning to Agent Dugan and the Lady Bobbi, he motioned that they should come with him. "Come! We must go to the next street over to assist more civilians!" he rallied.[/style][style=width: 401px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; background-color:#fcf76b; text-align:right; color: #333333;]z inactive timothydugan. Bobbi and Tony had whipped up some miracle weapon that was supposed to cut through the Chitauri like they were butter. Or at least that’s what he thought it was supposed to do. Someone had tried to explain it to him but he had tuned out shortly after. Technobabble tended to put him to sleep. Don’t get him wrong, he loved how far technology had come from his day - the internet was a marvelous thing - but being able to use the internet and understanding how it worked were two very different things. He simply didn’t care for the how, he just wanted to see the results. Particularly if there was an explosion involved.
As far as he could tell the contraption had been working. There wasn’t any whooping or hollering coming from Bobbi’s end but there wasn’t an exoberant amount of cussing either. That had to mean it was working right?
Or not.
”Immune?” He asked incredulously. It’s not like they had been able to test out the technology on a live subject before they took the weapon to the field but of all the issues but he would not have predicted immunity of the Chitauri had not been one of them. Maybe equipment malfunction but not that that the aliens took a licking and kept on kicking. That was just unfair.
Dum Dum nearly choked when he heard what these new aliens were called. ”Chitlins?” He drawled in amusement. ”You mean the deep fried intestines that the south seems to be so fond of?” That was an unfortunate name for sure. Still chuckling to himself he did what Baldr said and got behind the Asgardian as instructed.
Moments later a bright light emanated from the larger man. Dum Dum squinted at the brightness but the light quickly became unbearable to look into. Turning his back to the large Asgardian Dum Dum blinked a few times in the hopes of clearing out the spots now dancing around his eyes. When the light died down and he turned around Dum Dum was surprised to see all the aliens in the vicinity had been killed. Well nearly all of them.
”Neat little trick you got there,” He said slapping Balder on the back. ”I couldn’t tell you how much something like that would have come in handy over the years.” Grinning widely at the thought of how differently some events could have gone with a nuclear weapon like that Dum Dum hefted his weapon up higher and rounded the corner. This street was secure, time to secure the next.
Predictably there were plenty of the nasty buggers just waiting for their arrival. Well he was more than happy to oblige them. ’WAHOOOOOOO,” He whooped gleefully sending a spray of bullets into a nearby alien. Dum Dum pulled the trigger and nothing but a click came out. Out of amo, great. Not even pausing in his leisurely stroll down the street he pressed the button that would release the clip, letting it fall to the ground, and quickly replaced it with a fresh one.
The clip had no sooner snapped into place when a flash of movement caught his attention. A little girl no more than six or came dashing out from a side door in a blind panic. Uh oh. Shoving his gun precariously down the front of his belt where he could get to it quickly he rushed forward and scooped up the child. However he hadn’t been the only one to get distracted by the entrance of a new player. A couple of Chitauri began to run in his direction probably figuring he would be an easier target with his hands full.
Adjusting the child so she sat comfortably on one hip, Dum Dum got his gun out once more, cooing to the child in a comforting manner as he took shots at the oncoming aliens. ”Close your eyes sweetheart. You don’t want to see this,” He told her. ”Don’t you’re I’ve got you. A little help here guys?” The last bit was directed towards the other members of his party.

he snagged one of the spears that one of the ones she killed dropped, using it as a staff until she could figure out how to fire it. If nothing else, it would make a good stick to hit things with. She didn’t like the fact that these bigger ones, Chitlians, as Baldr explained, were mostly immune to the poison and the shocks from the nanites. She grumbled under her breath for a moment. “Well pass the message along to Stark and see if he has any brilliant ‘in the moment’ ideas, ‘cause I’m drawing a blank, except for decapitating them. Which would be her pleasure, mind you. It would just take longer.
“ChitliANs Dum-Dum. Different things, you can’t eat these. There’s too much metal in their bodies.” Bobbi added when they appeared at her side to help. Not that she hadn\t been handling it well enough. “How do you fire their staff things?” she asked Baldr, as she’d heard him figure one out over the comms. It would be better to use their own tech against them and save the other weapon for the ones she knew they worked on.
When Baldr instructed them to get behind him, Bobbi covered her eyes when he seemed to glow. She hadn’t expected that. “Jeez, Baldr, coulda warned us what you were doing, I would have worn sunglasses.” It was cool, and she’s have to ask him more about it later, but it was nice that they had a couple of the powered gang with them. it made these kinds of things a bit easier.
Baldr having used a lot of that Light energy worried Bobbi that he would be down for a while, and she made a mental note to try and be in front of him for a while. She mentally wouldn’t acknowledge that was what she was doing if he asked, but now it was her turn to cover him. “Clearly. That looked like a lot of power,” she noted.
Rounding the corner of a new street brought on new enemies, Bobi looked up and saw one of the ...well flying boat looking ones and cussed to herself. She remembered hearing those didn’t go down easy. She fired off a couple of the staff shots into the larger ones to get their attention before running off towards an alleyway where she could pin them down and take them out. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Dum-Dum scoop something small up, and she noticed the child before she fired three staff shots into the chest of each of the Chitlians that followed her. Three blew a nice hole through their chest, which seemed to drop them.
Bobbi dug out her gun, and took the long shot from where she was to hit the Chitauri with the special rounds which they writhed and dropped a few moments later. “Move, Dum-Dum! Go get her on the jet!” Someone would need to look the kid over later, and if she was on the quinjet, at least she’d be safe there. “And tell the pilot to keep an eye out for the ...I dunno, whatever the big flying things are.”

He was not fond of using something meant to be so positive in anger and aggression, but it was necessary in these moments. He would say words for the fallen later, but for now protecting humanity's civilians was the most important thing.
Bowing his head in a brief show of penance for his actions, Baldr paused to show the Lady Bobbi how to operate the Chitauri spears so that she could use them more efficiently. "'Tis not a trick," he responded to the Agent Dugan, "'Tis a power that must be used sparingly." He did not take pleasure in wanton destruction the way that many seemed to, and it hurt him to see creatures even such as the Chitauri obliterated in such a painful way.
"Agent Morse," the Agent called out before they could find a new field of battle, "Stark says he's not sure about the weapon being useful for the larger ones - they're almost 90% - Stark, I'm not - they're 88.967% machine and the poison won't work. Large electric shocks are your best bet." Baldr nodded his thanks for the information the Agent had relayed and reminded him to please get Loki out to their position if possible.
With a smile at the Lady Bobbi, Baldr followed the Agent Dugan to the next street, quickly jumping into the fray that was currently raging in the area. Fighting the sliens in groups rather than individually, Baldr was not yet feeling fatigue even with the large energy expenditure of his Light attack. "The large flying ones are Leviathans!" he informed the Lady Bobbi as she asked of them, having remembered them being mentioned before.
"We must move forward while he removes the child! There is a group of civilians pinned down ahead!" he encouraged, pointing his sword in the direction of the civilians. He would not allow more humans to die on his watch if he could help it. They were not perfect, but they did not deserve to be attacked so viciously when so much of their popuation were not warriors.
Upon reaching the Chitauri that were surrounding the group of civilians, Balder put his focus on the larger ones that were resistant to the Lady Bobbi's special weapon. They took more effort to destroy, but with the aid of advice on electricity being effective, Baldr combined his sword with blasts from the Chitauri weapon to greater effect than one weapon alone.[/style][style=width: 401px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; background-color:#fcf76b; text-align:right; color: #333333;]z inactive timothydugan TEMPLATE BY OH SO COOPERNATURAL ! @ CAUTION.[/style]

Both Bobbi and Baldar were quick to correct Dum Dum, not that he could tell the difference. It sounded just like how he had previously said it. Bobbi then went on to point out that there was to much meat on the Aliens to eat. He simply gave her a look. ”I think too much meat is something you want on an animal you eat. It’s much better than picking bones out of your teeth,” He said dryly. Not that he was planning on eating any of these creatures. He had no idea where they had been. Never mind the fact that despite how long he had handled a gun he had never really been much of a hunter. He liked his food ready to be stuffed in his face not having to be gutted first.
Scooping the child up in his arms Dum Dum cradled her close, taking care to not squish the frightened child. Nodding to Bobbi to show he understood he took off at a run heading towards the jet. ”Just hold onto me tight okay?” He murmured to the little girl. ”I’m going to get you to safety.” Flinging her arms around his neck the little girl buried her head into his shoulder.
Thankfully the jet wasn’t terribly far away and the majority of the Aliens had already been cleared out. Having been unable to take on particularly nasty beast down Dum Dum picked up speed as he ran towards the ship. The agents aboard, having been made aware of Dum Dum’s approach and that of the alien giving chase were quick to respond once they got into range. A few shots later and they had quickly taken the creature down.
Panting his thanks to one of the Agents, Dum Dum handed off the terrified child. The little girl was reluctant to part with him and clung to him tighter. Only after he promised her that she would be safe and that he would check on her later did the little girl allow one of the Agents to pull her off Dum Dum. There was no doubt in his mind that she was in the right place. The agents would look her over for injuries and keep her safe until the fighting was done. Today’s events would probably haunt her for years and that he did regret.
Remembering Bobbi’s words he informed the pilot of the flying creatures they had spotted. Before running back out into the fray he took a moment to replace the clips he had already gone through. Better safe than sorry. Once again fully stocked and ready to rock and roll, he ran out onto the streets looking for a bit of danger.

he rolled her eyes. “I said WASN’T enough meat on them!” Sometimes she swore that Dum-Dum had selective hearing. Understandable, she supposed but that wasn’t the point. When Baldr gave her the percentage of machine that the Chitlians were, Bobbi nodded. “Great. Just great.” She replied, sounding very unimpressed with this newfound information. Following Baldr’s lead, she made sure that Dum-Dum had enough cover to make it over to the jet, before jumping in on clearing out Chitauri. Clearly Baldr had taken the note of the weapon not working on them, to leave her with the ones her rounds would kill.
Fine by her. Bobbi took two down from behind as they were focused in on scare tactics of keeping the group of civilians cornered. They twitched for a moment before hitting the ground hard, which lead two more to turn into Bobbi’s direction. She darted between them before leaping up onto the back of one and firing three shots right into its neck and she had to switch guns. She rolled when they hit the ground, changing guns, and hands before aiming for a headshot on the other Chitauri that looked stunned briefly, but he dodged before Bobbi could fire a clear shot.
She quickly got to her feet, following him down the street. Firing off a shot it hit the armor and it only slowed it down briefly before she fired another shot hitting its head which then dropped it to the ground as well. Just as she turned to head back and help Baldr half a dozen more dropped out of the sky from the ...Leviathan? That’s what Baldr said they were called, she hoped. Either way, there was suddenly a bunch more and she didn’t look too happy about it.
“Six more, incoming.” She called on the comms, racing back towards Baldr hoping the Chitauri would follow. They used their staffs to fire in Bobbi’s direction, and the shots all hit the ground and she ducked behind a car to reload her weapons.

Deciding to shrug off his confusion and focus on what mattered, he made sure that the Agent took the young child in his arms past him and the Lady Bobbi safely so that the child would be safe. With them on their way, he headed to the aliens.
He found that it wasn't that difficult to take out the creatures individually once he was 'in the groove' as Agent Barton would say. With the sheer amount of them, however, Baldr knew that his pace could not be kept up long. There were simply too many of the creatures and not enough Agents on the ground. With all their preparation over the past years, they still were not prepared for this attack, something far more worrisome than Baldr wanted to dwell on.
Just as he cut down the last Chitlian in the group he'd taken on, he heard the Lady Bobbi calling that six more had arrived. Spinning to see the creatures, he put himself between them and the humans that he'd just gotten to. "Lady Bobbi!" he called, "I must assist these people! Please fend off the Chitauri!" Sheathing his sword, he bent to lift a fallen piece of building from one of the human's legs, directing the others to carefully pull him out of the way before setting it down again. Using a nearby piece of rebar and a jacket to keep the leg straight, he handed off the Chitauri spear to one of the civilians, instructing her in how to use it before lifting the young man with the crushed leg into his arms.
"With me, Midgardians!" he rallied before beginning to lead them to safety as the Lady Bobbi kept the aliens distracte while the Agent Dugan came back into the fight. It did not take much time for him to escort the group to Medical Assistance and he left the spear with the Medics in case they could make use of it before drawing his sword again to head back into the battle.
Rushing for the new reinforcements that had joined the six from earlier, he let out a loud battlecry as he began fighting again. There were so many Chitauri and Chitlian making their way into the battle that Baldr was beginning to be disheartened when he felt a blast of familiar power wash over the field, briefly freezing a group of the aliens in place to better enable them to be cut down with weapons. "Loki," Baldr grinned in relief as he turned to where his brother appeared in the field.
"I do so hope that you will not make me do all the work, dear brother," Loki replied smoothly, voice seemingly unaffected. ”How do you suppose they would taste?” Dum Dum asked Bobbi completely missing her eyeroll. ”I’m guessing like rabbit but greasier. You know, like it’s just started to turn and is well on it’s way to being rancid. Or would it taste like chicken, seeing as how everything that is considered to be exotic automatically taste like chicken.” It was tangents like this that tended to make people exasperated with him. He understood that but that didn’t mean he was able to curb his tendency to chase the rabbit down the hole any more.
Dum Dum was still pondering the matter after he had dropped the child off at the jet and had returned back to his group. Would it be considered cannibalism seeing as how the Chitlian weren’t even human? Then again, who knew what sort of toxins they had in their bodies. For all he knew one bite and you’d be dead on the spot. Now that would certainly be unfortunate. Not that he was planning on eating any of them, he’d stick with cow thank you very much.
”Did I miss anything?” He asked just in time to hear Baldar request backup from Bobbi. He supposed he could do the gentlemanly thing and go and assist her. ”Sounds like I got here just in time. Okay boys, let's dance.” The last part he directed towards the Chitlian. One of the creatures took a step towards him and Dum Dum waggled his gun at it tsking. ”Uh, uh, uh, I lead, you follow.” And with having said his piece he proceeded to empty his clip between the creature’s eyes. Two clips later and it was down. ”Well that was quick,” He said sarcastically.
What he needed to do was get a rocket launcher. The thought popped in his head when he saw that the Chitlian’s had sent in more reinforcements. That would surely take them out. Or at least seriously injured them. Note to self, next time they faced an army of aliens he was going to insist on a rocket launcher.
A hush fell over the battle as their opponents stilled. Frowning Dum Dum continued to shoot a the aliens who were suddenly stationary. ”What the…” He asked. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a familiar smarmy face. ’Oh great, the trickster has come out to play. Have you come to help us or have you come to watch us get brutally slaughtered?” Dum Dum didn’t trust the Asgardian as far as he could throw him. Loki looked out for no one but himself and if he was here that meant he was probably getting something out of the ordeal.

he let Dum-Dum go on his tangent about the Chitauri but she made a disgusted face when he brought up the idea of eating them. There would be no way in hell that would eat anything like them. They were gross enough creatures without them needing to think about what they would cook up like. Bobbi, in fact, nearly gagged just at the thought of it.”How could you even be thinking about food right now?” Of course, she should know better by now. Bobbi rolled her eyes, before using the staff she’d stolen to take out one of the Chitlians, before switching back to her guns and firing off a couple shots at one of the Chitauri.
“I’m attempting to do that, Baldr.” She mumbled before coming around the car and emptying both clips between the four remaining attackers. She glanced over her shoulder briefly to see what Baldr was actually doing before pulling her attention back and looking up. There were about four of the flying ones left, from what she could tell. And if she remembered correctly from reading about them, they were a bitch to take down. “We need to take out the Leviathans so the rest of these jerks stop intruding.”
While she’d been looking up briefly, she heard Dum Dum having a bit too much fun with them. “Timothy, for once in your life, please do not play with the things! Just kill them!” She chided him, slipping in new clips and looking behind her where she’d just dropped the previous six. Well now there were a hell of a lot more than she left and Bobbi glared.
She was about to hop on the comm line and ask for one of the pilots to give them a path to the next street when everything seemed to slow right down, in a weird way. When the familiar voice hit her ears, Bobbi turned, glaring. “He better be here to help, or he knows damn well that I’ll kick his sorry ass.”
Loki seemed to appreciate this ‘warm’ welcome from the agents and he gave the Agent Dugan first a wicked smile, “While the first option does seem rather appealing, Lady Bobbi also has direct orders from on high that allow her to deal with me as seen fit. As she so eloquently stated previously. It is nice to see you as well, Barbara. Now, shall we continue with the bickering as children, or shall we slaughter Thanos’ minions?”
Bobbi grumbled about him using her given name, but knew better than to shoot him right now. they needed all the help they could get and she would gladly take any sort of magical help. “Fine, get your ass in gear trickster before I change my mind. Let’s move!”

He was glad that she would not have to fend the creatures off on her own in his absence and it made it easier for him to leave her in the field while he helped those that should not be caught in it. Baldr did not like leaving allies on their own, but the Lady Bobbi could defend herself, especially with the Agent Dugan by her side.
Once he returned to fight, they had taken care of quite a few of the creatures and Baldr dedicated himself to the battle with a renewed vigor. "Aye, milady, I agree," he returned as she mentioned their need to take out the Leviathans in the air as soon as they could. He simply hoped they could hold them off until his brother arrived, as Loki would be of great assistance in that endeavor. It didn't take long after that thought for his brother's magic to make itself known and the frozen Chitauri were a boon upon them and once Baldr had taken the ones near him down, he turned his attention to his brother.
The grin on his face was wide and bright, and the glow around him reflected that expression easily. He shot the Agent Dugan a disappointed look at the man's words. Loki had clearly come to assist them, and while Baldr understood some suspicion, it was quite rude to say such things to his brother's face. "Thank you for coming, brother," Baldr smiled as Loki finished addressing both the Agent Dugan and the Lady Bobbi, "Perhaps you can assist me with one of these Leviathan creatures?"
"It shall be as old times," Loki smirked in reply, "As when we took out that displeasing swamp creature?"
Baldr thought over that incident for a moment before nodding and Loki did not take long to conjure himself a wickedly bladed spear and enchant Baldr's sword with a short-lasting fire curse that would add scalding temperatures to the blade to allow it to easily slice through the plating on the flying creatures above them. He nodded to Loki and his brother's magic enveloped them both, transporting them right onto the creature that was nearest to their previous position.
It had been a while since Baldr and Loki had fought side-by-side, but it was still easy as breathing, with them working together almost as if they were one as they hacked away at the creature's plating until Loki could dig his spear straight into what served as its brain and twisting it viciously. The Leviathan let out a roar as it began falling from its path into the street. "Brother! Crash the carcass into those Chitauri!" Baldr shouted, pointing the the gathering of them that were heading toward their SHIED allies.
Loki did what he could to steer the falling creature while Baldr held on and soon they were crashing - hard - into the pavement filled with now-crushed aliens.[/style][style=width: 401px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; background-color:#fcf76b; text-align:right; color: #333333;]z inactive timothydugan. @bobbi. All this talk about food was making him a bit peckish. Once things were said and done he was going to have to find something to eat. Chicken was sounding good right about now. Maybe some pie. Maybe lots of pie. Or maybe some lasagna. That sounded good to. Lasagna with some bourbon. ”There’s always time to think about food.” He said with a small shrug. ”If you can’t think about food what can you think about?” What about a steak?
Bobbi was having none of his games today. He’d rushed back to help her and now she was complaining about how he decided to take out these beasts? There just was no pleasing her. You would think that as long as he got the job done that Bobbi wouldn’t care what he said. Guess now. Dum Dum sighed audibly and slid in a fresh clip. ”Yes Mom,” He said dryly though he couldn’t guarantee how long he would be able to hold off on his remarks. His bet was it wouldn’t take very long, he had a habit of putting his foot in his mouth. Though that was a rather mild word for it.
With the appearance of the trickster Loki Dum Dum just knew that there was no way he would be able to hold his tongue. Not with that Norseman around. The greasy hair bastard just had to look at him and Dum Dum had an overwhelming urge to punch his weasel face in. He’d say it was a problem but he really didn’t see how that was a bad thing.
Loki grinned in his direction and it was all Dum Dum could do to not roll his eyes. ”Can we get on with this please?” He grumbled cocking his gun. ’Some of us have things to do later today.” That was not exactly true. Ever since the west coast was hit Dum Dum had put his social life, what little of it existed outside of SHIELD, on hold for the time being.
Baldar at least was happy to see his fellow brethren. Not that Dum Dum understood it. The two of them quickly ran off to take down one of the Leviathan leaving him and Bobbi to manage on their own. ”Feel like raising a little hell?” He asked Bobbi before running off once more into the fray A group of chitauri down the street spotted them and quickly started running in their direction. Pulling a hand grenade from a pouch in his belt, Dum Dum pulled the pin with his teeth before lobbing it in their direction. The moment the pineapple had left his hand he had raised his gun once more and was trying to pick off any who had separated from the groups.
