[PTabbedContent][PTab=GENERAL INFORMATION] CHARACTER INFO: NAME: Alice Ismene Moore ALIAS: Alice Stark, Qwerty, Ally, Al AGE: 20 OCCUPATION: Cracker/Hacker for hire, Tech Repair consultant. Occasional IT tech. MEMBER GROUP: Civilian POWERS AND ABILITIES: Hacker/Cracker: Alice is a very good hacker, possibly among one of the best. She has managed to get into many of the "well-protected" corporations and businesses, and she has implanted several different viruses into things before. She hasn’t done anything to get too much attention as of yet, but if there’s a leak in an R&D department, you can bet she’ll grab what she can from it. Encryption/Decryption: Alice can understand binary, and as such, can decode and encode any device she sees fit. She hasn’t yet had any experience with alien tech, but she’d certainly love to get her hands on it. Programming: She can reprogram most anything technological, and write her own programs, as several of those viruses were of her own design. She is astoundingly good at it for being mostly self-taught. Building/Repairing Electronics: Alice has a knack for being able to virtually repair any electronic device that she comes across. Complex machinery and technology are out of her league at the moment, though. Mechanics: Alice can work with mechanics, but she is nowhere near as adept in it as she is with electronics; She usually knows what's wrong with her poor excuse for a car, but she can't fix it most of the time. She has moderate Mechanic knowledge. Parkour: Alice is not exactly doing freerunning for the joy of it, but rather has gotten used to using unconventional ways of getting away from attackers or pursuers. Occasionally when she hasn’t had to scale things to get away from thugs, she does it for fun. Video Games: Not exactly a skill to brag about, but Alice is exceptionally good with almost any kind of game. This has helped her have very good reflexes and hand eye coordination in the long run. Finally, Alice is extremely strong-willed, enough so that those who do possess mind control abilities may find it difficult to keep a hold on her, doubly so if they’re controlling more than five people. She will constantly be fighting for control of herself, which may be too much effort for the psychic to want to do. PLAYBY: Brittany Robertson OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: Norse AGE: 24 GENDER: Lady TIMEZONE: GMT-5/EST OTHER CHARACTERS: Sigyn and Jay. [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES: Video Games: Alice loves video games; PC, Console, Handheld, etc. She is usually fairly good at adapting to different styles of game play, considering it’s one of her major hobbies. She has a love for retro pinball machines as well. Heavy Metal, Techno, Industrial Music: Alice is a metal head, and if someone is unfortunate enough to hear the music coming from her headphones or car speakers, odds are it will be something along those lines. She tends to favor death metal. Science: Alice likes science, particularly the physical and natural sciences. While she may not have the genius level intellect, she can still make quite a few effective things with little resources at her disposal. Chemistry is surprisingly one of her best scientific subjects. Science Fiction: Even with the confirmation of Aliens, Mutants and pretty much everything else, Alice still enjoys the ideas and themes behind many a sci-fi novel. Asimov, Orwell, Wolfgang Hohlbein, and Ray Bradbury are among some of her favorites. She leans more toward the hard Sci-fi side, but anything with a space vibe tends to catch her attention. She also likes surreal fiction like Kafka and Burroughs. Technology: Alice is the direct opposite of those who love nature. Technology is her bread and butter, and nature is for the birds. She doesn’t like it at all. Okay, well maybe a little. But not over technology. She’ll take that over “off the grid” living any day. DISLIKES: Self-Righteousness: Alice really detests people who behave like this. Like they’re so much more moral than the next person, because they belong to a religion or whatever. Screw that. You’re not better than anyone else just because your morals say so. Mushrooms: Disgusting. Why would anyone want to eat fungus? So gross. Police: Living on the wrong side of the tracks has made Alice detest any kind of law enforcement individuals, but on the beat cops in particular. You shouldn’t have to palm a cop a twenty to get him to do what is legally necessary to actually do. She uses and abuses the system of bribes though; she can’t fix the system, so she might as well exploit it. Addicts: Personal history has made Alice surprisingly as straight edge as can be. She understands that addiction is a problem that can and often needs to be overcome, but when someone is in full-blown addict stage? She cannot stand to be around them. Authority: Alice is fairly anti-authority. She doesn’t like people telling her what to do without any explanation or good reason, which is usually how it goes ninety percent of the time. Alice will do what she wants to do, be damned what someone in charge says. STRENGTHS: Courageous: This is not an entirely obvious strength considering Alice’s general nature, but it is there. Alice is the type of person who will stand up for her beliefs against anything and anyone if she has to do so. This will include her own allies as well. Persevering: Alice is the type of person to dust herself off and try again if she fails. Failure is just a roadblock, and its not like you can always be successful the first time it happens. So she’ll keep trying, not matter what stands in her way. Clever: While Alice is intelligent, she doesn’t outshine the genius minds out there. What she has instead is an ability to think on her feet and adapt to any given situation. She’s also the type of person to possess a good amount of common sense, unlike some of the high IQ people. WEAKNESSES: Cynical: Alice has a hard time trusting people in general, and trusting people to do the right thing? Are you out of your mind? She doesn’t take anyone at face value when first meeting them, and often thinks that people want something from you, and doesn’t trust charity. No one gives anything away for free. Anti-Authority: Alice doesn’t follow orders very well, for the most part, and attempting to boss her around will show you just how difficult it is to get her to do something she doesn’t want to do. She’s not completely contrary and defiant; it just takes a lot of work to earn her respect. Once you’ve got that, she’ll probably do most things if you ask. But commands, attempting to get her to do something unnecessary, etc. will guarantee that she won’t do anything of the sort, nor will she listen to you in the future. Tactless: While Alice can be tactful, she rarely is. Alice is very brutal and cutting with her remarks, often saying the thing that everyone around her is thinking. She’s also not willing to take people’s bullshit the majority of the time. This leads to confrontations with people she probably shouldn’t be confronting. GOALS: Alice wants the best thing in life; Money, and lots of it. Enough so that she can live comfortably doing whatever she wants for a long while. Her second goal would be to start making the world a better place for everyone, though she doesn’t share her idealistic view with anyone else, as she doesn’t believe it will actually happen, so she looks out for #1, first and foremost. FEARS: Aside from the fact that she’s claustrophobic, Alice has a deep rooted fear of becoming her mother in some ways. Not so much the personality, but the addictions, the struggle for recovery, being stuck in the crappiest neighborhoods the world over. Alice never wants to end up that way. OVERALL PERSONALITY: On the surface, Alice is a caustic little girl with a lot of determination. She keeps to herself for the most part, and is apt to be short and sarcastic with her peers. She lashes out to protect herself from getting hurt, and often makes more enemies than friends with her barbed words. When she does make a friend, this attitude doesn’t change; she’s still snarky and quite willing to tell you just what she thinks. But it’s more in jest rather than in a serious manner as she normally is with others. She’s also fairly loyal to her friends, and tries to help them out of tight situations. Alice doesn’t shy away from others, but she doesn’t actively get close to them either; this often makes having true friends difficult. Since she has so few people in her life to rely on, Alice has become very self-sufficient and reliant. She is willing to offer her help to other people, but does not readily accept help, and is in fact unwilling to admit to others when she is way in over her head, as she believes herself to be capable of handling problematic situations by herself. When it is clear that she requires help, she has a hard time admitting it, or even asking for it. However, this does lead to Alice’s ability to stand her ground against anyone, even people she should be more wary of. While she’s made some enemies, Alice has proven her mettle time and again; she is not someone to be taken lightly. She gets even and has shown that she is more than willing to take you down if you cross a line with her. Having seen corruption within the law enforcement system firsthand, Alice is less than likely to be an upstanding citizen, as she sees the criminals in her neck of the woods as at least honest in their intentions. In fact she commits crimes herself, but none of them are very violent; mostly they are petty in nature. Alice sees things in more of shades of gray rather than in a stark black and white morality, though this doesn’t mean she endorses all crime. She just thinks that in most cases, there’s a side to every story. Last but not least, Alice is a closeted nerd. Well, not so much as a closeted nerd as much as she likes traditionally nerdy subjects, but isn’t one to bring them up all the time and isn’t particularly obvious about it. The same goes for her passion for video games; she isn’t going to be all up in someone’s face about it, but once you get her going about them, its very hard to get her to stop. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Atlanta, Georgia RESIDENCE: When she's not doing what she usually does, Alice lives in a tiny, cramped and crappy apartment in Brooklyn, as it is one of the cheapest places she can afford, considering its NYC. At least she's got a place to stay though. PARENTS: Tamara “Tammie” Moore|38|Mother|Alive Dustin Moore (Amsel)|40|Step-Father|Alive, Estranged Tony Stark|45|Biological Father SIBLINGS: Forrest Moore|23|Half-Brother|Alive, Estranged IMPORTANT RELATIVES: Since Alice has such a small nuclear family, most of her relationships, even the negative ones, end up being important. She is estranged from her brother, and honestly doesn’t know him all that well. They haven’t spoken in years. The same could be said of her father, who did disown her and cut her out of his life, summarily having her cut him out of her life. She thinks that her father can go die for all she cares. Alice’s most important relative at current is her mother, who is currently out of a Rehab center and her shitty apartment, trying to get her life back on track and stay clean. Alice calls her once a week, to check up on her. Alice has recently discovered that her biological father is none other than Tony Stark, who is Iron Man of the Avengers team. While both parties were surprised by this development, they're currently trying to bond. IMPORTANT PERSON: None. OVERALL HISTORY: Alice’s story begins with her parents, Dustin and Tamara. They were high school sweethearts, and got married right after graduation. Her mother headed off to college, intent on becoming a fashion designer while her father got a job as an office worker in one of the many corporations around Atlanta. Things were happy for a time; the young kids were so in love, and with Dustin’s paycheck it was easy to support the two of them. While the pay would be good enough to support one, maybe even two, kids would make it problematic, at least until he could get a raise. Then it became the three of them, with Alice’s older brother being born first. Both parents had to put in more hours to support their first child, and they managed. But as time passed, and with Alice’s birth, finances became strained. Her mother had dropped out of college, as she just couldn’t handle the workload, and couldn’t afford to pay for it anymore. She couldn’t seem to find any other job than waitressing, which didn’t help the ends meet all the time. Alice’s family was literally living paycheck to paycheck for a time. The months dragged on, with Alice’s father having to take longer and longer hours at the office just to support his family. He turned to alcohol to deal with the stress this all put on him. This also strained relations with his wife, and with the finances; the arguments between the two of them got fairly loud within their apartment, spreading into the night most days. Eventually, he just fell out of love with his wife, and taking his son, up and left her. Alice was devastated by her father’s actions and her parent’s separation, which soon turned into a divorce. Alice ended up staying with her mother, because according to her father, he wasn’t even sure if Alice was his daughter. The comment had sparked a very fiery argument in the courtroom. So, at the age seven, Alice was left with just her mother to support her. Alice’s mother tried to get a better job, but there were no opportunities anywhere. She turned to alcohol as well, to cope with the divorce, her failing job search, everything. While Alice’s mother dealt with her own turmoil, Alice was left alone for a good portion of the time. It was during this period the Alice accidentally locked herself in a dark, cramped closet, unable to get out for several hours. This experience, at such a young age, was fairly traumatic. Alice now suffers from moderate claustrophobia, due to this incident. Her mother eventually started looking for jobs elsewhere, and managed to find a decent paying one in New York. Tamara took the job, and Alice found herself uprooted at age nine, moving to a strange city. Tamara was already underpaid, and though she had a decent job, it wasn’t good enough to get her and Alice out of where they’d initially settled; in the East side of Brooklyn. To add on to that problem, Tamara couldn’t kick her addictions. So she turned to whatever jobs she could do to support them; by this point in time, Tamara was addicted to alcohol and speed. Alice, being left to her own devices most of the time, learned how to take care of herself at the age of ten. She learned how to take care of the house and her mother a year later. Alice had an extremely hard time making friends; moved to a vastly different state, and being the new kid with a slight southern twang in her voice, she became a target. Her trust issues and her home life drove her to seek solace in something else entirely. Technology was that thing. She felt drawn to it, as it was simply a machine and could only do what it was programmed to do, and it was a lot easier to fix and repair. She found it fascinating and took to reading up about technology within the library, which she did often. Alice started figuring out how to repair computers by watching it being done within the main stores, and by dismantling completely trashed computers, phones, and laptops that lay within the junkyard. If it was technical, Alice picked it apart. Sometimes she was able to repair it enough to sell for parts. Her skills with repair rapidly grew over time, and Alice figured she could repair other people’s computers for a cheaper rate than the mainstream stores. She ended up with so many customers that she was able to afford a shiny new laptop. But Alice knew that repairs weren’t good enough; she needed to be able to do something else, something that she could support herself with. It was at this time Alice discovered the underground world of hacking. She learned the ropes quickly, and grew into a fairly competent hacker in only a year. Alice seemed to just have an affinity for things along the technological vein, though she was not any form mutant; she just seemed to be a natural at it. Alice eventually decided to pick a hacker handle. She decided to go with Qwerty, after having a chat with her other hacker friends online. She decided on this moniker because Qwerty is the most common set up for keyboards in the world, and so many people used it, she could hide behind their usernames if she ever needed to. Alice, in time, decided that her hacking skills were good enough that she could “sell” them per say. She’d hack whatever her client wanted her to hack, if it was within her means and said client had cold hard cash on hand. She didn’t take any high-risk jobs; she didn’t need to get herself nailed by the FBI or the mutants or billionaires at all. Though she’s now in a technical school, getting a piece of paper that will tell people that she knows how to program, and is generally on her way up to being legit, she still does her hacking for hire on the side. You never know when you might need to get into a high security area, after all. The world seems to be constantly changing, and maybe she’ll need to find her way to some place a little more guarded than a convenience store. HISTORY:
Alice’s history remains the same, except for the fact that Atlanta doesn’t exist in the new universe anymore. Things start changing around when her ‘parents’ got a divorce when she was seven and her brother was ten.
The accusation that she wasn’t the child of the man she’d known to be her father for a while resulted in a DNA test being taken, but the case was resolved before the test ever needed to be presented in court, and it was subsequently forgotten about. Alice and her mother also remained in her birthplace, Persica, trying to eke out a living there.
Things went about as well as they usually did, which was to say not fantastic, especially with bills upon bills to pay for the lawyers from the recent divorce, etc. The rest of this history remains unaltered, up until the point where Alice has just turned sixteen.
The DNA test from the divorce trial sat forgotten for about nine years in the DA’s office. When it was recovered, it was discovered that Dustin was correct about his assumption that Alice wasn’t his daughter; instead she was the bastard child of Tony Stark himself. This prompted the lawyers to dither about for a bit, before they ended up calling Mr. Stark.
Obviously re-testing would have to be done on both parties, just to be sure. Alice at first didn’t believe any of this, but since it was apparently being paid for by not her and was super quick to do, she figured she might as well indulge the people in their delusions.
It was once more a match. Alice was at a loss for how to deal with this, and she already knew that even if a case was made, and even with the grossly unbalanced court system, no one in their right mind would award her mother any custody rights.
Despite her personal thoughts on the matter, the point was that she wasn’t going to end up with her mother. So the agreement was that she would go stay with him on a few conditions; first and foremost being that her mother was sent to rehab/taken care of, or she wasn’t going anywhere. Some other things were finagled out between all parties, and Alice was whisked away from the South and brought to the heart of the empire.
Also apparently she achieved a degree from MIT and is now in charge of people and has an office, and all of these things make her extremely uncomfortable.
