OCCUPATION: X-Men Reserve Team, Guidance Counselor (Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters). MEMBER GROUP: Mutants (X-Men). POWERS AND ABILITIES: Plasma blasts- Streams of white hot plasma that erupt from her hands. Can range from the colorful sparkles of her first manifestation to a fairly powerful detonation, with the potential to detonate matter at a sub-atomic level. The 'pafs' obey her mental control and can be absorbed back into Jubilee's body without harm. Psionic shield- Her mind possesses a natural defense against telepathic detection or attack. These shields made her mind invisible to Telepaths unless they knew exactly what to mentally scan for. PLAYBY: Jamie Chung. OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: Cait. AGE: 23. GENDER: Female. TIMEZONE: EST. OTHER CHARACTERS: N/A. [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES: Bubblegum- She likes to chew when she’s bored, and tends to snap it when agitated. Rollerskates- Perfect for a quick getaway, bringing her back to her mallrat runaway days. Sparkly Things- A non-literal expression of her powers. Music- Always with her headphones, be it relaxing at home, walking down the street, or prepping for a mission. Coffee- Don’t talk to her before she has two cups in her. DISLIKES: Enclosed Spaces- This stems from being kidnapped from Xavier’s by Colonel William Stryker and being trapped in a pit. Brussels Sprouts- Come on, does ANYONE really like them? Entitlement- If you’re a mouthy rich kid (or person since she’s an adult now), she probably really doesn’t like you. Darkness- Yes, she sleeps with a light on in the kitchenette. That pit was really dark, okay. Decaf Anything- Just, why? STRENGTHS: Gymnast- She was on track to compete in the Olympics before her parents were murdered. Aids her during missions due to her being nimble and light on her feet. She is quick and can make her opponent lumber around trying to catch her. When needed, she will take over Physical Education class at Xavier's to teach these skills. Half Ninja- She possesses strong martial arts skills, but not the quietest when sneaking around. She has a mean right hook and her leg sweep is the stuff of legends among the students of Xavier's. Actress- Jubilee adapts well to a character when needed on missions, stems from lying to cops and social workers. Can keep a running verbal commentary whilst undercover, but mentally she is calculating exit strategies, spotting security cameras and guard locales, and how many people she may need to incapacitate if the need arose. WEAKNESSES: Loud Mouth- Jubes speaks before she thinks, and doesn’t pull her punches. She's not afraid to voice her opinions regardless of people's feelings, but sometimes (a lot of times) her comment will backfire and then she'll end up feeling bad. Sarcastic- She tends to come off as disrespectful and bitter. She’s working on it. The coffee helps a little. Quick temper- DON’T. PISS. HER. OFF. She’s not a firecracker for nothing. The toaster learned that the hard way- When agitated, her fists will start to glow and occasionally a few pafs will escape. They may look pretty, but those little suckers hurt. GOALS: Security- A former runaway always has a bag and backup ready should she need to bolt. All she wants is to not need that anymore. Adult- She may be well into her 20s, but she often will still be seen as the little runaway who needed protection. She can take care of herself now. FEARS: Abandonment- It should go without saying, but practically everyone she has ever cared for has died, ditched her, or makes their way in and out of her life so often it makes her dizzy. OVERALL PERSONALITY: Upon meeting her, Jubilee will be the most chipper person you think you’ve ever met, with her endless chatter and bubbly demeanor. Don’t take that to mean that she’s a ditz or that you and she are going to be best friends forever. It’s a front to distract you so she can size you up and determine if you are worth getting emotionally invested in. Of course, once she decides you are, she will fight fiercely to protect you and keep you in her life. Her friends are her blood, her family. When you’ve lost so much, you hold tighter to what remains. Now that she's an adult, she expects to be treated as such. Everyone at Xavier's who knew her when she was a bratty kid rollerblading through the mansion has pretty much wised up to that, after an incident just after her 21st birthday where she announced (very maturely, by standing up on the dining room table) that she was legal to smoke if she wanted, drink if she wanted, and screw who she wanted if she wanted, and whoever had a problem with it could go a few rounds with her in the Danger Room. Having proven herself throughout the years, no one really wanted to take her up on that. But sometimes they'll forget, and she's all too happy to remind them. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Beverly Hills, California. RESIDENCE: Small studio apartment above a Chinese restaurant. No jokes please. PARENTS: Jay and Kim Lee (deceased). SIBLINGS: N/A. IMPORTANT RELATIVES: Aunt Hope Lee (deceased?) IMPORTANT PERSON: Single. OVERALL HISTORY: Jubilee was born to wealthy immigrants Jay and Kim Lee, who were a prime example of the American dream. She grew up in Beverly Hills, California a self described 'mallrat' who spent most of her time out of school (and some of the time she should've been in classes) bumming around in the mall with her friend CynJenn. She loved rollerblading, mouthing off, and generally being what she saw as a 'rebel' because she didn't want to become her mom. Her parents were murdered in a home invasion gone wrong when she was 11 years old. After being bumped from foster home to foster home for six months- they didn't like her 'attitude'- Jubilee ran away from the foster system to live on the street, thieving in order to survive. Her powers manifested one day when she was running from police and was backed into a corner. The fear she felt channeled through her outstretched hands as she pleaded with them that she was just hungry, she didn't want to steal, please don't take her away... and that fear erupted from her hands in a shower of brightly colored, stinging sparkles that incapacitated the policemen before her. Once she got a handle on the fact that she was different, Jubilee chose an honest life and began performing what she thought of as "firework shows" for crowds in the same mall she had spent so much of her time in, receiving a good amount of tips for every show. Some people didn't like that she was flaunting her mutation, and called the M Squad, a group of Mutant Catchers to apprehend her. She got away, thanks to some fabulous women who happened to be in the mall that day, and decided to follow them back to where they'd come from- Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Jubilee thrived at the school. Her vivacious personality caught much attention and she made friends very quickly. Her time at Xavier's was rarely calm or normal, what with military attacks and Danger Room sessions to prevent said military attacks, but she did well enough and went on to attain a Bachelor's Degree in Child Psychology from NYU. She now lives above a Chinese food restaurant (no, the irony is not lost on her) and is employed at the same institution which gave her a home as Guidance Counselor. She has plans to continue her education to receive her PhD, making her Dr. Lee... her parents would love that. [/PTab][PTab=IMAGE][/PTab][/PTabbedContent={width:485px;border:0px;margin-left:-2px;}] |
