[PTabbedContent][PTab=GENERAL INFORMATION] CHARACTER INFO: NAME: Dr. Bruce Banner ALIAS: The Incredible Hulk, Big Guy, Enormous Green Rage Monster AGE: 45 OCCUPATION: S.H.I.E.L.D. Scientific Consultant, Bio-engineer & Physicist MEMBER GROUP: Avenger POWERS AND ABILITIES: Unlimited Strength: As the Hulk, Bruce has access to a nearly inconceivable amount of physical strength. The amount that hulk can lift, punch, throw, etc is directly related to the amount of anger/rage/stress/excitement he is under at the moment. While never formally tested, the hulk's strength can potentially go beyond any test that could be created for such a purpose. Superhuman Speed: With his unrealistically strong legs, Hulk can propel himself across land at speeds beyond that of even the most toned athlete. While he may use various other methods of transportation, one can not simply outrun the Hulk's rage should he be so inclined to pursue. Superhuman Stamina: Much like his strength, the Hulk can stay in peak physical condition for hours to days on end thanks to the regenerative properties of his body whilst enraged. Like all of his abilities the length and potency of such things are dependent on the driving factor of the Hulk's initial transformation. Vast Invulnerability: The Incredible Hulk has suffered through explosions, gunfire of various calibers, and numerous strikes from various supernatural entities. To this date he has suffered no minor nor grievous injury from such interactions. It is unknown exactly how resilient the Hulk is to damage, but it can be conjectured that it is directly related to his rage levels. PLAYBY: Mark Ruffalo OOC INFO: PLAYER NAME: Tim AGE: 29 GENDER: Male TIMEZONE: East Coast OTHER CHARACTERS: None yet! [/PTab][PTab=PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT] PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT: LIKES: Opera Music: The roving and melodic sounds of classic opera is one of the few musical styles that truly help Bruce remain calm and slowly regain composure after turning in to the Hulk. Science: Bruce has always been a fan of learning and advancement which drove him in to science in the first place. It is the possibilities of helping the human race and bettering society that keeps him constantly looking forward. Children: As horrifying the prospect of children born with his warped and mutated DNA, Bruce always has a soft spot for children. Before his accident he was always hopeful of finding someone and settling down. Tony Stark: Tony and Bruce have always shared a bit of camaraderie through their scientific pursuits despite their difference of opinion on various topics. Banner wouldn't call him the best of friends, but there is a mutual professional respect...usually. Shawarma: After the Battle of New York, Stark suggested a restaurant and food type new to Banner. Well, it was freaking delicious. DISLIKES: Science: As great and powerful science can be in the advancement of civilization, it is the thing that brought the Hulk in to Bruce's life in the first place. While there is a great respect for the craft there is also great contempt for what it did to him and what it is bringing to Earth through the various evil entities both he and the Avengers face. The Hulk: While the Hulk is the true source of his power within the Avengers, there is nothing about the effects of its presence that Bruce is keen on. Bruce's own lack of control over the monster at times makes him hate himself and its ever present legacy may overshadow that of Banner itself if it hasn't already. S.H.I.E.L.D.: This is more than simply not liking your job. The Division has been a continual bastion of porcelain towers and guarded secrets known only to few and far between. Not only that, with some of the containment and experimentation done within its hallowed walls, lies fly aplenty. The secretive and lying nature of the organization has never sat well with Banner. Tony Stark: Tony likes to do things Tony's way. That can mean deceit, lies and general shady stuff. There is enough espionage in S.H.I.E.L.D. as it is. Indian Food: Spending as much time in India as he did, nothing about Americanized Indian food appeals to him. STRENGTHS: Hulk Smash: Bruce has the ability to use his inner rage to turn in to an invincible green rage monster with the inability to rip his pants when he transforms. Genius-level Intellect: Bruce is a scientist on the levels of Tony Stark, Reed Richards, and Hank Prym. While his contributions are often overshadowed by his green alter-ego, his knowledge of the workings of the world is unquestionable. Level-headed: Generally speaking, when he isn't turning in to a large green rage monster or pondering the mysteries of science, Bruce can be a very level headed thinking individual. Being a scientist he is trained to consider all options possible and gather all the facts before making a decision. Its kind of crazy to consider that the Hulk could end up being the voice of reason, right? WEAKNESSES: Use it or Lose it: As the Hulk, he needs to keep his rage going, or its going to fizzle and turn him back in to Bruce Banner. Just as Bruce needs to control his anger to prevent the release of the Hulk, the Hulk needs to inflame his rage to keep from reverting to Bruce Banner. Especially in times of fighting this is crucial as Bruce Banner, physicist, is not the man to stand his ground Emotionally Vulnerable: The sheer nature of his constantly angered state makes Bruce Banner especially susceptible to losing control from shocking or charged events. In other words, don't sneak up on him...he may turn and leave you as a puddle on the ground. Fractured Psyche:Due to the mental and physical abuse that he suffered at the hands of his father, Bruce's emotional stability was always on a tilted level without control. It is often conjectured that such abuse and the fear and anger that developed from it helped create the rage monster that The Hulk has become. GOALS: Cure himself: While his current continuing research in to ridding himself of the Hulk is currently on hiatus due to world conditions, his ultimate goal of curing the instance that brings about the raging green monster is always a lofty, if potentially unobtainable goal. Do No More Harm: While this is also very much a long term goal, Bruce ultimately wants to settle somewhere similar to Calcutta where he can do good. Actual good without repercussions of the monster within him. FEARS: Collateral damage. Being the Hulk, this really needs no explanation. OVERALL PERSONALITY: In general, Bruce Banner is a mild-mannered, quiet and polite man. When he speaks, Bruce usually speaks in soft, calming tones, a complete opposite to his alter ego. The majority of his jokes and sarcastic quips are made at himself or his particular predicament. He prefers to be alone whenever possible as it provides fewer people that can be harmed should anything happen. While he is brutally aware of the Hulk, he doesn't offer many apologies for the chaos and destruction it causes. Understanding that there is no stopping the Hulk is truly the greatest knowledge one can possess, and Bruce is easily the first person to offer that knowledge up. Despite his work to contain the monster within, it doesn't prevent him from seeing himself as a true monster, a ticking time bomb waiting for his destructive tendencies to overshadow his worth. HISTORICAL OVERVIEW: BIRTHPLACE: Dayton, Ohio, USA RESIDENCE: Wherever S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers trust him to live. PARENTS: Brian & Rebecca Banner. Brian is in a mental hospital for Rebecca's murder. SIBLINGS: None. IMPORTANT RELATIVES: No, after the accident that created him, Bruce generally stayed away from anyone he could potentially hurt...which was everyone. IMPORTANT PERSON: Tony Stark has always shared a bit of kinship to Banner through science and intellectual inspiration. Even if he does poke Bruce a bit in various directions he may not always wish to go. Natasha Romanov is someone Bruce trusts, and is one of the few people who can get him out of the raging monster if need be. OVERALL HISTORY: Bruce Banner was born a normal child in Ohio to Brian and Rebecca Banner. His father, a nuclear physicist himself, got Bruce in to the sciences in school, where he quickly learned that Bruce's mind was extraordinary. Being an only child, Bruce's mother doted on him, which quickly earned his father ire when Brian turned to the bottle. Alcohol and a selfless act ended his mother's life at his father's hand, a crime for which Brian Banner was never convicted. It was then that Bruce had to live with his father's abuse and the development of true fear, anger, and the fear of anger. After his father was incarcerated for abusing him, Bruce set out on his own academic journey. Earning a Ph.D whilst delving in to many other areas of study simply to keep his mind active and entertained. Mastering an academic field came easily to Banner, but his specialty was in nuclear physics, specifically gamma radiation and its uses. It was this course of study that would ultimately seal Bruce's fate and his place in history. During an experiment trying to create a super-soldier serum similar to that of Captain America's, an accident occurred that put Bruce directly in the path of high levels of gamma radiation. By all accounts of modern science, it should have destroyed the man. instead, a hulking green monstrosity stood in Banner's place. What is now known as the Hulk was born. The newly created creature destroyed the lab where Banner was working and escaped, leading to a manhunt across multiple continents. While abroad, Bruce developed working theories while the monster inside of him ran wild. It was unbridled and unforgiving, terrorizing dozens of South American cities and villages. Despite all these things, Banner began using martial arts, breathing and calming techniques like meditation to gain control over his emotions. From these practices, Banner learned that his anger was something that could be controlled and the Hulk was not always going to be a public menace if he could simply keep his anger under control. Once finding himself in a place to do some good, he was recruited to the Avengers through an intervention with Agent Romanov. Despite the progress made, the incident aboard the Helicarrier proved that even in times of great control, great distress can bring about moments where the monster himself can take over against Bruce's better judgement. This was by far the most important lesson, for while the control can be taught and exercised, the wild animalistic ways of the Hulk could always tear away control if provoked.
