It's good to see Spidey back on the site. Watching him deal with the universe shift in his own snarky way has been nothing short of entertaining.

Notes: STARK EXPO IS OPEN This is party number one, so feel free to step in and party with Tony.
His various Iron Man responsibilities aside, the Expo was likely the most important thing that he would be doing all year. As such, he had worked hard to get things up and running, getting the best companies to arrive with their fancy new creations and setting up the biggest events he could. The opening night party was one of those things. Held under a large Pavilion set up specifically for these kinds of events, Tony was dressed to the nines and ready to party. He wasn't sure where Rogers was, although the man had essentially been ordered to follow Tony to the Expo. He was sure that their shared hotel room would be awkward tonight, no matter how big it was, and he planned to get wasted to offset such madness.
Glass of scotch in hand, he stepped up to the microphone in front of the live band and cleared his throat, gathering the hall's attention. "Welcome to Stark Expo!" he grinned, and a small cheer went up through the crowd.
"This year we're proud to bring you the biggest names in tech and the newest innovations. Stark Industries is about, first and foremost, sharing innovation with the public. We want everyone to have access to the best technology. We want everyone to be involved in creating the big thing of the future.
"I'm so glad that each and every one of you is here, and I hope that over the next month everyone discovers something new and interesting to get excited about. I hope that our science exhibition showcasing the greatest scientific minds of the next thirty years is a big hit, and that those kids get the spotlight that they deserve for the incredible projects they're bringing forth.
"But for now, lets celebrate! It's time to lift our glasses to innovation and drink to the future!" With that, Tony took a long drink from his glass, smiling at the crowd as they cheered and stepping down from the stage. It was time to mingle and get drunk. Not necessarily in that order.
Whitney was a walking bundle of exposed nerves. When it was ‘casually’ mentioned, that Tony would be throwing a ‘get together’ as a welcoming opener to this.. Stark Expo of his.. she was excited. It had been a very long time since she had hosted a party, and growing up a socialite, she knew how to throw a party. She should have known better. The random looks she had gotten from people in the tower for the past week had been with a mixture of awe and sympathy and she could never figure out why until someone had jokingly sent her the guest list; in the form of a New York phone book. It was then that she realized she had a LOT of work to do and little time to do it in.
On top of all that, she had the added stress of keeping the newly happy couple.. well.. happy.. for the public. There was something off about the relationship between Tony and Steve; besides the fact that it reeked of lies that any blind man could see. But the masses flocked to it like lemmings. Was it just that Americans were so gullible in all aspects that they would believe Tony’s womanizing was a cover for a secret sex life? When the rest of his life was such an open, and in your face, book? Steve on the other hand.. meh.. that she could see. The man was too pretty and too.. American pie.
She stood, practically vibrating as she watched Tony’s speech. Eying his drink narrowly, she tried to figure out how many he had had. Rule number 1 of being Tony’s PA; keep the man sober. It wasn’t his rule, but turns out there are Tony’s rules, and rules for working for Tony. Two very different lists, both of them adding up to say that yes, she was indeed a high priced babysitter. Her eyes flicked to the bar and the bartender behind it. ”What the hell?” She marched quickly to the bar, the quick clicking her stilettos made were drown out by the cheering of the gathering.
”Who the hell are you, and where the hell is Oscar?” Leaning over the bar so she could be heard was a very unlady like thing to do in the low cut black gown she wore, but things might have just taken a very bad turn, and she could worry about being a lady some other time. ”I’m James. Oscar couldn’t make it tonight. Mr. Stark hired me.” Whitney’s blood ran cold. Rule number 1 was an impossible rule to live up to, and she had hoped to have found a way to do that by hiring a bartender who had been strictly ordered to serve Tony watered down drinks. And now, with that little insurance policy gone.. ”How many has he had?”
The new bartender looked at her as if she had spoken in a foreign language, which given her stress level at the moment, it was quite possible. Anger quickly ran through her body, warming her blood. Reaching over the bar, she grabbed a handful of James’ silk vest and pulled him close so she could hiss at him through clenched teeth. ”Now you listen to me. I don’t care who hired you and what you were told. I don’t care how you handle it, but Tony Stark is not to get drunk tonight. Do you understand me?”
The man nodded, more white than was normal showing around his chocolate brown irises. Releasing him, she slid off of the bar and gave the man a pleasant smile with a small huff of a laugh. ”I, however, will take a scotch.” She paused and looked over her shoulder before turning back with a sigh. ”Make it a double.”

While the crowd cheered to Tony Stark's words of welcome and toasts, Gwen with her smile simply stood among the crowd of excited and curious people. Yes, Gwen was just as excited and as curious as everyone else and that much might have been shown by the way she clapped her hands while trying not to spill her drink on her dress that was bought specifically for this occasion. While she was just a young university student working for OSCORP, she had always wondered what it would be like to attend the Stark Expo, what a great group of minds and companies could create and possibly bring to life and now she was able to say that she could witness it. Innovations, technology... science; It was a great thing.
She had to admit, it was quite bigger and lively than what was shown on television and she was just happy that she managed to be able to witness it all. Her blue eyes focused in on Mr. Stark, a man who seemed to be enjoying himself. Which was good, she figured if you were the only having to deal with the ups and downs of putting together an expo, you should at least be able to enjoy the victory of it all. The young woman slightly turned just to check out the crowd, and possibly see if she found any familiar faces. While she did mention wanting to attend the Stark Expo this year, she wasn't exactly sure if Peter felt it was needed to attend too. She wouldn't put it against him for deciding not to, who knows maybe Spider-Man had a busy night ahead of him.
After noticing a familiar face or two, she waved at them with a smile. "Hi." Only to turn around to wonder what she'd do next. Maybe check out a few of the panels? Or maybe try to meet new people and try to network? She had a whole night ahead of her, standing around, doing nothing and indulging in drinks the whole time would probably be a waste.
TAG. everyone WORDS. 561 MUSE. party time! NOTES. here we go amigos!
With all of the hours and demands that had been accompanying her new job recently, Amber hadn't been sure that she was going to make it to the Expo at all. It would have been a source of great disappointment for the young woman to have been left out of such an amazing display of modern technology, but if that was the demand of her job then she knew she was going to have to suffer in silence. As luck would how it, however, she had been spared from the company long enough to attend the opening night party...though the stipulation had been that she was to help everyone keep a careful eye on things and make sure that everything went smoothly. With no prior knowledge of what was to happen that night Amber had climbed into the company car, hurried home to put something more suitable on for the night and then returned just in time to place herself in the crowd for Tony's opening remarks.
As she turned her head toward the stage, she couldn't help but groan inwardly at the sight of the glass he now held in his hand while he spoke to the throng of people who had assembled in front of the stage. Pepper was not going to be pleased when those pictures hit the news stands in the morning. But there was no way for any of them to fix the problem now, and so the brunette simply contented herself with small glances at the crowd to make sure there were no rowdy movements before she joined in the applause the followed the end of his speech.
Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear she began to maneuver her way through the people with polite tones and small smiles when she bumped into various people. She didn't plan on approaching Tony directly, but she certainly intended to stand close by in case something were to happen. No doubt his own assistant was somewhere nearby doing the very same thing, however, and Amber had no desire to step on her toes that night by overstepping her boundaries as the assistant to the CFO of the company. "It's going to be a long night," she murmured to herself as she caught sight of Tony mingling nearby with some of the people who had gathered to see him. If he wasn't careful he was going to end up in the middle of a mob and then they might not be able to get him safely out. With all of the recent adventures that had hit the papers and been a part of his life, Tony was still very much a celebrity...and people came at him in droves. And he never seemed to mind the attention.
But while she was standing guard, Amber couldn't help but notice the various things that had been placed in the area as part of the Expo. She couldn't wait to really sink her mind into this technology and all of the potential that it possessed, knowing that this was what was going to move them all forward into the next century of life on Earth. There were endless possibilities for them to use when applying this technology. And she still didn't understand it all!
